Now Gary Numan...or Tubeway Army as he was then was my second gig
The first single I ever owned was "I'm the Urban Spaceman" by the Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band. I loved it (and still have it), but it was a cast-off from my brother who was 10 years older than me.*
The first single I ever bought for myself was "Hot Love" by T-Rex.
Now, that really dates me!
Will
*Just before any smart arse says "He must still be 10 years older than you" he passed away some years ago
The first 2 singles I remember owning were Do The Hucklebuck by Rocky Sharpe and the Replays and Some Girls by Racey, but they could have been in either order.
God bless Woolies and their 49p singles
5705 By a band called City Boy

Looking back I think its not so good but I dont think I will forget it.

Actually the first single I ever bought was with my big brother for our dear old mum -Cilla Black's "anyone who had a heart". Classic. Must have been about 1964?

I once saw a cartoon in a paper. It was Nemi (in The Metro free paper) who's a goth/rock chick. She bought her neice a Darkthrone (a Norwegian black metal band) cd as a birth present so that she didn't have an embarrassing first record. Nemi's was a Phil Collins album.
I like that idea.
First single I bought was on a sparks label and it was called Pepperbox by the Peppers. I still think its cool now too

Mind you it holds nothing to this tune, infact nothing does
When You're Young-The Jam bought at a jumble sale a few years after It came out,

Bart Simpson - Do the Bartman - 1991 I think!
