If you had a vote in the US election who would you vote for?

Not withstanding the comments posted on the subjects thread, I thought it would be interesting to see if the swinging community had a preference between Obama and McCain. Most of us don't have a vote of course, personal self interest won't come into it, which makes it just a bit of fun. It would be interesting to see if the community's "liberated" attitude to sexual matters extends to our view of US politics.
I hope this is not viewed as too controversial by the mods. The poll will only run for 1 day to reflect the actual election.
I have been waiting on this thread to appear for a while....... lol
okay.... I have voted early via absentee.....I vote in Georgia, which is normally Republican but a mile, and hasn't voted blue since 76.....
If it goes Democrat then you know that it will be a landslide for Obama!!!
but the thing is it was getting closer and closer in the polls, the last polls has McCain up by 3 in... but the more people that vote in atlanta and it's surrounds, the closer it will be........
I am sure you can guess which way I voted...
anyway... sad news about Obama's Grandmother dying of cancer today..... if she had lived one more day, she would have gotten to see her grandson do something I thought I would never see in my lifetime...
I would really love to be in chicago tomorrow....from about 10pm eastern i am guessing it will be one hell of a party.... or one hell of a riot
despite Obama receiving news of his grandmothers death he has carried on with the rally in north carolina, good luck to him tommorrow....Go Obama Go
Geo W has presided over two disastorous wars and the worst financial crisis possibly ever, I suspect he and his political allies have gained significantly on a personal level from the above . All this on a disputed presidential vote finally given to him in a state run by his brother.
It can't get worse............can it ???
Obama will be inheriting a "sack of sh*t" We will find out whether he has the qualities of a true statesman or not.
I wish him all the luck in the world.
Obama will probably win so in 4 years time he can be blamed for not cleaning up the mess Dubya created, then he'll be voted out ready for some other bible-toting white, middle-aged, middle-America fuckwit. rolleyes
Basically he's about to become the US's whipping boy... the poor bastard! sad
McCain has mostly supported Bush and is 72 and in poor health meaning Sarah Palin could become President, a prospect to truly fear!
I do so hope Obama wins.
I think its all down to one thing and one thing only is the USA ready to have a Black Man in charge everything else goes out of the window.
If they think they are ready he will get in, if they aint it shows the world just what its really like it the good of US of A.
Barack Obama for me!
I wish him luck of picking up the pieces of the state of whats been left of the country.
Who's the other one? wink
Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

I think that choice may come back to haunt him. It meant he could not play the experience card any more and raised real questions about his judgement for me.

I reckon he thought he was in for a quick cigar and lapel stain if he chose her!
I dont do polictics so i voted for the best looking one hump
I am not really that bothered to be honest, but feel that Obama would be a better choice.
My only worry is how long will it be before he is either assainated or an attempt is made. That from what I have heard is a lot of peoples worry.
He seems young and dynamic to a point, but then again so did Tony Blair, and look where that left us.
Still may the best man win, and whoever that is he needs a lot of luck, for the world is in a sorry mess at the moment, and will take a strong President to correct that....if they can.

I wonder who caused most of the sorry mess too!

Monica had a blue dress and Palin mostly wears red, I wonder if party colours are compulsory for Oval Office hanky panky.

lol Might have chips for tea :giggle: .
the margin of victory maybe bigger than people think.
i think obama promises too much and may not be able to i can see him winning easily.
I was in the States for the last election and it was clear that George "dubbya" only got re-elected for his second term because the American people will always support their sitting President.
This time, it's a different ball game and faced with the choice of an old woman, a young gobby one or electing the first Black President, I think Obama is quids in.
i don't follow polotics enough in this country never mind another but i do know that obama is the most believable in his speaches that i have seen and yes sadly that is how i choose who i vote for rolleyes i really do intend to learn more about our own parties before our next election i promise lol
but this much i do know if i was obama and they kept going on about the colour of my skin it would really piss me off surely the guy should get the job purely because he is the best guy for the job and can turn the country round
yes i do get that it is a huge deal and it does mean acceptance in a country where black people have had a huge fight on thier hands to gain even the slightest bit of acceptance but still i would want the job because i was the best bloke for the job and nothin else
i do hope he wins think he would do a grand job

Actually although this always used to be true in the last 30 or so years there have been 3 sitting presidents who failed to be re-elected: Ford (although he might not count not having been elected in the first place), Carter and George Bush 1. Whatever one might think of McCain it is actually remarkable that he is as close as he is given how incredibly unpopular George Bush 2 is.
Gotta be Obama for me.
A time for change.

I am ready for a long night of flicking between Fox news, CNN and MSNBC on my computer........ beers and food... there is even an election party going on in town, but since they are not allowed to serve alcohol after 1, i thought i'd skip it......
the obama speech this evening should be one for the ages......
I'm with you fabs, pulling an all-nighter here I reckon.
I went to bed in 2000 at about 3am and Al Gore had won. I woke up at 7am and there'd been the recount and Bush was in.
Grrr... I will not make that mistake again!

Let's hope so... or there won't be much teaching and learning going on in my classes tomorrow! rolleyes
I'm watching through the night tonight too. After all I think maybe the US elections possibly will have more bearing on me and my childrens lives in this shrinking world than the UK's General election.
does anyone know if obama intends on pulling thier troops out of afganistan and iraq??
