if a man of 25 looks for sex, he is discribed as a virile stud, if a man of 65 looks for sex he is discribed as a lecherer. this shows soceity double standards. a man of 65 is entitled to look for sex just as much as a 25 year old , would you agree.

Not sure we agree here.... Nothing to do with age the snag is a young guy knows his age and is open and honest (Usually) Then as you get older as we all do it all gets a bit confussing.. We see ads where the guy is 58 but on the same page says in his 60's etc etc..... if he is confussed about such silly things he might forget what he's doing when playing too!! Also may be much older than that!!
Always worth correcting such obvious things lol...

Havta agree with that perception & a million & one others... I have many a time argued nobody has the right to call people derogatory names (without permission) :twisted: anybody no matter how old or physically challenged has a right to look for & have sex if they wish...
It's a basic human function ffs!

I think these words have nothing to do with age.
Lecher is from the word leech something that clings on & trys to feed off you when you dont want to give. So basically its someone who pressures & doesnt understand no
Virility is when you want the person & they grab onto you & show persistance

i reckon that it depends on the age of the person you're chasing...........ie . if youre 65 and trying to score with a 25 yr old girl.... youre gonna be seen as a bit of a perv aint ya?
theres no double standards if you keep within your age group............or as near as damn it.

I wanted to post in this thread because "Lecherous" is a word I use every now and then.
Personally I don't think it is related to age. I am just as likely to describe a 21 year old as lecherous.
I've been trying to think what particular factors make me describe someone as lecherous and I'm finding it hard.
I think someone who comes across as desperate and tries to touch people when they know the attention is unwanted would be my best definition.

Serious reply after the hijack! I am older, 52, and there is a prob with some younger ladies who feel that older is pervy. Recent response in chat was "eeuk you is the same age as my dad" That was from a young female in a couple with and older (late 30s) partner. Age and sex is considered pervy by some, perhaps in the same way as when we were in our late teens and early 20s the concept of our parents still "doing it" was not to be considered. However, my line and I am sticking to it, is that maturity brings experience, and it is their loss! (immodest I know), so back off to perv at the young ones!

There is a gender issue here also, oh, isn't there always!
I'm not just talking about swinging but in the 'world at large' it is far more acceptable for a man to date a woman half his age than it is for a woman to do the same.
As for the letchery thing, yes, in my opinion it's an attitude rather than an age issue. It's a mixture of desperation, inconsideracy and a complete disregard for you as a person.
I think its healthy for people of any age to be interested in sex so long as who they're interested in doing it with is of the same opinion.

I'm not sure about any of the other ladies of my age but I get the opposite response from guys, some as young as 21! Whether it's because they think the more mature ( stop sniggering at the back! ) lady has more experience and knows what she wants, I don't know but I get hounded by 20somethings all the time. I have made a rule not to go out with guys under 30, mainly because I have a son almost that age and to me, it wouldn't seem right. That's just my own personal preference though.
