What would this world be like if everyone were swingers.
What laws would we have?
Would there be wars?
How would we divide resources?
Would there be starvation and hunger?
So here we are, the chance to make paradise, but what would it be like? The world is the same, we have the same technology, the same resources. Can we make a better job of it?
How would we select our leaders?

I don't understand why you think that 'swingers' are better people, or different people, to anyone else.
We're all swingers here and yet we still have wars, arguments and heated debates and sometimes can't decided on what the rules should be at SH?
Why should swingers be any different? Or better? Are swingers not in every part of today's society already? Government? Hospitals? Education? Industry? Black? White? All other shades of pink? New Age? Old Age? I am totally confused.

Society is based on marriage. I am not saying swingers are better than others. I am saying that the world is based on pairs. Would a swinging world hound a MP or f*cking his secretary.
One of the questions I was thinking of was would there be marriage?

Are you suggesting that all religions are involved too?
Are you suggesting that all ethnic groups are involved too?

If everyone in world were swingers there would still be wars cos you would still get timewasters and people who take offence that you dont want to meet them, I think I know what you meant thou, since becoming a swinger me and hubby see alot of things differently now as we are more open to what happens around us and see that all people are different..
I think there was another post about swingers being better people........and I cant speak for anyone else but in our case it has made us better people..... and I may have missread your original post but thats the way I took it that if swinging made everyone better people what would our world be like

i tend to think..... however liberated we are......... sex doescomplicate things.
sure.. it does relieve tensions and have no-end of advantages......but there are also massive amounts of disadvantages.
far be it from me to get all "moralistic"......but i dont think your hypothesis conjours up beautiful images in my mind... far from it.
i think we should start with promoting world peace/ tolerance/acceptance of others.......
before we try and promote "free love"

errrmm..
well... people are still people no matter thier persuasion.
Swingers or otherwise, people have a tendancy to form pairs, groups, clubs, societies.. and upwards; Nations etc.
Inevitably, human nature directs that (no matter how liberated or tolerant we may feel or act) the differnce between one group/club etc and the next will always be apparent...
Sharing ourselves sexually, or at least being a part of a community that is open in such a manner doesnt (purely in my humble blah blah) remove the need to group, circle wagons and protect what you have!

Although if everybody were swingers, with current population statistics being what they are, there'd be more women than men swinging. Would that mean I'd have to sculk through the chat rooms whispering to unsuspecting guys and asking them what colour boxers they were wearing.

I hear quite a few people on the site saying that swingers are "more liberated people" and it conjures up images for me (ste) of the 70's free love era and the good old days of the hippy movement etc, however even in the 70's there were factions of society that were racist, domineering, bullying and all the other traits that some people assume are not "swinger traits."
In reality, as others on the thread have quite rightly mentioned, swingers are no more liberal than anybody else, there is a broad spectrum of society using this very site, each of us different in our views, beliefs and ethos and for every liberal free spirited swinger using SH, there will equally be a dominant and slightly overbearing type as well as a polite next door neighbour type who most people would never even suspect could contemplate or be involve in the scene.
The point im trying to make is that swingers are just a small part of the 60 million people who inhabit this country who choose for reasons of their own, to look for sexual fulfillment with members of the public other than the partner they are in a relationship with, or if single, like- minded consenting others, this a "more liberated" person does this make them not!! wink

What I am asking is if the whole of human kind where to be swingers how would it change the world.
At the moment I see my vanilla friend's wife f*cking in a car park. Do I tell him? No. What would his reaction be? In a swinging world do I tell him I saw his wife having fun? May be. What is his reaction? 'Good, I like to know she enjoys her self when I am away.'
Would there be 'adult squares' in cities. Squares to go to a restaurant for a coffee and watch the dogging, may be join in.
Would all hotels be rooms with twenty king sizes beds. That sounds like it could be fun.
If excepted behavior was swinging, how would that be reflected in the our institutions. I do not know all the answers. The small questions will have to be asked before we can answer the big ones.

Yes, risk of being found is part of the dogging scene. So, would there be a movement towards...illicit loving moments between two loving people. Who knows?

I don't believe in ' rain dance swinging' but if all the tourists went swinging with the locals, would the rest of the world ignore the avoidable part of disaster.

Let me put it another way, if the world swung the world would be a different place. Would it therefore be a 'swinging paradise'? Not a better place, but a better place for swinger.
