we don't need to make a decision based on our discussions. But in some cases where this is necessary, people can have the most in depth examinations and end up thinking ludicrous thoughts. Because they are required to cover all possibilities and come up with the best solution.
Otherwise everybody would quickly agree on the most convenient opinion to adopt, and there would be a marked dumbing down in intelligent behaviour.
Occasionally we all find ourselves barking up the wrong tree. Its all part of gaining intellect etc. I think a lot of people go by their gut feelings and fire off something to see what happens. Its still a reasoanble way to gather intelligence.
Also some people simply can't put their thoughts into the right kind of words, and subsequent arguments become confused and incoherent.
But from one version of a topic in a thread to the next, you can see where people have improved their viewpoint and come back to it again with a better outlook on things.
I have no opinion, and anyone who tries to tell me otherwise is wrong!
