i went to the Rolling Stones gig 4th July 1990 at Wembley sadly the night England lost on penalties to the hun the dipped the lights on the stage and played a brilliant rendition of paint it black
ok, since i was about 19 (33 now) ive worked with a few bands - noone famous, just pub bands, but there was this one time . . . it was 97, my mates band, called Changing Man, had recently done a short live set at Virgin Radio, and were buzzing. the landlord of the singers local asked him if they could do a gig for him, so as it was weather like we're getting this week, we decided to use the flat roof at the back of the pub - nice open beer garden in frint of us well, it started like any other gig, plenty of there own songs, a few pub-gig standards, and the usual reactions - but when they started strawberry fields forever, the whole crowd just stopped - ive been to a LOT of gigs over the years, and i still have not seen it since, every single person there was instantly with the band - was the most amazing feeling! after the gig, the singer said 'if that was the last gig i ever played - im ahappy man!' Ian
I saw Queen with Paul Rodgers at Wembley a month or so ago. Absolutly great! Unfortunatly never got to see them perform with Freddie at the helm. Once, I had the delight of seeing Chesney (I am the one and only) Hawkes.

Best concert I ever went too was:- Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert but ive mentioned this before and a number of people dont remember it, so heres some info for you..... An open air concert on Easter Monday, April 20th 1992 at London's Wembley Stadium, televised live to over one billion people. The profit of the concert was used to launch The Mercury Phoenix Trust. In February 1992 at the annual BRIT awards ceremony, Brian May and Roger Taylor announced plans for an open air concert to celebrate Freddie Mercury's life. The tickets went on sale the next day and all 72,000 tickets sold out in just six hours, even though nobody knew who would play apart from remaining members of Queen. This show marked bassist John Deacon's final concert with the band. In April 2002 the concert was released on DVD and entered the UK charts at number 1. The performances included: Metallica - Enter Sandman, Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters Extreme - Queen Medley, More Than Words Def Leppard - Let's Get Rocked, Animal, Now I'm Here (w/Brian May) Bob Geldof - Too Late God Spinal Tap - Majesty of Rock Guns N' Roses - Paradise City, Knockin' On Heaven's Door Elizabeth Taylor - Speech Following Elizabeth Taylor's speech, the remaining members of Queen were joined onstage by Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath playing rhythm guitar until Robert Plant's arrival. Note: Plant performed Innuendo at the concert but would not allow it be on the DVD, explaining that his voice was in very poor condition, and most agree it was off. Also, when the concert aired on MTV, U2 dedicated a live performance via satellite from California of "Until The End Of The World" to Freddie. Joe Elliot/Slash - Tie Your Mother Down Roger Daltrey - I Want It All Gary Cherone - Hammer To Fall James Hetfield - Stone Cold Crazy Robert Plant - Introduction to 'Thank You', Crazy Little Thing Called Love Brian May - Too Much Love Will Kill You Paul Young - Radio Ga Ga Seal - Who Wants To Live Forever Lisa Stansfield - I Want To Break Free David Bowie/Annie Lennox - Under Pressure Ian Hunter/David Bowie/Mick Ronson/Joe Elliot/Phil Collen - All The Young Dudes David Bowie/Mick Ronson - Heroes George Michael - '39 George Michael/Lisa Stansfield - These Are The Days Of Our Lives George Michael - Somebody To Love Elton John/Axl Rose - Bohemian Rhapsody Elton John - The Show Must Go On Axl Rose - We Will Rock You Liza Minnelli/Cast - We Are The Champions.

Sorry mollman   you will pay.............. Anyway one of my favourite concerts was the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at wembley ( :2fingers: to Poly40 ) and the other was ELTON JOHN last month at the reebok in bolton......... as i went along expecting E.J. to just sing a few old songs and be average, but what i got ( after LULU had nearly put me to sleep  ) was at least a good couple of hours of a pure rock and roll LEGEND giving a lot of the newer bands a run for there money.............FFS i sound like me DAD But i hope that Coldplay will be a good one a week on monday ( :2fingers: :flipa: to Poly40 again ) :giggle:
