When do senior moments start?

Earlier this week Sappho accused me of having a 'senior moment' evil
What had happened was that I had taken a package down to the Post Office to be posted Special Dalivery and, having taken my keys out of my pocket to find the necessary change, I had wandered off and left them on the counter. I realised as soon as I got back to the office and returned to the PO to collect them.
Sooo, the question is: Is this just simple absent mindedness or something more serious? I have been known to do this before at moments of high stress. Have I been under stress lately? dunno
The very next day I couldnt't find my mobile 'phone. Having searched the house unsuccessfully I decided to ring the number. I heard the 'phone ring in the laundry basket and realised that I had left the 'phone in the pocket of my jeans that i had just put to the wash.
Two in two days. Is this cause for concern?
Will
Don't worry Will. The zimmer frame is in the post.
Think of all those long cold nights when you can snuggle up in your top to toe dressing gown and share the foot muff with Sappho. I can see you now thumbing your way through the catalogue for all those little gadgets to help you on with your socks, remove the hair from your ears and nose and those designer pants that you can pee in all day without visiting the loo. dunno
:therethere: It comes to us all :therethere:

Don't forget the Stannah stairlift and the bath you can walk into, never actually liked the thought of that, surely you could get scalded while you are running the bath and sitting in it at the same time confused
think it started with when i was 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought you two were nice. Now I am beginning to HATE you evil

I've been like that since, err, I can't remember...
I own a PDA, not becuase I like gadgets (although I do) but I use it to remember things for me smile Althouth the little bastard is developing a cruel streak and has stopped issuing reminders for certain important things. I think I need to upgrade it for a newer model...
Err, what was the original question?

hate who??????????

I think the senile old bugger was looking in a mirror and talking to himself. The reason he said "two" is because brain rot has set in resulting in double vision.
lol
Senior Moments begin when you start using Woganisms (like 'Senior Moment')

Awwwwwww Will :therethere: Understand exactly where you're coming from - as someone who misplaced her daughter, and only got her back when the pub phoned up to say I had forgotten to take her home with me confused I know just where you're coming from.
This reminded me of something that happened a couple of years ago, totally forgotten about it until now (you see, forget is my middle name rolleyes ).....
I had to go to the building society and as usual was running late and thought it was gonna be shut. Legged it there and luckily it was still open. After the rushing, I was stood in a queue still in 'rush mode' so sighing, tutting and tapping feet to try and chivvy along the old girl in front of me.
Got to my turn, got served all was well and off I went. Got to the car and - no keys!! Looked at the time and it had just gone 5 o'clock, so the building society would be shut  Panic panic panic!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of effin and jeffin etc  - OMG was gonna be stranded til the next morning!!!!!! legged it back to building society in the hope that I could attract someones attention.
Got there, looked in the big window, and sure enough, there were my car keys sat proudly on the counter  ....... But luckily there was one of the assistants there too, a ray of hope! cool I started jumping around outside the window to attract her attention :taz: Couldn't knock on the window you see, cos she was behind a glass counter and wouldn't have heard it - so had to leap around in a busy street trying to make her look up redface
Lady luck was on my side biggrin as well as gathering a small crowd of bemused onlookers, I had managed to get the assistants attention. She couldnt see the keys from her side, they were hidden behind a notice - so back to my charades. My miming and arm flapping was confusing her, thought I better change tactic before she looked away to ignore the 'strange' woman outside ........ so started pretend driving the full length of the bluddy window. Bluddy good impression, if I might say so myself - done the ignition and gear changes and everything. After a couple of 'drives' up and down the window, she still didn't have a clue what I was going on about, dunno daft bluddy assistant evil
I really was starting to panic, cos didn't want to be stranded, not only were the onlookers staring, but also noticed that passing cars were slowing down as they passed me - just being bluddy smug that they were in a car and I was just doing driving impressions on the pavement
Looked back at the assistant and now she was waving back at me  :dunno: Was she taking the piss? showing me what I looked like to everyone else   What on earth was she on about  :dunno: I realised just how hard it was to translate mimes :dunno:
I was cleverer at guessing tho :smug: cos didn't take me long at all to realise what she was waving at ......................
Oh god,
Can't believe I'm actually telling you this surprisedops: .....
She was waving at me to come in  :undecided: ........... I tentatively pushed the door waiting for the alarms and police to arrest me, but it just sprung open.
It turned out the place was still open ........... My watch was a bit fast and the bluddy place was still open :?    I had been jumping and driving about on a busy high street only to find the place still bluddy open!!!!!!!
Embarrassed? I nearly died, never been so humiliated in my life ....... ok I have, lots of times  but right at that moment it felt like nothing could beat that
So you see Will, I understand where youre coming from - but take comfort in the fact that once the babies come along, your episodes will just be the norm :rotflmao:
PMSL @ misschief!!!!! Thankyou soo much hun for putting one of the biggest smiles ever on my face this morning!!!!! biggrin
Thanks MISSCHEIF, I thought it was only me that was THAT strange!!! I also thought it was an aging process, but now i realise its only easy to forget the mundane, boring and less obvious things as all vessels have their "FULL" level, and we just have too many other fun things to think about!! biggrin (like forgetting parents evening, dental appointments, meetings that have been in the diary for months....)
Well i recon its passing.I sent out a load of pms for steves party and have been told that ive missed off the time we want people to start arriving
ROFLMAO @ Misschief rotflmao

Oh Dave, I've already got one of them blankets rotflmao It's a necessary piece of survival kit in this household..................
The last time the blanket was put to use was just a couple of months ago. Me, my 12 yr old and 8 yr old daughters went for a picnic by the river. I had wonderful visions of our day out ........ Gorgeous warm balmy day, a piece of tranquility all to ourselves with only the Unicorns grazing, fairies lazing under the toadstools and gentle breeze to keep us cool as we munched on our lovely picnic ........ ok the picnic just consisted of some Dairylea lunchables n crisps, but you get the picture rolleyes
So, lunch finished, I relaxed with my book, looking all summery in a flowing white broidery anlais number. The girls skipped off to the river bank to play, youngest stood looking in the water and eldest swinging happily on the rope swing - then it happened :undecided: .....
Eldest accidently swung into the 8 yr old - one of them classic slow motion events, you know, shes stood on the edge of the river bank flapping her arms furiously trying not to fall in, I leapt up, eldest still on the swing doing goldfish impressions  youngest still flapping wildy in mid air :rotflmao:
She landed in the water, only thigh deep, stood up with the most shocked expression  - could see her face wanting to cry but realising she wasn't hurt. I went to the edge, but couldnt help her up the muddy bank cos was by this time, crying with laughter, poor kid had to scramble up herself ..... I will add that by this point she too was laughing, although still spluttering and spitting out bits of vegetation confused
Had to strip her off and wrap her in the blanket to go home cos didn't want the car seats stinking of pond life :? So you see, a very important piece of kit in this house lol
ooohhh...picnics by the river ...love them,
did you lift stones to look for Tommy Loggers?... ..well that's what I call em...flat fish live under stones ..easy to catch in your hand....damned if I can think of their real name, put them in jam jars.
Me and mrs davej still go on picnics in the summer...normally go to the beach .....bought one of them cheap pop up tents, £8 job ....beach tent ...poke a few stiff rods through some holes and it just pops up, bloody hundreds of em everywhere, cept me and mrs davej couldn't make ours work ......looked a right pair of pillocks trying to put it up the same as every one else had, but just couldn't work it out.
......did you fly a kite... ..cos we are crap at that as well, run like a mad thing up and down with the kite just doing little circles about three feet off the ground behind me, whilst kids under 10 have got theirs soaring high in the sky.....bloody embarrasing cos I haven't got the grace of a Gazelle these days when running, more a sort of lumber.....a sort of Shrek like run......
Ginkgo biloba really seems to help.
