The person on the receiving end had been extremely abusive towards me in previous posts and I had expressed the opinion that if I replied like for like, I would be banned.
The old chestnut about some people being able to get away with abuse as long as it`s directed at the right people !
Now.....I`m not particularly worried about the abuse but it does concern me that it appears that some can get away with stuff that others would be banned for....namely me lol

So ..... I used a term that I suspected the person on the receiving end could possibly find offensive but I could argue with a totally clear conscience was almost a term of endearment rather than an insult.
And guess what ??
I get a PM asking me to edit my post to remove the word "donut" because it was insulting.
At the time I checked to see if the rest of the sustained and repeated insults were still in the threads......and they were ...
So ..... I thought I`d throw it all out into a public place to be discussed and you my dear neil have asked the question politely and without rancour or abuse ...so it would be churlish of me not to answer honestly .

I can't think why but I rather got the impression from some of your posts in this thread that you were having a go at me flower but now having read your explanation above, I realise it can't possibly be because I have never pm'd you (let alone asked you to remove the word 'donut' from a post) and I have never suggested to you, publicly or otherwise that you would get a ban, despite you continuing to insist elsewhere that I have the mods in my pocket and exert considerable influence (which I don't)

so! your saying the intent was there to insult but in choosing a word like donut that admin and the mods would not be cleaver enough to see the real intent or insult behind the word
you then try to champion your cause and obtain sympathy in the cafe hoping every one daft enough to take up your cause
id edit the post and take it your not the super brain you thought you was
seems like admin and a few others have your measure mate

My intent was to use a word that I do not find insulting but I suspected somebody else would.
