I have just finished reading John Francomes' Back Hander....... Wow.... even better than anything he has ever written before... gives Dick Francis a definite run for his money... and possibly wins on the nod..... lol.... it's a thriller set in and around a racing yard and race-course........ I only bought it yesterday... and have been swept along into the story from page one... until i finished it early this morning... Now, i read a fair number of books, but this one has to take top place as yet.... What book have you read recently that you just haven't been able to put down??????? equi-princess xxx
Just finished some absolute classics last week and over the weekend Salman Rushdie, The ground beneath her feet. Completely insane book, great read, and probably couldn't put it down because I had to read everything twice for it to make sense!....but amazingly written!. Iain Banks, Complicity Brilliant ! Chart Korbjitti, No way out. picked this up in the airport on my way back out of Bangkok, small book, but it really is one that sticks to your hands !.....(and no, I don't mean it's a naughty read :P )
The most recent one I couldn't put down was 'Deception Point', by Dan Brown. It was written before the overated 'Davinci Code' and wow what a fast paced read  Am currently reading 'London Bridges' by James Patterson  Minx x x

Quote by sexyann57 Anything by James Patterson or Patricia Cornwell, ...I just luv crime novels
I love crime stuff, psychological thrillers - Patricia Cornwell is bloody brilliant! The Body Farm is one of her best, but they're all unputdownable Erwin James is probably my fave writer at the moment but the prize for read-cover-to-cover- in-one-sitting goes to Tim Willocks: Green River Rising.
Sad really but last book/books I couldnt put down were the Harry Potter novels. When everyone raved about the last book on here, I thought what the h*ll and went and took the whole series out of my sons room, sat down and surfaced about 2 days later. Absolutely fantastic Generally the latest James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell and Martina Cole, once I have them I can't put them down until I've finished. Fred, I've found your books, and a Pm is on its way kaz
Aberystwyth Mon Amour, Last Tango in Aberystwyth and The Unbearable Lightness of Being in Aberystwyth.. All by Malcolm Pryce.. An hilarious series.. Fans of far fetched fiction will love them..

The manual for my new video recorder The last book I read that falls into this category was "The Curious Incident of the Dog inthe Night Time", about an young boy who has Aspergers Syndrome (a form of autism). If you know anyone with aspergers, and don't understand them, then read this book.
Platform by Michel Houllebecq - existential, sometimes dark, sometimes happy and verging on the pornographic in parts - a little bit of swinging in there too, for good measure...
Quote by jamnat20032003 Bill Gates has aspegers apparentley people with it have very high IQ's
You could apply some of the traits of Aspergers to a lot of people. I've a mate with Aspergers and sometimes he can be really awkward, but after reading this book I now understand that he's not being awkward, we are. For instance. If he has no use for something (like a pen, for example) he will throw it away. Next time he needs a pen, he will go and buy a new one - then throw it away when he's finished. He doesn't (yet) realise (wrong word) that he needs to keep his pen for when he next needs it. My mate is very knowledgeable on subjects that interest him, but quite ignorant of those that don't.
