Okay, going to sound really SAD, but.........
One way I am not looking forward to my girls going back to school, my eldest starts college so she all grown up now and I suppose when she starts college it will be all official
Also had a lot of probs with the youngest and really would like her to stay close to me, I know its SAD and STUPID, but I dont care. I dont want the holidays to end and I am sooooo looking forward to the October break when they will be home again.
But, on the other hand,(which is even sadder) when they do go back to school and college, Ill be going back to work (I work in a school) and I love my job so much I cant wait to start again.
I know you can all call me SAD, MAD and STUPID but dont care, I am what I am biggrin :D :D

I'm with you on this one tigers. I LOVE to have my kids at home during school holidays, always have had even when they were little, think I must be a bit of an odd ball!! lol
However the down side is when they go back, so do I, I also work in education, still I enjoy the job so it can't be all bad. Roll on October :D
dunno
surely if you were out with a friend though female or otherwise it wouldn't have mattered??
:dunno:
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain you don't have to be a member of SH to be able to read the forums. So anyone who 'stumbles' across the site can read everything thats posted here, although they can't post.
So I guess it's not such an invasion of privacy as you might think Aladdin'sLamp. dunno

Thanks again all smile
I had a wonderful day and stayed completely sober Nomad!! lol

I think on here.. everybody has the advantage of being who they really want to be.. It also allows us the luxury of being able to think before we type, therefore making us look witty, smart whatever. In real life, If we did the same as on here.. there would be 3 minute pauses after someone speaks while everyone works out exactly what and how they are gonna say next.
I can be a right chatterbox on the net, and in real life I prefer to listen and be quiet and take it all in..
(I'm also a closet shy guy biggrin )
Except when I'm drunk, when all the old toot I've spouted above gets thrown out the window and I become a party animal !!! drinkies

Spot on.... I'm very much the same. I can talk for hours on the net but in reality I'm a really shy person and struggle to converse or act the way I do on the net.
I guess a few factors contribute to the fact that in RL I'm not totally like my internet persona...I'm not saying it's not me, it's the me I think I should be in RL. (make sense? dunno )

:D
Exactly Onlyme ...... only in my case 'it's the me I wantto be in RL' :dunno:

Alleyson, I'd say get out now, but it's so much more fun to stay, don't you think?

Well I did find the door once but somebody locked it ( think it may have been that Sarge bloke) so it looks like I'm here to stay. Be afraid people, be very afraid!
Quote by freckledbird
Alleyson no don't worry, it just means that you're on the same wavelength as some people on here lol
Then again, that might be cause for concern

I'd be interested but it would depend where and when, I'm afraid so I'll let you all decide and then say yes or no. smile
Hi Lambchop
Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time at the moment. Speaking from experience here you will have crap days and some REALLY crap days, but hang in there.
Echoing what others have said drinking will feel as if its giving you some short term relief from a hellish situation but it's not the long term answer. It could also go against you having access to the children in the future should your wife choose to use that as a factor during your divorce. Just a thought.
As Tune said if you've talked all this through as far as you can with your wife and you can't see any way to make things work, then the best thing you can do is make the break and move out,if finances will allow. It'll not be easy, believe me I've done it, but until you take that step you can't move on and begin to put your new life back in order. I had to stay with my ex for almost 18 months until we sold the house and could sort things out financially and it was hell but once I'd left and started my new single life it was as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
I hope you manage to work out an amicable solution to all this and you get your life back on track. Good luck.

I guess what I'm ask is at what stage and more importantly how do you get to make the leap from greenhorn to expert

It's a funny thing that, there are so many people on here that I consider as the regulars, the core people on the site. One of them posted me last night and said that it was good to meet me 'the (very flattering word indeed) marms at last'. Now, that took me a little by surprise as the guy in question was one of the guys that I consider to be a core member, and in comparison I consider myself a bit of a noob! It looks like he felt similar things about me.
So in answer, I don't think there is a point when you wake up and suddenly you have gone from noob to regular, just be and add a little to the community that is SH, everyone has something good to contribute.
Chris.
I'll probably be shot down in flames for this smile but ............................Marmalaid you really do post some very sensible stuff!! However I get the impression that sensible and Marmalaid are not words that often appear in the same sentence? wink rolleyes
You've either met him or have tremendous insight then!
rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Let's just say I tremendous powers of observation!! :)
