exactly how many of us are left here playing gooseberry anyway?
wonder what we could get up to while the cats are away :rascal:
I want smut :smoke: sex hump and hornyasfookness  tonight please, anythig less and I'm leaving you all for my CSI box set and my mate Jack lol
they have left one or two spies in the camp you know smile - walls have ears, not to mention the cut and paste button rotflmao
Hiya Dave
I think one of the main issues here (the one that springs to mind anyway) is that it's YOUR pub...therefore you personally would financiallyprofit from holding a Munch. Would you be holding it for the benefit of the SH members purely because you have the ideal venue....or because it would be of benefit to you personally? dunno
Also, as an organiser, people put alot of trust in you that things be done 'right', with discretion and regard for attendees safety - hence imo folk would need to 'know' you. I'm not saying you cant do it, & there hasnt been a Munch in Norfolk (to my knowledge) yet, but I do think that perhaps sticking around a bit and letting people 'get to know YOU' rather than 'Dave the pub landlord who owns a potential Munch venue' would stand you in better stead. It would also allow you to get to know the people you intend to invite ..I'm sure you learnt this one from the last doo you organised..- simply throwing open the doors to your own venue leaves you wide open to indiscretion from people who are less that scrupulous about their understanding of what a Munch is. Do you mind your pub being known to all the yocals as a swingers pub and what goes on there on weekends? lol - maybe you dont, going by your profile & pics.....but your Munch attendees might wink
Aside from all that, you would stand to profit from this - all venues do, but they're not usually SH members!
You could try...
search...
search word: leave it blank or anything you can remember them posting, the main topic subject word etc. Dont try doing it with multiple words, it usually gets confused and comes back with nothing lol
author : type in the first bit of their name followed by an asterisk (*) that'll enable a search on partial name. eg: Dark*
edit: of course, this way only works if they have at some point posted in the Forums ...if they're chatroom/ ads only I'm afriad I dunno how to help as I dont *think* the members list is available (still).
hth x
well, I dunno what to say lol
I'm just in awe really of everyone who's posted so far - its not one of those threads where (again) people are posting replies to individual posts...sometimes its enough just to share, read & take in the 'realness' of people's experiences isnt it? I'd kinda like to respond to everyone individually, but wont, but you should know I've got hairs on the back of my neck sticking up and the respectometer going through the roof over here lol worship
please continue

Missy - I think I might have been wrong to try to exclude the people who are immediately close to us (parents, children, partner) because obviously it is they who have the most direct influence...so, please, feel free! kiss

No, I think you're right in the first place, it gives a cracking thread more food for thought when you can't state the obvious biggrin
I can (and do) waffle on about kids/parents/partner all the time ........ they have so much of an impact on my life that the more subtle people get wrongly overlooked.
The thread made me sit back and think - and, until now, I didn't realise how much of an impact my Aunt has on my life.

ah! now that is a bloody good point (or 3 lol)
thankyou lol
Quote by westerross
I had thought of posting something about some Dutch people I have worked with. I have found them to be most engaging and influential but I guess that's not the purpose of the thread.
.

yes it is Choon! if they, or a particular person, has been an inspiration to you, tell us
Missy - I think I might have been wrong to try to exclude the people who are immediately close to us (parents, children, partner) because obviously it is they who have the most direct influence...so, please, feel free! kiss
But I also remember, for example, a teacher, two in fact, at school, who's words and actions had a major impact on me at that time...1 told me I'd never achieve anything & the only places I was destined for was a factory or prison . That one thing has stayed with me for years - to the point of laughing my ass off to myself while blowing up and laminating an A3 size Graduation with BA Honours photo from uni and posting it to him.. with love rotflmao. And the second, who despite having completely despaired of me, gave me a fiver cos he instinctively knew I needed it. (Thankyou.)
So, its anyone really - from obscure folk who just walk into your life & right back out of it again but leave their footprints behind, to those who are immediately close to us through love & family smile
Do you, or have you, had someone in your life...family, friend or otherwise..who has been sooo influential in your life that you could attribute some, or even all of who you are directly to them ?
I dont mean simply 'parents being parents' (although its not to be underestimated) , I mean someone who's really impacted on your life outside of 'usual' roles... a teacher perhaps, an ex, someone professional, like famous people are role models to the young etc etc
I'm posting this not as a melancholy thread, but for people to share their experiences about those who have influenced them, in good ways or bad, or completely changed you life. Maybe its your partner, or your children?
I had the 'summoning family' phone call yesterday telling me the most influential person in my life probably wont last through the weekend with stage-end cancer, and as I'm still sitting here waiting for other family members to arrive before the mafia starts mobilising Northwards, there's always a chance I wont get to tell her just how much she changed the course of 'how things were to be' for me, and to say thankyou. Its certainly a time for reflection.
But like I say, this isnt melancholy, its a positive thread, where you can acknowledge the person who's been the biggest positive influence in your life..and if you can, give them a call eh?
Over to you.

Personally I havent really followed this thread... as I too had a feeling it may well have been for the folk of longer-standing to shre thier own views anout good old days and such like... >just my *feeling*, I cant say that anyone has actually stated this<
lp

banghead fook it I give up smile
I've clearly said what this thread was for, and in the first few pages it was running exactly as I'd hoped - the forum is quiet, so just check in and say why you're not here. It worked perfectly in that there were no 'ohhh i'm sorry to hear that :therethere:' follow-ups or 'ohhh woe is me' type posts - people did what i indended them to do and that was pm their friends and rekindle a few conversations while still letting us all know they're still around and havent deserted us completely. That was it, pure and simple.
Then it all kinda went to pot with a few misinterpretations and digs.....
but, I dont care, people are posting nowarnt they! :bounce: :bounce: :P so I'm off out for coffee..its all yours
No flower, I meant that your sarcasm was unwarranted, you read far more into it than was actually there, and by doing so and posting it, you put that seed of thought into other people's heads. wink

I couldn't help noticing that of all the people who have posted on this thread recently the smallest post count was 600. This means that only old hands are posting or are concerned about the state of the forum.
Why is this?

ready for a bit of controvesy?
because we give a shit.
This thread wasn't just for 'old lags' to post in, it was for everyone, because its not just the old hands who are missing from the forum, the banter and the posts.
But you do raise an interesting point about who has been posting in here & checking in..and those who havent bothered with it wink

Whilst the number of "you post isn't worthy/intersting/valid" people are about than new people things will carry on the same.

Remember the recent steam room storm, when one or two of us posted in there followed by an analogy during a few days of complete disheartenment over the loss of what probably (in my humble oppinion) would have been the best Munch this site has seen so far...
and it was taken completely out of context, proclaimed as being a 'they dont think we're posting up to standard' rant ? and the ensuing onslaught?
where the fook did that come from? dunno It stunned me, and disappointed me into simply not being able to post a reply at the time! But your point above has reminded me of it.
Because it comes from this increasing 'regulars vs newbies' divide that is being created imo, and is almost tangible at the moment. And its bollox!
I'm really quite tired of having to be nice all the bloody time, encouraging pink fluffiness and feeling like I cant post what I think in case it upsets or offends anyone, and instead am limited to all this 'come come, everybody get involved, come on in the water's lovely' shite. And I do think that when the 'good old days' are spoken of, folk do have a point, because they've seen how good the forum can be.
did that sound like I have a million and one things going round and round in my head and they're all trying to come out at once? lol rotflmao
Quote by Miss_Kiss
The constant comparisons to the good old days just makes some people feel inadequate and that they aren't good enough to post on a message board. I mean what has it come to when a new person doesn't feel they can post because it won't be up to the expected standard or isn't a decent enough subject that ads value to the forum that people would dane to answer?
At the end of the day it's the people that make the community not a website. The SH forum is a great facility, if only people were allowed to have fun.
**** DISCLAIMER **** This post is NOT aimed at any one person or persons. If anyone has any issue with what I posted or any questions please feel free to say so.

By the same token though Kiss, there is also the current air that people can't post - not because they dont have valid contributions to make and oppinions to share, but because we have become very fond here of pulling out the bullying card, wolf-pack mentality & far too accepting of the "some people" digs and snide comments, like its 'ok to do this as long as you dont name and shame' rolleyes
what it actually does is create an atmosphere where such posts are automatically seen as digs at others. Sometimes you cant breathe around here anymore without someone waving the 'if you dont like it, fuck off' , 'you dont integrate' or 'yes this is aimed at you but I wouldnt say it to you straight' card. And there are far more of those directed at 'regulars' than there are at 'newbies'.
There's no wonder people are staying away, or simply lurking in the background shaking their head in despair.

We've actually been looking at holiday cottages in Scotland for a long weekend (3 or 4 nights) and there are some that sleep up to twelve. The prices do look quite high but not when you divide it by the number of occupants and the number of nights. Most of them are in their own grounds too (or at least a good distance away from others) when they are that size. Given a good mix of people, it could be a very enjoyable weekend.

I've got one with an indoor pool here, and outdoor hot-tub with no overlooking neighbours etc - its perfect. The price however is not :scared:
back to the drawing board then rolleyes cant we just go claim squatters rights in a castle or sommat? lol

I have a very responsible role and sometimes it is nice to give that all up and be "in control of being out of control" I guess only fellow BDSM'ers will really understand smile

Perfectly! wink
however...... :uhoh: 'fetishes' on the whole to me do not. I just dont get it, any of it dunno Of course each to their own, but even after long interesting conversations with my mind wide open to various things with people who have one particular fetish or another (and sometimes being sat there a bit like this >>>> blink) I dont 'get' even the basic stuff like rubber, feet and worn knickers...and heavy fetish such as hoods/ masks and similar paraphanalia scares the living shit outta me lol

I think the people moaning and mourning should post a good thread and get the forum up and laughing again! ? lol

I agree, but unfortunately it doesn't always workout that way.
Myself and dammie have started and been involved in some funny threads but ther reality is you still need a number of people to bounce off/join in for it to work.
Again, I don't wish that to apear disrespectful to any members on here - it's more of a number of people online thing that makes it difficult
For example - The Avatart Challenge Thread
There'd be a time when if this was bumped everyone would join in and it'd have people howling for weeks.
Now 1 user will post a new pic in it/bump it, they'll be a few posts full of "Ha ha that's really funny", then it just dies again.

i have tried posting a few threads to get some people posting have gone maybe one page and then nothing
or if i post on a thread it tends to get ignored
Indeed, to all
similarly, I've been pulling threads out my ass recently in an effort to get more people posting/ involved....and have had to go back in repeatedly and purposely to bump it up & keep the momentum going 'come on, come on, post, all contributions welcome' type shite - I feel like the bloody childcatcher! I now feel like I'm forcing threads that people either think are crap, or they're just not interested, so what is the fookin point? dunno
well, it was only going to be a matter of time before the 'undercurrent' came to the fore wasnt it.

Then he made me lay on the sofa with my arms underneath me and pulled my jeans down to my knees. He spread my legs just far enough apart so he could slip his hand into my knickers. Kneeling against the sofa, he took hold of my head again and began slowly fucking my mouth while rubbing my clit at the same time, all the time telling me what a dirty slut etc I was
It didn't take me long to come redface and when I had he pulled his cock out of my mouth and wanked it until he came on my lips and in my mouth.
That was the start of one of the most enjoyable evenings of my life  and thinking about it never fails to get me going ;)

Binxy!
omg I gotta go to work in this state! :quiver: anyone free at lunchtime?

Earthy xx

you tryin to tell me you dont have anything (that's postable/ admittable to) that you recall when having a 'ladywank'? (rotflmao)
well, we'd best have the jacuzzi tale then, please
rotflmao guess what song just came on the radio lol
Dark, right now having visions of hard nipples and wet shirts on tanned skin
oh bloody hell, NOW people start posting once I put my foot right in it in the time it takes to write a post and not hit preview before submitting lol
redface
fabulous Kate , thankyou
problem is, the idea behind the thread was really to see who might be interested in something similar to what I had in mind.... who might be posible invitees...and for others to post their ideas and see who else's 'ideal evening' might be along the same lines - hence, a piss poor attempt at getting people together and thinking about 'potentials & possibilities' (despite the current climate). I fear I am wasting my bloody time though tbh.
PM me the details if you can find them though hun, a can feel a weekend break for 2 coming on anyway rolleyes lol
lol log cabin was my initial idea.... but, I cant find one unless its very up in the Scottish Highlands or in the middle of centreparcs with lots of families as neighbours or costs an absolute fortune.:scared:
My ideal one would probably be a holiday cottage (as I cant do it at home)..stone built, inglenook fireplace in a big room with lots of big fat squashy sofas covered in fur throws and conversation flowing along with the wine lol and lost of rooms or 'nooks' where people can simply slip off to, and no one breathes a word of it come daylight lol

i generally stear clear of answering this type of thread because of personal reasons/beliefs
my opinion on my beliefs
Earthy xx

 I agree.
I'm not gonna sit here and defend spell casting - I dont think there is anything to prove to anyone, you believe, or you dont. dunno Trying to convince people otherwise is pointless.
but some food for thought - much of 'spell casting' is based in positive thinking and mental attitude, about chanelling energy into very specific things, and, personally speaking, casting is a craft that acts in the same manner, and same principal as meditation, relaxation techniques or deep concentration - but you dont see many people knocking those! Just because some people choose to do it with, for example, bits of paper & candles, makes them the subject of ridicule and speculation, and very little understanding wink
