Its a tricky one I guess.
We too know people that have the FREE accounts but from what I gather, this is because this is how they signed up originally. There is probably a legal reason that these people cannot be charged if they joined under a 'free membership' agreement. x

Surely the site did not legally bind itself to a lifetime of free membership? It would be interesting to know...
I was a paying member when I joined SH but I think that it was a goodwill gesture when the site was taken over. To go back on that now, to me, would be bad form.

I have nothing to say.
I looked at your pics before I formed my reply to your post.
Sorry.

Blimey... I did too!

We live down here in the SE, and only yesterday we received an e-mail from our regular club about the new price increase it was making for couples and single guys(single ladies no change). Now we use to go there quite regular when it was sensibly priced (around ) but then it went upto and we cut back our visits to once every couple of months. Now in this long winded e-mail it explains their new price increase( for couples), using the VAT increase as one of its justifications(yeah you do the maths). Now to be honest this has killed it for us, does anyone else feel the same way about their clubs or are they reasonable priced. In all honesty we may just give clubs in the SE a wide berth and go to some of the better clubs in the midlands and the North, yes we may that little extra but its something we can make a weekend of it.

That's pretty steep. confused
How much is it for a single bloke just out of interest?
It's always made me a little uncomfortable to go in for free... I dare say it's a perk of being a girl but it's almost like the clubs do the whole holy grail thing too.
I think it's brilliant! Hats off to the person with the sense of humour! :giggle:

Hope you wiped before you gave it back! :giggle:
I seriously doubt that anyone is eyeing me up in the gym.
Other than with a view to considering whether I need an ambulance or not!! :giggle:

Any particular wine or did you just want to disarrange my minimal vestments? :rascal:
I can offer you a nicely chilled NZ Sauvignon Blanc or an equally chilled Chablis. Some Rose (White Zinfnadel) and, for a change, some Chilean Pinot Noir.
What do you fancy?
Will

Well that's a leading question! :rascal:
Erm... can I have a blackcurrant and lemonade please? I might just work up a drooth!
There's a pinot grigio in Sainsburys that's really rather good.
It's organic and has a big SO on the front of the bottle but that's about all I can tell you!! :giggle:
I got a real pair from Aus... I have a fake pair somewhere too but can't remember why I bought them or when I wore them.
They're not the most attractive boots in the world but I tell you what... they're brilliant in the snow and have been invaluable to me over the last couple of months. The grips are ace and have saved me from falling on my arse more than once!
*tugs on the apron strings*
Oops!
I'll have a glass of vino please Will! kiss

Finally I got to the top of the waiting list... I'm pretty miserable now though.
Can someone please tell me that I'll stop feeling ill soon please? dunno

Almost four months later and I'm giving it up as a bad joke.
Made an appointment to have it removed on Tuesday.
Not stopped bleeding and at some point, every day since I had it put in, I've had pain like someone has stabbed me. They said to give it six months to settle... I'm done.
Next suggestion? :dunno:

I can't remember the last time anyone posted "This has been done to death" or "Search is your friend" type responces. I remember they used to abundant but can't remember seeing any recently ie over the last 12 months.
Is it a case of long memories or have I just missed them or ignored them dunno
Dave_Notts

Probably because there have only been 10 new threads in the last 2 years :lol2: all the fresh blood has looked at the previous gadzillion posts and though "hmmmm no point in posting its bound to of been done" No but seriously I think the idea of refreshing the forum so that current users can take ownership of it and would add a contemporary dynamic. Personally i'd love to see it happen.
That! :giggle:

What happens now is if someone new comes along and starts a thread that eros again has been discussed someone often delves back to the past thread and people then think o well and dont post just reads it. We need to let new discussion still evolove today even if we have commented in the past to attact more comments if not sadly the forums will come to a stand still, as either some say been there done that, or here is what we all said last time which is like saying this is boring.

That's exactly the problem. There are a lot of us who have been round the block, some of us twice. We've all seen the threads, sometimes twice and we've all seen the comments about the search button being your friend etc. Sometimes it's refreshing to see a new perspective even if it is an old question. If we don't allow new people to ask old questions then it's pretty clear where we end up... I think we're pretty much there now.
It's been said, it's been done and it'll keep being said and done long after we're gone. In the meantime, what's wrong with saying it and doing it again? It's not like a lot of people hate the sound of their own voice. Bring back the banter, bring back the nonsense, even bring back the stupid questions like "I've been here a week, how do I get a meet" or "why do people waste your time" or even a discussion on the verifications. Thread writers are here, some of us have experience, some of us don't, maybe it's time to start sharing those experiences all over again. Forget the old threads and what it used to be like... make it like you want it and start them again. Old subjects can be new subjects with fresh eyes on them and fresh opinions.
Or if you can't be bothered with that then go down the vaults and bring back some of the funnies. There have been a load of them in my time and a load of them before my time. It can be done, I've seen it done before.
Moaning about it being stale (although I'm totally in agreement with that) isn't constructive. Do something constructive.
I'm not sure I entirely agree... I guess I'm a bit of a defector cause I've found forums elsewhere have kept me hugely entertained over the last few weeks. Perhaps that's cause I've bounced in there and talked shite and felt a bit like a newbie all over again but there are certainly a whole load of threads and they keep on coming.
I don't think you can put it down to a few fun threads... I think it's more likely to be down to attitudes. I fear it's maybe a little more relaxed elsewhere and that probably shows. Maybe with the free members trial in chat it should have been extended to the forums to bring in some new people but would they stay? That's a whole other question. lol
