Well, we have a fantastic Doctor, for instance, couple weeks ago, Shel going upstairs carrying big load of washing, misses last step, bangs her arm quite bad on bannister. Decides its hurting a lot, walks along to our Doctors, no appointment, seen within 15 min, think its fine said Doc, but head up to Hospital get it Xrayed. Thats done and shes home within 2 hours, having been told Xray fine.
Also, we have a cracking NHS dentist, no bother to get seen, not hurried, he rattles on about anything, sometimes in there just chatting for 10 min before / after getting teeth checked.

PS just in case we get loads of Southerners wanting to live up here, remember its always raining, slag heaps dominate the skyline, coal dust fills the air, charvas run riot. In short...Its Grim Up North, best keep away.
Jaymar, bet it was you two we saw in a pub and thought......DEFINATLY!!! Think it was the "we are swingers" T shirt which gave it away.
John & Shel
We play that game all the time and in pubs have been CERTAIN that those people over there ARE swingers, but as its local pubs, we don't take it any further. But if we were in a non-local pub we might try and manouvere ourselves close to the couple and see if a convo could be established.
If so we would ask stuff like, where do you go on holiday? Cap D'adge??? Oh really??? Have you been in any of the clubs there??
Or, do you ever go in Gay pubs? Apparently lots of swingers go in gay pubs, does that mean???
John & Shel
Guess you'll just have to get them made-to-measure Harry!!

If the babies have been born with addictions which were, if you like, "man made" then have they not been abused? And therefore is the NHS not guility of aiding and abetting the abuse?
Think the babies need a good Human Rights lawyer............Cherie........ where are you?
John & Shel
At a club in NE we met.........people from work, people from a few streets away, and people who we knew from taking kids to nursery together. We were all as surprised as each other.
John & Shel
There's more Geordies on here than in the whole of Tyneside!!
John & Shel
We had a most excellent night, met some great people. Thanks MrC!!
John & Shel
Are you sick of life Dave?
John & Shel
If its a Friday then we'd be up for it (assuming the dates OK of course).

As the Social mentioned by Darkfire was the first munch / social we had attended since the now famous Manchester Munch (and we didn't see anything untoward there either) we wondered how the social would go. We were warned beforehand to be very discreet etc. But to be honest we had a great time, we did do our normal amount of snogging with friends and met some new people as always.
As the attendance was only about 50 people it made a good change from the more (can't think of the right word here so will use) "intense" Munch with over 200 people attending.
We think that Munches are still great fun and perhaps we "old hands" should try and remember how exciting the first ones were for us. Maybe recent members think the Munches they have been to were pretty great as well.
John & Shel
Earthy,
Maybe the problem is that you did too much, too fast. You certainly exploded onto the site / scene with a bang, attended loads of socials, loads of postings on the forums and made lots of friends.
Possibly now its becoming "samey" not so much of a thrill anymore? I've seen the same thing happen in various walks of life. People put loads of effort into something new and then "burn-out".
Perhaps easing back a bit until you get your enthusiasim (sp?) back will help?
John & Shel
Are you going to Prague, Sam? we're going in Oct.
Haven't booked a hotel yet tho, any advice welcome. And haven't choosen which swingers club to go to either!!
John & Shel
Looks like we'll be there.

Just read in the paper today that the Indian Gov, is relaxing the rules on Westerners adopting Indian orphans, ie will be a quicker process.
However, while the Indian Gov will allow single people to apply to adopt, they will not allow same sex couples.
John & Shel
Please mark us down as confirming please.

Yeah, but if they can't come will they be singing "Are you lonesome tonight?

Without adding an opinion (maybe later), there was a discussion on this very topic on the radio a while ago. One person made a comment which seemed to stop the discussion stone dead, it was;
"The best mother and father team will always be better in bringing up a child than any other combination".
For example, if you had a mother with the nature of Mother Teresa (for instance) and a father like Nelson Mandella (for instance), then the qualities they would bring together to rearing a child are far greater than two Mother Teresa's or two Nelson Mandella's.
But trying to work out the combinations of quality parenting must be almost impossible, which is better, a mother teresa single parent or an average married couple?
Way beyond me that one.
John
Can only speak as part of a couple here, obviously! When we're looking thro the swingers ads for potential "meets" 90% of the time its me (John) who looks at all the likely ads then filters out the ones which aren't in our "comfort zone / target area".
Then I'd show Shel the remainder to narrow the selection down based on her preferences.
Is this the same with all couples, ie one does the main sorting. Or do others look at all ads together. Or is it sometime the case that one partner picks a couple and says, "we're meeting them" without consulting their other partner?
John & Shel
Probably is easier for couples. Speaking to some single men at Munches, they often say that just to speak to couples in clubs is a big step, as just polite convo can be seen by couples as being "hit upon". Couples can naturally speak to other couples without that feeling.

Every June Newcastle has "the hoppings" said to be the largest fair in Europe.
At least 60 big rides and 120 sideshows. You can spend A LOT of money there!!
Still like walking round it for the atmosphere, but had my fill of the rides long time ago.
John & Shel
Nobodies mentioned a theme for this Social yet. How about..........everybody has to wear...........RED SHORTS????????????
That would be fun wouldn't it?????
All in favour?????
John & Shel
We were in brief contact with a couple, we wanted to meet, but apparently that would be impossible "because their dog had diabeties and needed injections too often".
Heard a good one in a now closed club a couple of weeks ago. One man had to pop out for a while as "he'd had a phone call and someone was breaking into his allotment and pinching his cabbages"............ in February??
Odd thing was, he left his wife alone at the club till be came back.
John & Shel
I thought the red shorts had been exorsised and burnt at the stake at a crossroads at midnight!!
Do they re-incarnate themselves, like some evil vampire???
