I think it's almost an impossibility that you could ever think up a nick that nobody has thought of before, and there's a very good chance that when you try to register a new email or forum account you'll find the name you want has already been used. Most people will then add an underscore or the highly original number 69.
The number in my addy (which, in an astonishing break with tradition, is NOT 69) is there for that reason... icepie was already taken. Obviously that's why I don't get many meet requests... you're all accidentally emailing the wrong Ice Pie. rotflmao

Fight? What fight?
Are we so un-grown up we can't have opposing views without calling it a fight?

You know-I think we did already ;)

Damn I missed it.

Correct me if I misunderstand this thread...
It's OK to be proud of being anything except English. Being proud to be English is racist. Being proud to be anything else is absolutely wonderful.
Did I get that right? biggrin

No Ice, the general start to the thread was its OK to live in the UK if u r English...anyone else seems to be persona non grata...
Minx x x
That's not what he said initially, but loads of people jumped on him nevertheless. Granted he doesn't seem to be aware that there's a difference between England and the UK, but I was actually referring to the strange rule that seems to be in effect here, namely that it's OK to be proud of your roots and your country, provided you are not English, and that if you ARE proud to be English, you must therefore be a racist. Rather odd behaviour for a community which claims to be opposed to prejudice I thought. dunno
I suspect a few people are just trying to score some easy political correctness points here. confused

hi this may sound silly but does any one realy meet on here or is it that we are too far away from peeps can any one giveus some ideas where we may be going wrong

In the words of Multivac, "Insufficient data for meaningful answer."
Are you advertising? How long have you been advertising? How specific is your ad? Do you respond to ads? How specific are your responses?
I think a lot of people are let down by their methods, but at least as many are let down by their expectations. You may not be "going wrong" at all, but may just have unreasonable expectations about the speed of results.
I can only speak for myself of course, but the quick fix has never been my personal motivation. I've made many real friends through this site but played with very few. I've never been in a hurry to get into anyone's pants, just let things develop naturally, and I'm extremely happy with how things have turned out. Don't try to force it, just sit back and enjoy the ride (so to speak ;) ) is my philosophy. biggrin

Have you moved on from a relationship harbouring dreams to be involved in the swinging scene, say your ex partner or wife/husband. They may have known you wanted it but weren't interested so you dropped it
Then you indulge solo or find a partner who also likes the scene. :!:
Have they found out about your new hobbie either through accident or other and if so what was their reaction. I know my ex would use it against me sad

The reactions range from:
"You were never that adventurous when you were with me."
to
"That is just SO bloody typical of you!"

redface
... should wait longer than 5 minutes for an answer before logging out rotflmao
Seriously though, I was wondering... if the other party is online, how long do you wait for a response to a PM before deciding they probably wish you were dead? :lol2:
Incidentally, speaking of time, could someone technically minded, like Jags maybe, explain to me why the clock is wrong? bolt

Ice pie, when we were leaving the hotel, the table was clear, no phone on it.... Marms car??

What ARE you suggesting? I have NEVER been on the back seat of Marms' car. The very idea! Shame on you, Sir.
(He's going to check in the morning. lol )
The difference between a Chat PM and a Forum PM is in the forum it's not intrusive... it doesn't pop up and disrupt what you're doing, you go read it whenever you want, so the specific reason that unsolicited PMs are not allowed in chat doesn't apply in the forum.
The only etiquette regarding unsolicited forum PMs that I'm aware of is that you be respectful and don't pester, especially if the recipient doesn't know you.

Hello all! Thank you for making me feel so welcome. Had a wonderfull time and looking forward to the next get-together.
Many thanks to Devon1and Skimpy. Marcuso and Ice pie. Great night. Good to meet those who were there at last.
Just to prove that I actually exist - aka Mrs TE!

A joy to finally meet you Angelica. Please come again. kiss
This wasn't the first Munch held at a non-exclusive venue, and personally I don't have a problem with it. The people who approached us were charming and OK, we were lucky... people could have been given more information than they were prepared for and may have taken offence... in the event, that didn't happen, but it's a possibility, and I think it should always be made absolutely clear if a venue is not exclusive to the group. I for one was not aware, but I arranged to be at this one very late on so I may have missed some details in the run up.

Except... did anyone pick up a blue & white Nokia in the hotel bar this afternoon?
I got as far as the station, realised I'd left my phone in the bar, went back, and it had gone. Tried calling it, no answer.
Gits! mad
