Well, if we all die then i'd have to say the answer is.... yes... lol

Dammit, and I was looking forward to the final munch innocent
Well, we've managed to sort out things this end Harry/Norfolk, so we will definitely be there on the 24th.
H has done beer festivals before, and will be happy wandering around seeings there is a relatively small group of people coming, but should other fems/blokes/couples want to have a meet on that day but don't fancy the beer festival, then she would be equally happy sitting in a pub. As for me............ well I just do as I'm told
In case some of you are wondering where we are (physically) coming from....... well according to terestial TV we fall into the Anglia region so I guess that makes us tractor drivers lol, even though we live nearer to London than Norwich. But as NorfolkBBW knows from PM's I have spent quite a bit of time in Norwich, but haven't been back for over 20 years, so it will be interesting to see the changes.
See you there
M & H
Edited to add, it is interesting that Harry is the only oldie coming, all the rest of us are newbies (relatively) is this putting people off?
Edited again to add H says......... err no, it's YOU that is putting people off......... oh ok I'll shutup now blink

Right i want to let of steam about something
(sorry going to totally change the subject here)
Last night my 11 year old daughter, while out with her friend at the shops, was attacked by a fully grown man, she has a mobile which she wears round her neck on one of these rope thingys all the kids wear, anyway he decided he wanted her phone and grabbed it snapping the cord and as kids do she tryed to stop him at which point he punched her in the face and kicked her a few times around the legs area, now lucky for my daughter she was outside the shops and some people coming out the shop who saw what was happening came to her aid, as you can imagine she was pretty shaken when she got home but sadly she didn't know the guy who did it and neither did anyone who witnessed the attack so i wondred if it was worth calling the police.
But when i got up this morning it was playing on my mind and i decided i had to call the police just incase he hurt any other kids so they at least had a record of the guy and who to look out for, so i called the local police station and told them what happened and in reply i got......so what do you want us to do about it? so i explained that i though they may have been grateful for a description incase it tryed it again etc and in reply i got.....well if you find out who he is give me a call and we'll see if we can help, we are to busy to come out for such minor incidences at the moment
now excuse me but isn't it their job to find out who criminals are? as for minor incidence, ok so as it happens she was luck there was people around to help but had she been away from the shops would he have stopped and ran off when he did?
is it really safe for me to be walking the streets looking for a guy who has no problem punching children?
not sure wether i'm more ranting over the :censored: who hurt my child in the first place or the total lack of interest i got from the police
but thats it rant over mad

Hhhmmmmmmmm...................... when I first started reading this NN, I was screaming out inside "Call the bloody Police for christs sake", this is serious. But then you go on and describe the attitude the police had towards you, and frankly I can understand why people just don't bother with the police anymore.
Different subject but where I live we have had problems with youths for a couple of years now, A group of us have got together and have given the police (and the local council) a hard time......... hey presto we are finally seeing some action.
NN I would not be happy having to see what you saw last night, and I wouldn't be happy with the response you were given either. Call your local nick and ask to speak to the Inspector in charge (they tend to have a duty inspector) Tell him in no uncertain terms you are unhappy with the response you have received.
OK they can't do anything this time, but at least a description, properly recorded, could possibly stop this happening to someone else.
Good luck with it Hun.
I got 16/16........................ but I did have 3 goes
only got 2 on the first attempt

Is the venue wheelchair accessible? Not for me, you understand... I'll be transported by jug, by then.

Of course, and unlike some others  as I will be dressed fit to serve a king, and acting the true gentleman (whatever the feck one of them is) I'll just admire the jugs smile

Aaahhhhh well that could work .................. wink but I guess it depends on whether the real ale lovers intend to stay at the festival until they stagger/roll/crawl/get thrown*..... out at the end of the evening
* (delete as appropriate)

Aha you are alive Jezzay biggrin Well you ladies could sit down all civilised in another pub drinking wine, but the whole point of this is so I get to socialise with some women for a change. I could goto a beer festival at a pub near here if all I wanted to do was stay until I stagger out (I'm far well too behaved to get thrown out and drink sensibly so dont roll or crawl though have to admit to once thowing up in a pub (but I made it to the actual toilet itself thus making no mess at all)), anyway personally speaking I would even give up a pint or two of my beloved beer (and I am a CAMRA member) to share a bottle of wine with Jezzay and H elsewhere (even though I don't like wine myself)
By the way H if they have Goff's Black Knight on that is like drinking alcoholic marmite, just like your fav condom flavour (had Goffs BK at Chelmsford Winter Ale Festival, and a half of one of his other fine beers in a particularly splendid pub I found before the Leicester Munch).
Well we are now upto almost 800 views (I can't believe a thread started by me could ever be that popular) but still only one confirmed female, but at least there are some possibles now. Keep those requests coming in ladies.
Regards
Harry Jones
Well without trying to hijack anything here Harry, why don't you consider 2 venues, a pub or Bar for those who don't want to go to the Beer Festival, and the festival itself for those that like real ale............
Maybe everyone meets up at the pub for a quick beer and chat, those that prefer the pub can stay, and those that do go to the festival return before closing time, for another couple of drinks and a chat, and away you go everybody is happy and maybe there would be a few more members for the next meeting of the Norwich Book Club?
Just a thought and maybe it wouldn't work, but you never know.

I am against anything or anyone who seeks to gain extra rights ABOVE THOSE WHICH THEY ALREADY HAVE ......

Hang on a mo
It wasn't that long ago that women was having to fight for extra right ABOVE THOSE WHICH THEY ALREADY HAD, and them ritghts was to vote, for equal pay, equal jobs etc, if you was around then would u also have been against that too? because but your very own wording YES you would have
Ali.. women didn't have the SAME rights as anyone else.... they had LESS ..... so no, I would not have been against Mrs Parkhurst and her equal rights movement. Many women did actually sacrifice themselves upon the altar of equality and I respect that enormously. If it wasn't for them then we would have a very male-biased society today.
But i think thats what gays are after, they to had less rights and are fighting for the same, how long was it b4 the age of consent was dropped for gay sex? how many TS's was sent to male prisons? how long has it taken for same sex marrages to be seriously considered as ok? gay couples to adopt or foster? the list is endless, i do not believe they are fighting for more right, just the same righs as everyone else and its taken a long time for them to get them and in some case's still fighting, i really do undersnad where you are coming from, if they want to be equal just live without a special day like the rest of us! lol i do get that, but maybe its these special days they have that made people listen so we are where we are at today, maybe if gays did just sit on their bums and not talk about there sexuality they would not have the rights they have now, because noone would know they wanted them confused
just my opinion tho
And a good opinion as well Spot on
Quote by Wishmaster
There is no equality between people, there never has been and never will be.. it starts in the playground and extends it's reach right through our lifetimes. It is extremely niave to believe that democracy can bring about equality. Even the most 'equalitarian' political bias - Communism - cannot work because it means someone has to be in charge to ensure that everyone is equal - and that's not equal is it - one guy (or a committee of people) in charge of everyone else.
There are leaders and there are followers, there are winners and there are losers. Equality is a myth, and to combat inequality society seeks to peg back the 'haves' to the level of the 'have nots' - the lowest common denominator.
There are many rules and cons used against us in every aspect of our lives and it is all centred around the transference of power from one person to another - namely from YOU to them. I know what these rules are and I know when they are being used against me, ergo my power cannot be taken from me, only I can give it away.
So what's the answer?
'I don't give a shit' is the only answer you can have - live your life as best you can, ensure that those around you are happy with you as a person and to hell with all the rest. I'm sure not going to give a flying fook about someone in another part of the world who doesn't even know my name. But I'm not letting ANY government con me into thinking that I should care coz governments change and when they do so do their policies. It's all bullshit.

Wishmaster you are spot on with what you say, about the reality of leaders and followers, BUT what happens when the followers stop following?
Would any leader (read politician) be prepared for example, to take away votes for women? of course not, not only would it be a political disaster, but it would almost certainly go against what that politician believes the society they live in should be like. Yet barely 100 years ago there were leaders (politicians) that felt women should not get the vote. What changed them, and what changed society?
A few women who fought sufferage, and brought it to the publics attention (the followers). It took a long time, but eventually the leaders had to listen to the followers, and the rules changed.....
It still happens, today. We only have the laws regarding homosexuality becuase the leaders have had to listen to the people. It takes a long time to change things, but it can and does happen.
Your last paragraph?............. well that is your personal choice, and yes it is a choice I would defend.
Quote by Wishmaster
I did read and answer it Angel ....... gay people already have equal rights under the law as non-gay people .... I wasn't aware that they need anymore than the rest of society.
All I am trying to say here is that the media are forever pushing us down the PC route and I'm getting a bit sick of ppl telling me i'm homophobic, racist, sexist, ageist, ... and any other 'ist' or 'ism' that they want to label me with simply because I have a different view than them.
Sexual orientation is not something that should confer special status upon a specific group of people as then it becomes detrimental to other people who don't belong to that demographic section of society.

Like you Wishmaster, I at first glance I get pretty tired of a lot of things that happen in this PC world of ours..... It goes against the grain for me becuase I am a firm believer of "FFS just get on with it"
But unfortunately, when I really think about things that happen around us (such as what is being discussed here), I do realise that whilst many minorities (such as this) are protected by law, they are not protected from those out there with different moral outlooks or those that are just plane bigoted, hence there is a need for Pride events. It is only by having these events, will things ever change for the better for the minorities in our society.
I said a few pages back in this thread, that I am a firm believer in freedom of speech and choice, I think most of us in this society we live in will probably feel the same way. So lets be tolerent of minority groups having "their day", and you never know, if we actually listen, we may all learn something.
