..........Im going to eat you....
You should be on the telly. lol   Then I realised your from Scotland, nobody is funny up there....
You clearly have not seen River City.... biggrin
Congrats on tying the knot.. :D
I was just wondering if we could come up with some ideas to improve the state of the nation as Im concerned that Mr Kent is on the verge of a breakdown due to his many concerns..I have no reason to disbelieve that Mr Kent is a hard working man ( he makes many references to this) but it strikes me as rather sad that someone so apparently comfortable is not enjoying himself more..Surely if this great nation has ppl in it who work hard for their money and are not enjoying themselves to the extent they are on here often complaining about its state we the more happy ones have a responsibility to cheer him up..
I looked through the posts in current affairs this week and the only one he did not comment on was Nola's comic one..the fun one...
I did also notice that his posts were at hours where he may not be getting a regular sleep pattern..this will also impact on his health, as you know especially the hard working ones
uninterrupted sleep is essential..
I have no doubt that Mr Kent is a true Brit with the nations best interest at heart so come on ppl lets all find ways of removing this wedge from his shoulder to let him enjoy all this hard earned money and live a little.. smile

Drinking can be a bad idea at the best of times, I have lost count of the times things have gone wrong when I've had one too many. I remember drinking in Newhaven one night a couple of years or so back. I had been to the off license beforehand and had some strong cider stashed for the bus home, which I obviously missed. After doing the whole session in the boozer I found myself having to walk home. Trouble is I was somewhat disorientated and had to stop a gang of youngsters for directions. I tried to remember what they said, but after walking for well over an hour found out that I was heading towards Lewes and not Brighton. I decided to take a shortcut back accross some feilds and clambered over a barbed wire fence and hedge next to the roadside, straight into a six foot deep ditch, it was next to a cowfield and the water was up to my chin in really smelly water. Worse still my feet were stuck in deep mud and I was seriously panicking. I managed to grab some bramble bushes and barbed wire and scrambled out, cutting my hands and fingers as I struggled. I still had the bag with the cider in it, but the mobile phone in my pocket was knackered. A car stopped but the driver refused to let me get in because I was soaked and stank to high heavens. Then I was stood in the itch dark in the middle of the road starkers wringing out my clothes and putting them back on. After walking back to Newhaven drinking my cider I managed to get a taxi home.
It took three baths and a shower to get the filth and the stink off me, but upon reflection I know I was lucky. It wasn't my first narrow escape or my last, as you get Oder andmore experienced you learn your lessons. Unfortunately you forget all you have learned after about eight pints.
My advice is to avoid gettning rat arsed unless you are in familiar suroundings with people you know and trust. So unless you know you can stop after just a couple of bevvies and won't be tempted to let go and get pissed, don't drink when swinging.

Its good to see im not alone.. wave

we have 5 telivisons, and to be in our house 1 with sky and the other 4 with built in digi, and to be honest most of the prgrams we watch are the wildlife ones or the road rage types of programes, nowt else worth shouting about

FFFF Five....That must be great...I think...you must have a biggggg house...which also must be great....I like the cinema myself...never get ads interrupting you..and one of the best places for that truly social feeling of strangers sharing emotions, laughing together, being totally depressed together, being moved as one...like passengers on a funfair ride!! god bless the cinema :smile2:
That bridge in kincardine also deprived our doggers of a rather secluded site..unless there are some particularly brazen doggers still using it... sorry off the thread..just thinking out loud!
another calamity up here was the introduction of tolls on the forth road bridge...they restructured it causing massive tail backs not long after they decided to do away with them....more tail backs.....then they decided to build a new bridge...in kincardine! (which has helped i have to admit)
Come to Edinburgh and you will witness the mother of all shambles with the tram venture!!..(if you do come, leave the car behind and buy some decent walking shoes !)

I agree tho'... there is a difference between common and socially acceptable.
A fair proportion of society's ills are deemed to be the 'fault' of single mothers.. teenage mums especially. That would mean that it isn't socially acceptable at all it is just 'common'.

A fair proportion of society's ills are deemed to be the fault of lets say.. Homosexuality(Gay marriages;gay parenting;) the aforementioned single mums; females being ordained etc etc.. does this mean that they too are just common and not socially acceptable? .. I would hope not.. confused:
Ahem, I think I may be able to help you with that....
yeah, homosexuality is certainly not socially acceptable. It is more common but is not something that anyone would see as a positive for the most part. (I know that this will shock those of you who don't care ) there are even some people who get killed in this country because of their sexuality. There are people who are bullied at work , have their children removed by social services. Spat at in the street .... ummm oh, the list goes on. I would say that being gay here is less socially acceptable than being a single mum.
So you can hope all you like Mark_July. It is common that is all.
Females being ordanied ? Much the same. You will recall the influx from the Anglican Church to the Catholic of priests and congregation because of their ruling... ?
It was the reference to a fair proportion of society's ills bit that i wondered about....i would say that a fair proportion of society's ills are caused be the ppl who cannot socially accept the above mentioned..
Yes Soul your above comments are a prime example of what is wrong in this once great country of ours.
I have had a raging toothache all week culminating into a nasty infection. I visited my dentist ( NHS BTW ) and was seen for five minutes for them to give me a prescription, which they did. I got charged for that privilege and then had a to pay a further 15 quid for my two items at the chemist. That works out to and I have not even gone down the road of tooth extraction costs yet.
I pay over 300 quid EVERY month for my NHS contributions,...
It is not just the NHS...
Im just picking up on your NHS bits.. It was originally set up so the rich could pay for the poor..
Watch Michal Moores Doc called Sicko..although the NHS may not be the greatest system its not the worst and I do think even someone like you...(I know i dont know you, but i do get the impression you have a large chip on your shoulder, what that arises from i dont know so im trying not to be too judgmental)..might benefit from opening your eyes and realize that life really is not so bad here in Britain.
An example of the system in America..A guy lost the tops of two fingers whilst at work, he was left with the dilemma... tip of middle finger sewn back on..$60,000. Tip of wedding finger sewn back on $12,000.... Im glad we have the NHS and dont mind having to pay my bit...which in the great scheme of things is only a bit..cheer up .. kiss
Tis when i watch it with my youngest son while he stays over..tis our little secret biggrin
I dont think the two should go hand in hand. I dont drink much myself....
A Scot who does not drink much..... I dont drink at all...maybe we should meet for an Irn Bru..... biggrin

Had a chat with me whilst i was lurking in a coatroom one night.. skulking more like.. biggrin

I have just walked home and passed a chalk board outside a pub giving notice of the next quiz night, I wonder if we will see signs up in future giving notice of the next swinging night.. biggrin That would be a nice world to live in..
I still think your just getting involved in armchair politics, which is of course your right but it just seems so pointless whilst your only basis for an argument is.. why should I work, pay tax whilst there are so many scrounging bastards out there fleecing the state...of course ppl take advantage of situations, but ppl with jobs take advantage of situations, a friend of mine works in a local tip and he and his wife go to car boot sale weekly to supplement their income from other ppls garbage, they are not supposed to but hey, in all walks of life ppl take advantage of situations, tis the way of the world, it just seems to me your jumping on a band wagon as benefit fraud is such an easy target, but I reiterate my point, the system is flawed as I found out due to my own personal experiences, and anyway if your so concerned with the whole thing go and stand as your local constituent and go try to make a difference or would that be too much like hard work? confused:
