uhm..not so...drunken driving is not something you should do, because it's potentially harmful to others and yourself.. along the same principle, giving anybody the right to smoke in my face equals allowing him to bring me harm..
so..why should there be a law that punishes who drives under the influence and might cause me harm, and not one against smoking in my face, which is also likely to cause me harm?
the argument doesn't hold water..in fact, if anything it gives the non smokers side more ammo.

I don't know much about "british" but I've found that in most countries I've visited, the main theme is "we're sensible people who want to get on with life, wish nobody harm and love what freedom we have"
except very few people, when put to the test by life, social or political events or a challenging opposition, seem to be able to do as they preach.
and that seems to be true no matter what side of what border you're on.

goes to show I'm really "new" to the country. I never realized until reading this topic, that you can't find porn movies..in england...I'm very surprised, to say the least!
in a country "free" and sexually liberated ..the country that invented dogging, you can't buy porn :shock: :shock:
in italy you can buy them in most newspaper stands/dealers, in all automatic dvd rental shops and in all sexy stores of the anne summers persuasion.. (and we've got the pope on our doorstep, for pete's sake! biggrin

:D )
serious question: has it always been so? and how come?

very true...it keeps recommending me profiles that either do not exist at all or profiles of single males, bi or straight. either way they're pretty much the opposite of what I'm looking for, as if it was done on purpose.
I don't know much about IT, but I'm pretty sure it's no biggie for a good codewriter to limit the profiles that compare in those listings to a sex/age/interests limited list adequate to the profile settings.
why not just do it and get over with it instead of passing for a greedy twat?
if that's too much trouble, why not at least change the "contact member icon" that's on top of the listed nicknames in something useful to at least have an idea of the listed name's sex?

the old classics, where the porn scenes were part of a storyline rather than just thrown in your face, the women mostly real instead of made of plastic, and quite often enjoying themselves rather than striking a pose.
and some of those people were real actors too (admittedly not very good ones, but better than what you get to see today)
