To form an opinion on a topic or issue I believe the following!
By reading newspapers or watching the news is just an item or report based on that one person’s interpretations of that item or topic.
To gather ones own opinion is to question and listen to others views research such issues see whats happened before, gather facts from all sorts of resources only then in my opinion can we gathered enough facts to form our own opinion.
But I do find a lot of people are unable to gather their own opinion as they believe totally what they have read, or seen by a couple of resources.
But there are a lot here that have an opinion but keep an open mind, we read what others say and think.
I like to think others can help me change my opinion as we don’t know all the facts and sometimes what people say can make me see something in a different light that I haven’t thought of before.
We all form our opinions in different ways and we are all entitled to do so.
How do you form an opinion?
Are you open to change you opinion?

I would love to hear FB'S comments on this post. As she is a teacher I am sure she and her fellow teachers, have to deal with this thing on a daily basis. I can only imagine some of the horror stories the childs act has created not just for the teachers, but the police and in some cases the parents.
Yes kids should have rights but to get those rights, you have to be a member of the human race and society. They do have way too many rights, but it is a situation this tosser Government has created.
Human rights are one thing, but you should have to earn those rights, and not have them given to you if you prove, not to be part of a normal society.
FB.... I await your comments.

Seeing as I have been accused of things here about my posting, I thought I would go back over the last 20 pages in the cafe to see how many threads I have done.
The answer going back to early August is 23 threads.
Now I have put these into 3 sections. Strong subjects, the ones people seem to be maoning about. The total is 8 threads. Second is the debatable ones like..do you feel sorry for the banks or would you shop your own child. The total is 7. The other one is the one I would call funny threads like...ouch...I bet that hurt or...where did you meet your partner. The total for that is 8 threads.
So after totting all that up I have there or there abouts, done three different topics and they are all the same ammount.
Now If it would have been 15 strong and 1 funny and 5 debate, I would have said that is too much but..... It seems to me that I have not gone overboard on the strong subjects. Go back and check for oneself, I was a bit suprised.
I feel I have balanced up the topics and have not gone for more strong subjects like I thought I may have done. So I feel 3 catagories, 3 different kind of things to talk about, is not as bad as some would make out possibly. Check it out and if I am wrong, then I will stand corrected.
It seemed to me that I was being accused of doing every thread as a link from a newspaper on a strong subject. That is not the case at all. I have done a balanced string of subjects.
I cannot help it if people do not like the third of subjects that I talk about. What about the other 2 thirds, which is the majority?

Hang on a sec here.....
This is a forum right? A place where people are allowed to express their opinions on subjects others put up for discussion.
Why is it all i'm seeing now is people decrying what others are saying and worse still the person themselves, whether its from a political point of view, because they are backing someone else up or some other reason.
I'm sorry, but no one persons opinion has any more weight than anybody elses, whatever it is that is posted (bearing in mind the law firstly and the AUP afterwards) it should not be subject to others trying to censor it simply because they do not like or agree.
I, although a pretty long standing member am relativley new to posting on this forum, I started posting because I saw a constant stream of sensible, adult topics and discussion of them along the same vein. In the last few days I have seen posts that imho do not deserve a place amongst the obvious quality that is the norm for this forum, this saddens me, because it appears I may have been wrong in my original thoughts.
No one should feel it necessary to leave a forum because of what others post, that is sad, however the opposite side of that coin is no one should feel pressured or guilty about expressing their own opinions, no matter the subject and bearing in mind again the governing rules. I personally think we all need to draw breath here, because I can see this forum coming apart at the seams, battle lines are being drawn and sides are being picked, it is ridiculous beyond comprehension to me.
At the end of the day, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one, some are the perky, attractive ones people like, others you wouldnt go near in a million years, there still as valid as each other. It's everyones choice at the end of the day, good honest debate should be what this forum is about, at the moment, the vitriol is coming from both sides and in vast quantities.......

This is exactly what is pissing me off with this site at the moment. Petty arguments that just aren't needed are far to common.
Please people, if you don't like a thread, don't post in it!
Winchwench can leave the site however she chooses, quietly or naked on a white horse. It is her decision alone.

Oh yes another one of those threads.
I know we all like the nice strong debates.![]()
Here we have yet another family who seem to have no problem dishing out the kids.
Now whislt it seems HE cannot work, what about HER trying to earn a few bob like the rest of us?
The cost of keeping this kind of family is crippling us as there now are just so many. Granted he has health issues, but it seems she has never worked and if she had her way, she never would.
Send HER out to work so the benefits we have to pay to her as taxpayers is reduced a bit. Why is it that when one partner is too ill to work, the other does not either?
It seems...lucky them, that they already have 3 grands worth of Xmas prezzies already wrapped up under the tree. I wonder how many WORKING parents out there, are worried about the expense of Christmas? Not for this family is seems.
When we have pensioners out there who this coming winter will have a choice of heat or food, because of the massive rises in energy bills. This family will not have the same all the money they are getting it seems they are still not happy.
The next time you see an eldery neighbour who has probably worked all their lives and never claimed anything ( in their day, they could not )thinking about their heating bills this winter, spare a nice thought for the freeloaders out there, who get it all.
Anyone for tennis?

A thought occurred to me this morning!
The reason I am asking, is because I have posted threads where things have gone a little out of control, I feel responsible that I started the thread, although the arguments haven’t been on the back of the original topic.
It leaves me wondering if I should have started the thread in the first place, as arguments were not my intent.
When you post a thread are we in anyway responsible in making sure it doesn’t run into problems with people arguing?
I know mods are here, checking that the forums are running smoothly and a great job they do to.
But I also wondered if a thread is seen to be causing a stir is it the original posters responsibility to try and calm the situation or report it or ask for it to be locked if a Mod isn’t around?
What are your views?
