:bolt:The forum has ALWAYS been good to me. When I went through a really bad patch with my best mate my friends on here gave me all the support I needed at the time. When I have needed advice they've been there - even on such trivial things as computer sound cards. When I went away - it wasn't because the forum was boring or anything like that - I just had to concentrate on RL for a while.
Personally I have made some lasting RL friendships on here that I will always cherish.
I have laughed, I have cried and I have had a damn good amount of fun. Oh yes - I've also ranted and made an arse of myself a few times.
But I wouldn't change this place for the world

ops:Well, what can I say? A whole year ago yesterday I introduced msyelf (by hijacking another thread in good SH fashion :P ). Aah - you say - but your jopining date says 15th Oct. Well - for those of you who don't remember - I originally joined as Shynewbie (something Dammie reminds me of at every chance he gets ), but soon changed it becuase in SH no-one can be shy.
So I have spent a year here - okay so I went away a bit over the summer when I was very busy - but you were all with me in my thoughts - much more than you know!
All of you on SH became a kind of virtual family for me. When I wasn't sure about something I asked you - and you responded in all your different ways - and I thak you for that! In the year that has passed I have grown a lot. The high flying job went and I went back to being a poor student. You supported me on ways you cannot imagine!
I acknowledged my sexuality and even won over a few "straight" women on the way :P . But most of all I made some really good, lasting friendships that I cherish to this day!! Nothing will change the way I feel about those people - whether they remain "virtual" or "real" - they are all real to me!
So thank you all for giving me a home in the virtual world. Thank you Mark for providing the means for this, and thank you to those who became friends I will never forget!!!

:love: :love:My thoughts mirrored TE's when I first read this. I thought "oh no - not again" nd then " actually - nothing changes whenyou go away for a while does it?!" Thing is - things DO change becuase the peopel change. But newbies will always be newbies and as newbies you/they will always be more sensitive to what established forum users will see as the norm - and in some cases as actually being accepted. I don't want to even start counting the numbre of threads I have had hjacked and flown to outer space (!!). At first I was upset, annoyed, upset etc - but after a year enjoying the banter on here I know what goes on and I actually enjoy and laugh with the hijackers.
We've been through the whole "oldies in a clicque" thing - and we tried to change it - but you can't becuase it is human nature. The best thing to do is laugh, join in, laugh some more and just have some damn good fun - because that's what we're all here for surely?

But I think the "strange" bit is only becuase it isn't "normal" as perceived by society. I have enjoyed my swinging relationships, but, unlikeyou Bluexxx I feel something is missing without the emotional attachment. But, then again - I have really enjoyed the experiences I have had - and wouldn't trade the friends I have made for anything!!! And I miss sleeping with some of them :twisted:
