We've had a couple of these events and our last in January had 5 guys invited and they all showed up as expected :twisted:
It's all down to getting to know someone enough to be sure they will turn up when they say they will.
We have never had a no show (yet!), whether it's been a single guy or a group, which I'm sure is luck in part, but getting to know someone in any form, email, phone etc plays a big part.
It need not mean weeks of ping pong emails if you can weed out the time wasters fairly quickly.

Oh and one last thing, this is also a family beach, where even in the dunes, children will be playing.

As you say, sadly all the local spots are now spoilt for one reason or another. My goodness we've seen some changes over the last three years! It's certainly not as it was that's for sure.
Sorry I won't give out location details to anyone I don't know, but suffice to say you need to move out a little further from Bournemouth now to find any decent spots.

They could have been given *producers*. It's a standard proceedure if they can't pin anything on you at the time, they ask to see your documents and of course no one ever carries them with them . . . . so they get given a slip of paper with which to produce their documents at the nearest local nick . . . . would prob be enough to scare off a lot of guys, especially if they are married and have to explain at home why they need to visit the Police Station confused

TBH I don't think either of you sound nearly ready enough to take a step into the swinging lifestyle.
You don't appear to have much confidence and that in itself can lead to poor performance, which seems to be your main worry.
Meeting with people socially at first is the best way forward in most circumstances. Meet for a drink/coffee and chat with no pressure either way.
Many people, even long time swingers insist on this arrangement first. It makes it easier for all concerend.
You can discuss it all together and if you all feel happy, make some other arrangements to have some fun together. If not, you will all have had a nice chat/coffee etc and no harm done smile

Don't try rushing yourselves. Take time to feel comfortable every step of the way and before long you will wonder why you felt so nervous at the start ;-)

If you're new to the scene, I'm not entirely sure asking for people's bad experiences is going to help you gain confidence. You may end up hearing some really awful tales that may put you of the whole thing altogether confused

Sure you may get the odd one or two (usually a woman rolleyes

) who wants to be directed and will log into one of these rooms and actively encourage the directors to break the rules in a non directing room, but in those cases they would both stand to be booted.
Anyone who wishes to be directed is quite free to open their own room and put "Directing welcome" or similar in the title, or simply log into a room which does not have "no directing" in the title.
Simple really . . . if you read the signs and then everyone's enjoyment can be catered for, those who like to direct, those who enjoy being directed and those who don't . . . it's hardly rocket science is it? :?
