The Darkness?
There needs to be a new word to describe the psychosis that I have to fend off when I see a Darkness t-shirt.
Not only are they a bunch of abject plagiarists with not a single new idea amongst them, but even more troubling is that they are the 'face' of British rock at the moment, god help us.
And having met them, I can say from personal experience that they're a right bunch of up-their-own-exhaust-pipe eejits.
Takes a deep breath and calms down...
Nurse? Sedative please...
The pratt on the A4 today in the black Porsche.
Not because he had a Porsche. But because he couldn't drive... Weaving around in the outside lane, drifting into the middle lane.
Nearly taking out two bikes with driving that was either criminally incompetent or deliberately dangerous.
Not seeming capable of operating the accelerator in anything other than a digital "all on/all off" fashion and thus holding everyone up, then tearing off for 15 seconds before stamping on his brakes.
When I am world dictator things are going to change. Starting with the Porsche-driving apeman...
Cancel that... A few moment's internet searching and I've found the answer to my own question...

What have I missed here...?
I've had such a busy week I've not caught much news - just the major stuff like the bombing in Iraq and the West End murder. Something happened that impacted here?

Well, blow me down...
Richard Branson had better watch his back, lest this budding entrapreneur oust him!

The second asks "Are you sure?".
"Yes, I'm positive."

.... And a big howdie from me too!!
I know we've sort of made contact in another topic (where you correctly identified my equipment lol ) but here's the official hi!!
You've obviously correctly identified that myself, Sappho, Will and Artificer are the cultured ones - welcome to the club, you'll be safe with us!!
Just look out for Fred though, tends to get himself in a wee bit of trouble now and again.... wink

Hey, I never laid a finger (or any other appendage) on your equipment...!
And thanks (to everyone) for the warm welcomes... Hope to have some fun and repartee here.

Welcome Roadknight
I like to think of myself as a knight in an Armoured Personnel Carrier rather than shining armour!!!

Have fun in the Forum wink

Works for me... Heavy on the diesel, but parking is a doddle!

Actually, darling I think RoadKnight was referring to the bass guitar in Bassdude's avatar. Looks like a Steinberg to me - but hard to tell from here.
Will (slightly concerned with Sappho's Kalashnikov fixation - I found the rabbit much less threatening. As long as bluexxx isn't in charge of it!! )
* Note to self - remember to pack the Kevlar next time I visit Shropshire *

'Tis true. And until you get up real close, you can't tell. Hohners (effectively Steinbergs made under licence) are a lot more readily available, and jolly good too...
And as for the Kalashnikov debate... professionals use SVDs, and professional thugs use AKSU-74s...!

That reminds me, sweetheart. You are about to be alliterated to within an inch of your life!! wink
*toddles off to practice his diction*

The art of good diction is of course all in the tongue...
Hi,
I/we are interested in coming along to this... Can you keep me informed please?
Thanks,
A

Mmmm, I have high hopes of this one. Tell me, RoadKnight, do you alliterate too?
Sappho (in hope) xxx

Only when the neighbours are out...
Aha, a fellow pedant and demon wordmonger...!
Well met by moonlight. (Or failing that, by the rather grey light of a wet and cloudy day.)
Hi,
I stopped off briefly Tuesday evening in a car park while driving home - it had been a long day, a long drive and I needed a few minutes break or a nap before I headed on. At the time I didn't realise quite where it was, but having got back and checked, it was car park of the Scratchwood open space.
It was about 10pm-ish and to my surprise the car park was busy - not quite full, but definitely busy, with cars coming and going every few minutes. Getting the sleep I was after wasn't happening, but I did get enough of a rest to drive on.
I only saw guys while I was there (when I had my eyes open that is!) - is this exclusively a gay area, or is there any straight involvement to be found here at all?
Puzzled and tired...

Can anyone help me? I've often wondered where the word "weegie" comes from and seeing as how there are so many around, this seems the place to ask. I think I've got the more commonly used term of "soapdodger" pretty well nailed though.

Glaswegian...
=> Glasweegian
=> ...weegian
=> Weegie.
Thanks, Sappho & KitKat,
As for what brings me into the throng (please, I said throng, no thong)...
I'm not wholly inexperienced with swinging, but far from being a hardened veteran. Chatting to a friend's girlfriend a while ago brought up the subject of dogging - and google brought me here. I lurked for a few days and liked what I read.
And in case you're wondering...
Straight male in a relationship. The young lady in question in also on the adventurous side, but not sure if she's up to this yet...!
I would add...
Seven Samurai
Hidden Fortress
(both good films in their own right, plus they have inspired the making of films that have since become classics as well)
and the film that is a personal favourite:
Bladerunner.
Hello folks,
At the risk of continuing the formulaic "hi, I'm new here"...
Hi, I'm new here!
Very impressed by the sense and friendliness evident in a lot of the posts on the board. Hope to ask a few stupid questions, potter around on the fora from time to time, and maybe even meet some of you at some point...
