avatar pics don't have to be approved...
I know Anais, I'm referring to it on my profile where it has been for a very long time and where it was deleted from in the last 24 hours. However, I've sent Admin a message regarding this as I had always thought you could keep your avatar in your pictures (as mine was) - and with the advent of groups now, I've expressed the opinion that these ought to be the exception anyway.
If there's a way for peoples avatars to automatically show in the group members list rather than having to use a picture of yourself, that would seems a sensible idea to me. Especially when forum users are more recognisable by their avatar than anything else. Whether this can be done though, I don't know.

Dear Admin
So far, I'm liking some of the new features but the worry over private photos being visible yesterday was a concern to say the least. As a short term measure, I put this pic into my private pictures to use as the album cover so that my face pictures in there were (I hoped) protected as there was no option to select not to have an album cover.

What do I find this morning? a warning from admin that I am breaking the AUP! Now as it seems that private pictures are no longer at risk of being seen, I don't need that picture but it's pretty obvious why I (and no doubt others) added something that showed "little or nothing of the account holder" so what on earth is the point of sending me a warning for something I've done as a reaction to a problem caused by YOUR changes.
Many of your changes are clearly a work in progress and members are putting up with the fact that there are bugs to be fixed on things that are already live so show a little respect to your customers who are concerned about their privacy in the meantime instead of sending them warnings, please.

Now my complaining is over, I have a question that I don't *think* I've seen an answer to on the thread.
Will it be possible to move friends out of Favourites and into the Friends folder at some point? or will friends invites need to be resent to achieve this?
Edit: my profile pic (same as my avatar pic) seems to have been deleted since yesterday as well now!! icon_

I deleted those pictures as both of them are against the current AUP and there was absolutely no reason to 'bend' those rules purely because of the current Site changes. The response you received was an automated you took exception to this, that's unfortunate. We can't second guess the reasons behind why anybody does anything so what makes it 'pretty obvious' doesn't come into it.
If you had a concern and thought you had the answer to it, did it not occur to ask any of the Mods or Admin if what you were planning would help or was necessary?
Crystal balls were withdrawn from the last round of cuts, so we now have to go with what we see, rather than consult the stars.
I hope that answers some of your queries. I'm sure the answers to the others have possibly been answered elsewhere.
Mal
wink
Oddly enough Mal, I was more concerned with protecting myself and my private pictures than waiting for a mod to come online to consult with - and as Admin seemed a tad busy, I took action for MY benefit.
I'm rather surprised that someone has deemed my avatar pic as an AUP breaker after me having it on here for 4 years. Surely having your avatar showing as your main pic is fine? it always has been as long as I've been here.
I'll refer to admin regarding the rest.

They may not be visible - I've clicked on a few and they either show a PRIVATE icon or PHOTO COMING SOON icon. Perhaps this is being worked on at the moment and won't show a preview pic after all.

confused When I look at my profile and go into photo's section it has underneath my albums, named private cos thats what it should be, but as a thumbnail it has one of my pictures on there as album cover.. a face shot! One I definately do not want on public view. How do I remove it???? without removing my album :?

I'm pretty sure I saw an option where you can select/deselect an "album cover" - try that.
Edit: it's "album preview" and there's no option to not have any so if you don't want to use one of your photos in the album, you'll have to upload another pic to use!
Noooooo it's Facebook 2!!!! lol
Quickies are fine now and then but where can I go for a good poke eh? :rascal:

i guess im just asking how other ppl feel about how their own donations are used and spent

Very happy as I don't get involved with big blanket charities - I donate to or do fund raising things for very specific organisations/projects biggrin

But, and this is the point of my thread, do women (and/or men) also check out men's goods? Do you crotch watch, as I once heard it described?

This is what train journeys were invented. It's busy, I have a seat, they don't, kerrrrrrrrching
And besides, isn't this why men sit with their legs open? they want us to look. Really. lol
A Mini Metro in British Geriatric Cream lol
On the first day I had it, part of the exhaust fell off just round the corner from where I bought it! Two days later I discovered that the fuel gauge was faulty and optimistic - fortunately I ran out of petrol just round the corner from the place I bought it from too!
It was a good first car though, great visibility (like driving in a golfish bowl) and exciting at high speeds (hit 70 and it started to shake). I quite liked it! biggrin

Lots of couples (and even the odd single lady) talk about meeting but never seem to carry it through to actually doing it.

How do you know? they may be meeting each other or just going out and doing it without pre arranging anything lol

We can't believe that 80 (as of now) people have voted to have unsafe sex with strangers. This poll has made us very wary of meeting anyone off this site. Pity there is no way to see who has said they prefer unsafe sex.

It's a poll asking about preference, so whilst 80 people might prefer bareback it doesn't prove that 80 people are having unprotected sex. Or any sex at all lol

As you say, it may have been someone at the "end of their tether" but to my daughter and her friends it sounded really awful, enough to make them just stop in their tracks.

Which is why, imo, your daughter and her friends should report it, as they actually heard it. They can do so anonymously but if they all report it, it may get a quicker response than one person calling to say that someone else heard it.
Single men lol
Hmmm where to start.
I like single men.
So much so that as I'd been chatting to several on various sites, I decided to organise a small social with some other swinging friends with a view to being able to meet all of these single men sociallyand also to introduce them to other people I know who like single male swingers. I much prefer to meet people socially and then make swinging plans but they seemed like decent guys so I was quite excited about being able to introduce them to other people too!
I invited seven single men, would you like to know the results?
2 - on holiday, fair enough
1 - read an invite to a social in a bar as an invite to a gangbang
2 - were very chatty but once they were invited to meet actual swingers in person, went silent
2 - wanted to attend, were given the details and then failed to show up with no apology or explanation to date (no, they're not dead, just dead out of luck  )
That's just a small sample of some of the single men I've encountered recently. I've organised at least a dozen socials alongside private swinging meets and yet I've never had a couple or a woman as a no show at either. So you'll forgive me if I'm not overly sympathetic whenever I see yet another SMM (single male moan) as the "bad rap" is well and truly earned by a lot of guys cool
N.B. I do know some fab, reliable single men on swinging sites but they seem to be a minority!

This made me chuckle today. People are hard up for cash so are staying in and making babies.

How much do babies go for? lol

If yopu complain to the depot they will understand your poiint, but they will ultimately say he was right.

Or...
They might realise that they need to put a better process in place to deal with lost passes whilst taking child safety into consideration. Complaints sometimes lead to change rather than two dimensional thinking i.e. right or wrong!

Fortunately, East Lothian Council keep our county in a very clean state, the streets are cleaned daily, and the local "beauty spots" are cleaned regularly.

That's just your councillors removing the evidence of their "overtime"!
Still, at least we known that if you don't have bears in your woods, the doggers did it lol

The very unsympathetic way the thread was presented is causing more objection than the thread itself.

Oh tosh! The first post is not presented in any way at all, it's completely neutral - if you find it unsympathetic, it's how you are perceiving it. Did you intend your recent description of pre op TS folks to be objectionable or was it the perception others had?
And given the topic, I think it's far more objectionable that people have turned it into a flirtfest in an attempt to divert it from something serious confused

myself I was surprised as I would have thought that most people would take a look around the site before joining, did they expect things that they wrote to not appear?

Ditto - I know I had a very thorough mooch round SH before joining and now that there's a membership fee, I find it even more unlikely that people don't take a good look around first.
I'm with several others, if you don't want people to read certain things about you, apply some restraint when posting.
