Case in point as to why there should not be a feedback system introduced, a topic that seems to crop up as often as the single men debate. I agree with the masses though Venus, your not a time-waster, you just did not want meet up with him as he wasn't your type, the follow up mail was probably a dented ego thing, but if it was abusive report him and he will get a slap on the wrists!!
Im home alone that weekend so can you put me down as a provisional and I will confirm for definite early next week? machos gracias

I think during our 3 years here we have been most of the above.
These days we are mostly in "The Social Swingers" category, and it's me (Mr Srne) that comes on the site, usually for the Forum. Not sure if that makes us "The Reluctant Couple" but I think myself and miss srne just have different ideas about how often we would like to swing rather than that one or either of us is only doing it for the other.
Good post though. smile

Ahh how about, The out of synch swinging couple? They both enjoy aspects of the lifestyle still, but rarely both at the same time.
What do you think?
Sorry for the late reply, yeah that sounds right, a fair bit of the time!! wink
google belle baise parties. They are "exclusive" swinging parties whereby you have to send in photos of yourself and also sometimes have an interview to attend. They are more for the younger generation and are held in country houses or private exclusive venues and usually are in the form of champagne parties. Hope this helps.
We ring absolutely everyone we know and ask if they are going out and what they are up to, on the off chance we turn up and meet people we know  !!
We generally have a fem/fem chat but I always worry that the male half will undoubtedly be someone I know and lead to much redface
maybe you have different sex drives or incompatible sexual ideologies?
This can be a big problem and is something myself and miss srne have ourselves been through and still crops up.
The best way is like another poster mention, communication. If your not getting what you want discuss other ways that this can be achieved like compromise etc, if this isn't possible then maybe re-evaluate you compatibility and relationship. Seems drastic but better to seperate than you be unhappy and unfulfilled and she be feeling that she cant conform to you ideals and expectations??
Cant understand why he had to have the uniform on? Unless it was some kind of kinky aspect to the meet up? lol
I do know however, like others have said, that it is always a little frowned upon going about in uniform, even these days, as others have mentioned, it draws unnecessary attention to you and that is something that isn't always the best idea while serving in the forces!
Could he not have brought some civvy rig in his bag and changed? confused
Have just watched Octopussy on tv this afternoon and it brought back a great memory of my whole family sitting down on Boxing Day after lunch, when all the aunts, uncles and cousins would all get together round my grandparents house and there was ALWAYS a Bond movie on.
My grandad would be asleep on the chair, my uncles all arguing over which Bond was the best and us kids eating mince pies.
So, do any of you lot have any movies that bring back a special memory or remind you of a great, happy or sad time in your life and if so, what is it? biggrin

I could act your average Oscar winner off stage- so if I had the body for it, yup, I'd do porn.

Have seen a lot less appealing bodies than yours in porn winchwench, I reckon you could do porn!! send us the first signed copy wink
Miss srne reads the horoscopes an then reads mine but i try and draw a blank expression and go "oh lovely", I'm not sure I like to think that my destiny is already mapped out or that I'm not in complete control of what I do!!
Since I started working for myself I have all but disregarded time and being at a certain place at a certain time and I can honestly say i feel soooo much more relaxed and less stressed out!
I think time is a concept that has helped to put a lot of social pressure and expectation on us rather than it being a thing to judge how many hours of daylight we have left and all that other good time related stuff.
I'd love to go on and tell you the rest of my theories but I simply haven't the time lol
Mine's a pint of bulmers please.........
and while I'm here did I happen to tell you that I am in fact the heir the the Mcvities biscuit fortune and also the inventor of the jaffa cake?
This is my tallest story and over 100 people now credit me with the invention of afore mentioned jaffa cake. Result!!

I'm not condoning fraud in any way but there are certain circumstances that I think most of us have never encountered and are fortunate enough to never be in and as such we don't really know every aspect of every scenario.
A very close family friend of ours is a good example of when bending the rules is possibly the better alternative, some people will disagree but I think until you have walked a mile in this persons shoes you should not be so quick to judge or condemn.
Basically a great and very dear friend of ours who had been in a very good and reasonably well paid career for over 21 years was made redundant last year. Now he found it very difficult to find work in his field of employment at the same wage level he had previously been in and could not afford to take much of a wage drop as he has a mortgage, car payments, bills, kids to provide for and was pretty much stretched when he was bringing a wage in every month.
He went to the job centre and they put him on job seekers which he got £60 a week, after paying his taxes for 21 years. He said he was made to feel like it was not his fault and that they understood his position but with £60 a week to pay for bills, food, kids clothing outstanding credit etc he was going to be looking at getting into serious debt.
Now I have known this guy all my life and he is a true gentleman and a lovely person and as honest as the day is long, but needs must an he took a cash in hand job labouring for his wifes brother.
This guy has been to university, been in a managerial position for 16 years and was now working as a labourer on a building site just to make ends meet.
If he had declared the work his mortgage insurance would have ceased and he was not paid enough as a labourer to even pay his mortgage and would have been in serious debt, so he did what he had to do until he found work.
I think if I was ever in his position I would do exactly the same thing as having contributed to "the system" for 21 years as a high tax payer I think it does not put him in the same leagues as those people who cannot be arsed to get off their arses and find work and play "the system" while the rest of us go out and graft to fund their Jeremy Kyle lifestyle!!
RANT OVER wink
During my younger years I was in the military an often had a group of mates round to my parents who used to caravan and leave us an empty house for the weekend.
On one such occasion I managed to "pull" a girl I had had my eye on for some time and took her back to my parents empty house where me and the lads were staying. I sneaked away under the radar of my mates gaze and proceeded to engage in the art of copulation with said much lusted after female  !!
As I was a bit of a self proclaimed lover maestro I had been indulging in foreplay for about half an hour and we were just beginning to get down to the age old game of hide the sausage when the bedroom door burst open and my mates all dived in.
That sounds bad enough but they had unbeknown to me and my intended, creeped into the house about 15 minutes before-hand and had "dressed for the occasion" shall we say!
One had my mums pink fluffy dressing gown on and her shower cap with her tights over his head, another had my dads work boots on his hands, and my sisters skirt, and my last "mate" had donned my boxing gloves a thong from god knows where and my dads tie on his head!!
They then proceeded to shriek loudly and expose themselves to us which didnot go down well with the girl I had brought home!
She subsequently had a panic attack and left rather hastily never to return or look at me in the same light again, and told all her friends I was into kinky sex games (she obviously could predict the future). My family found out as we lived in a small village and it was the height of embarrassment, though me and the lads still cry laughing about the incident to this day!
She is a true gentleman and a scholar, completely true except for the first bit!!
Well Done Dawnie!! biggrin

Great post, Splendid - very informative.

wink

After reading splendid's post many, MANY times, I would agree that a majority of the post IS informative, as Mal has been quick to defend!!
The problem we have with this post is when the implications and connotations start about "do gooders", and especially the last bit which cannot be interpreted as anything other than negative.
I am absolutely adamant I KNOW what splendid's intonations were, and to be honest splendid, I half expected you to try to pass off my second post using that good old word "interpretation"!!
Nevertheless, I am pleased the less bolshy and self pontificating members of this community seem to understand why we are doing what we are. It seems some people will always try and find fault in anything you do rolleyes .
There are two locations I can recommend depending on whether you want a city experience or some of the great outdoors.
For the city it has to be York in the North East region, a fantastic place with lots of history, great things to see and do and some good pubs and places to eat!!
Outdoors types could not do much better than Northumberland particularly Holy Island and St Cuthbert's Caves, Bamburgh Castle or Alnwick Castle, all within easy driving distance!!
There is one site I have heard of whether it be a dogging urban legend or not I dont know. PM us if u want the location!

I work for a charidee....
With my skills and qualifications I could be earning at least double in the corporate world. In fact my subordinate from the corporate world is driving around in a posh car and has paid his house off and is about to buy another house with his partner for the country life he 'needs' to relax in to get away from the stresses and strains. His life, his choices.
I work for significantly less. I have my own car, my own home, no debt. I earn enough to support my life. The difference between before and now is that I want for less. I actually value different things more.
My job brings me face to face with the true 'needs' in this world.
My bosses have nice cars and I presume nice houses.. just like me. I suspect that what we view as 'nice' is a damn sight different to what is viewed as 'nice' by my previous peers. (I love my peugeot 107, it is the sexiest thing that I have ever driven)what I can tell you is that they have worked damn hard to get to where they are. I only know that because I am climbing this ladder too and I am learning from them. I resent them nothing.
I have my own budget and my partner who is in the corporate world uses my yearly budget in a month and still winces at the cutbacks she makes.
To the point.... my project works with at least 50 people a day... we save lives, we change lives, we support people, we help.
We advertise for volunteers and the applicants I get that don't get past interview are the 'do gooders' who think that the people 'in need' are going to be eternally grateful for the charity work they get. It is damn hard work and I employ people who are prepared to go the extra mile and all of my staff bar none got into this line of work by giving up many, many, many hours of their own time and as a result their own money (childcare- no overtime in their paid work- paying for meals because they were away from home) over many months and years.
I have a small staff team... if I could employ a bigger staff team I would. But I can't spare the time from my team to train new members at the moment and my budget has been cut again so I have to make a choice between training new people or helping more people. I just hope that my staff team aren't driven into the ground before we meet our 'quota' and our budget is awarded or not in the next 'round' of awards.
Security checking new staff, (believe me there are some 'right nutters' wanting to work with vulnerable people)training new staff, developing their skills to the point where they can be trusted to support vulnerable people in the right way... all takes money. That is even before they have done any 'charity' work.
If you want to make a donation of one or two grand and know that it is going to be used wisely let me know. You will save yourself a fortune you will actually do some good and you won't be taking skilled charity workers away from their job to help you do 'aid work'

Firstly can I just say this is the most derogatory and blatantly condescending post I have read in many a moon!!
Can I just ask Splendid, did you actually take the time to think that what you have written is clearly going to annoy us and believe me I don't get annoyed easily.
Some of the statements you have made are at least completely generalised and I would even go as far as to say insulting.
Let me start with this one........
We advertise for volunteers and the applicants I get that don't get past interview are the 'do gooders' who think that the people 'in need' are going to be eternally grateful for the charity work they get.
So what your basically saying is that people who walk through the door and have a real and very passionate desire to try and do something selfless are "do gooders"? I would VERY MUCH like to hear your interpretation of these people as I'm sure you have insulted just about everybody who works on a non paid basis for a charity, or at least sweepingly collated them into a sub category of your own opinion!
You work for a charity, in a paid capacity, and I have no problem with this untill you start to self justify your position as a paid charity worker by implying subtly that "do gooders" somehow actually do more harm than good. This is CLEARLY evident in your post, some of the statements you have made in your post which are blatantly and very obviously (even for those who are neutral to this debate I would imagine)meant to demean what we are trying to do are extremely insulting.
To imply that charity work on a non paid basis is "do gooders" wasting the time of you highly skilled paid workers doing their job is ludicrous!
"If you want to make a donation of one or two grand and know that it is going to be used wisely let me know. You will save yourself a fortune you will actually do some good and you won't be taking skilled charity workers away from their job to help you do 'aid work'."
How can the above be taken in ANY other context?
I'll be quite honest when I saw it actually has got me extremely annoyed.
Now I don't know what charity you work (in a paid capacity) for, but I will be damned if ANYONE is going to imply that by me and miss srne going to do aid work abroad we are actually hindering efforts......... "you won't be taking skilled charity workers away from their job to help you do 'aid work'."
You said in your post that you could be earning more money with your "skills and qualifications" in the commercial sector. What so your giving up more than we are by working for less money than your worth??????
We are going to a foreign country for FREE, to do whatever is necessary top help people less fortunate than we have been privileged to be, how dare you come on here and insinuate from your high moral post that we should leave you "skilled charity workers" to it?
I can safely say that everyone is entitled to their opinions, and in your post you started by generalising charity workers as "do-gooders", which I cant really take great offence at. It was when you personalised the post to us directly I really got upset, evidence of both my annoyance and your personalising the post are above, just in case anybody would like to jump to her defence!
Now I'm sure you are going to reply with a well written and cleverly worded retort, but the evidence is there. I do not think I am being over sensitive and I do think I am WELL within my rights to post this.
I think you have posted this to try and justify your work as a paid charity worker and I can see your point in a small way for you doing this. I have no argument that SOME paid charity work is needed to successfully achieve a charity's aims and ensure the smooth running of its logistical operations, I'm not that naive.
However, by basically insulting us as "do gooders" who were "taking away valuable skilled charity workers to help us do 'aid work'" you really stepped over my mark of acceptability and thus have ensued a rant from me.
I said this earlier but did you stop to think of how CERTAIN aspects of your post may be construed BEFORE pressing the 'submit' button?
I am pretty surprised really that somebody in the charity sector even as a paid employee, would have your attitude towards what we want to do! Its pretty gutting actually and makes us feel really rather deflated that people would assume the worst of people trying to do their best!!!!!!!
I am now absolutely livid as I typed out a really, REALLY long thread and didn't save it before pressing "submit" and have just lost it  mad
Anyway........... (won't be making THAT mistake again).
So, picture the scene, me and miss srne have decided to turn our backs on the world of materialism and buying stuff we don't actually need and decided we will try and help other people a little more whenever and where and however we can!
Sounds great right?
So, we decided after hearing some really worrying stories about how only 15p in every £1 donated to charity actually gets to the root cause you donate to, that we would help out in another more direct way and volunteer to do some aid work abroad.
We started ye olde internet search and discovered to our huge disappointment and annoyance that aid agencies now ask for money for you to go and actually do "aid work"!!
Now, I'm not talking a couple of hundred pounds to cover the cost of your air fare etc which we would of been happy to pay, I'm talking thousands (like £4000 per person) for a 5 week "trip to help people who really will benefit from you being there".
Now forgive me if I am missing something but how much does it actually cost to send a person to say Africa on an economy flight and get them to a village that they can help build or supply skills etc to help out in whatever way, shape or form is needed there?
Surely not £4000 per person?
We genuinely wanted to do something worthwhile but at £9000 we just cannot afford to do "charity work" and I think this is an absolute travesty.
I did phone one aid agency to ask for a breakdown of how it costs so much and was told, off the record, that that is how his boss drives a "company BMW costing £40,000" and "earns £135,000 a year" and I just could not believe it.
It really is a shame that even charity and aid work has become big business and stops people like us who want to do something for genuine reasons actually being able to. It seems to cater for rich kids who's parents want them to "see a bit of the other side of life" as most of the internet sites seemed to advertise for gap year breaks etc, etc.
Anyone with any information or has done some aid work would be appreciated or even if you just have a comment or a criticism we would be glad to hear it?
Right I have a feeling this might be a long one............... those who read my posts will possibly be pleased others will be like who is this fool haha I care not im "on one" lol!!
Ok, so this is something that interests me, the paranormal.
I love things that go bump in the night and putting the willies up people (sorry bad jokes I kno, I could't help myself though) lol
Anyways............
The paranormal has many different factors, I haven't read all the posts as there are loads but if im repeating anyone sorry, and you had a good point (cos I'm saying it too lol)!
Now then Ghosts........
Do I believe in them? The short answer is yes but not the old ooooooooowwwwwww sheet floating about type stuff. I'll try and explain.
It is a Law of physics that energy cannot be destroyed it just converts into another form yes?
I believe that when we die, or transfer our energy from the energy provided by our cells multiplying, we go into another type of energy or life force, some call this the force of nature, Mother Earth or good and evil.
The type of person we are in life depends upon what type of energy we transfer into at the end of our physical life I believe. The people who do more good than bad transfer into the energy that makes people happy or that helps in the processes of life, like the cool air that blows through the trees we see in a country woodland, or a butterfly that floats past us and makes us smile.
People who are bad, or have egotistical or selfish life cycles transfer into the opposite energy the one that makes us a little unhappy, nervous or afraid, like the feeling you get when you walk into a place you dont like, and the hairs stand up on end on our bodies that we just can't explain!!
I believe in ghosts, I go to places now and again and believe the echoes of those who once roamed the walls of that place and have a strong connection to it, whether good or bad, still reside there and some people are more receptive to it than others!
I think those that are more open or receptive to the chance of feeling this energy are more likely to have a paranormal experience, not just because the mind is playing tricks on them, but because they are tuning into the energies around them rather like tuning into a radio station, you will not get radio1 if you aren't on the right frequency?
Some places have tremendous psychic energy and these are the places we usually refer to as haunted, and are the places me and miss srne go to "feel the vibe" (No sexual innuendos please , ok maybe one or two).
There are some great locations around the North east and Yorkshire and if anybody would like any information on them PM me, but back on topic as this is a great thread (thumbs up original poster!).
Here's a question I always get asked, "Have you ever seen a ghost" and i say "no" but I believe they exist.
I mean I haven't seen a great white shark either but I know they exist, with ghosts its just a matter of opinion.
I have however had experiences that have swayed me to the possibility in them, more so than the possibility that they don't exist!!
I have had strange experiences both physical as well as feelings, that just cant be explained away by anything scientific, that have been witnesses and felt by a group as well as me as an individual!
Now then, before you all start hunting me down with a pitch folk and shouting burn the warlock, I'm just an ordinary guy who was as skeptical about all this as you until a few years back, and now it is just something I'm interested in, I CANNOT prove that ghosts and the afterlife exist I'm just giving my opinion on it and would never be so presumptuous as to force that onto anyone else!!
Told you it was going to be a long one, (was that a psychic prediction oooooowwwwwwwwwwww wink). No dont even get me started on "psychics" lol!!

Well, good post, and I think one that a lot of people will identify with in one form or another as most of us have little rituals etc that we perform on a daily basis......
However, OCD is a completely different kettle of fish and I can empathise with Miss Kitty.
As well as it being extremely annoying and frustrating for the sufferer, it affects those around them, and more often the people closest to them such as husbands, wives, partners and children etc, etc.
I myself suffer from very mild OCD, but with a lot of determination and help it has now gotten under control and can be called "quirks" i suppose. It is not as bad as it was previously or to the degree of many sufferers of the same affliction, so I am lucky, as is miss srne as im sure it used to drive her absolutely mental!!
I was always a very "organised" person, even as a child, I would set things out in lines and set orders of height etc, things would have to be symmetrical and my bedroom was ALWAYS tidy.
I joined the military and this was a bonus and an advantage for me, as the military is as OCD with things as you can get, thought they call it "ordered and squared away!!"
After leaving the military I took some of the things i used to do in there that were common place, out with me into "civvy street", like folding my clothes up into an A4 size piece of paper etc.
This culminated in other "quirks" which I believed to be totally normal like having to have the remote controls in length order and a straight line under the TV directly in the centre, and other things i thought were totally the norm.
I can see now that these things were to non OCD people totally bonkers but to me they HAD to be done, and I'd get uncharacteristically annoyed if they weren't as i thought "everybody should KNOW how things are supposed to be" rolleyes
Anyway after a few visits to a hypnotherapist and a lot of self control from me, the problem has gotten to manageable levels now.
All I can suggest to anyone suffering from OCD is to get help and talk over your problems with someone who cares about you and is very understanding. Use the positives of OCD to help you and there are some.......
People with OCDs are usually extremely determined people, use this in your favour and set yourself a goal that you will lessen the importance of these rituals. Above all try and have a sense of humour about them and get the people closest to you to have one too. Its easier to break a habit if it becomes something to laugh about rather than an anxiety or serious problem in your head! Get the people around you to talk to you about how it makes them feel when you do these things and try and see the funny side for the reasons previously mentioned.
I hope this helps even if just a little and good luck to the original poster!! biggrin
OMG we are SO checking the wording of our add now paranoia has set in lol
Also, didnt sound like your posting style Tan, but thought u might be having a feminine "moment" haha (errr no offence Dek)!!
Hiya Tan,
well we used to have an add that was quite generalised and said stuff just about us and what type of people we were, not what we wanted expected etc.
We did find however that most of the replies we got were from people who either hadnot looked at our profile at all or were just not into the things we were looking for.
We have both met you at socials etc, and i think you know we are not pushy people at all, BUT, we are selective and do have a right to choose who we meet based on our own preferences, which im sure you would agree was fine?
The reason we say in our add "we are looking for, we like people who are, and we donot ....." etc is to hopefully limit the people who reply to us down to the ones that best match/suit what we are looking for in our possible swinging buddies.
Obviously we still get people who are not what we have in mind but we are always polite enough to mail and say "no thanks" usually, (unless we missed anyones and in that case humble pie time)!!
wink
So i think it might be a case of trying to limit the replies down to the ones that suit each persons preferences rather than a derogatory thing, well is in our case anyhow!! biggrin
No your not alone and its a good question you have raised.
For us, we prefer NOT to let other people know much about what we get upto and generally keep it to ourselves!
It's just that we want to keep what we do between us (and obviously the people with whom we do it with, as we sort of dont like telling people what we get up to.
Whether this is an embarrassment thing, or just that we are relatively private people, i'm not sure.
Like NWC said, we are not ashamed to be swingers we just dont want to go around (even to people within the scene) telling them about what we have gotten up to.
When we talk to some of the people we have gotten to know through the site, they seem not so worried and tell us what and who they have been involved in, and when we are asked we always say "We aren't sure if the other people would be happy with us discussing private stuff so we better not go into it" which kind of gets us off the hook!lol
So, in answer to that, as the great singer songwriter Micheal Jackson once said......"you are not alone, We are here with u......" haha!
