Excellent advice and exactly what we did when we were spoken to by the Police. We and our car were PNC checked too but remained polite throughout and they just told us to move along, which of course we did.
They were polite, although we did get a moral lecture as of course they knew what we were there for, but I see no point in trying to antagonise them. They are simply doing their job.
TRUE its all a game though !! surely they have better things to do and the odd 'blind eye' approach would not hurt
