Clare you are right. They are the most boring....
But as the stomach muscles are part of your 'core' muscles, they can be toned by toning the rest of the body. Nearly every other excercise you do requires you to tense your tummy muscles so at every opportunity, over exagerate movements.
Carrying shooping for example. Instead of letting the bags hang loosely, lift your arms so there is pressure on your stomach.
Run up stairs instead of walking, or taking the lift.
And hold your tummy muscles tight every time you remember. It's something men do a lot of, expecailly if there are good looking women around.
Try to be conscious of your tummy at all times.
