WASPS! Hated them since i was about seven years old... My friends and family will attest to the fact that they seek me out. Their heads are about ten times bigger than their bodies and the antenna and eyes always look directly at me!
I can remember being in Austria one summer, years ago... now the wasps there are the size of flamin' spitfire aeroplanes. As I was being accosted by a frickin' enormous wasp in the middle of a cafe this kind Austrian gentleman came to my aid and caused the wasp to cast of its mortal coil.
Now I do not speak german at all but aided by fright, adrenaline, whatever I suddenly exclaimed in fluent german... "Die Wespe, ist es tot bitte?" My then husband's head swivelled on his shoulder to look at me in amazement at my words and accent... weird innit wot fright'll do...
Haben Sie einen schönen Tag! ;-)

^^^ What she says !^^^ Good advice! smile
Oh glad you like the idea... may I make a suggestion... why not ad a poll to this thread?
smile
OK...roll call...
How many are going to the Yorks Munch in fancy dress? We've trawled websites for ideas and have come up with a couple, however... if we are the only ones in costume we'll feel like prize berks! smile
So help... and hold up ya hands so I can count 'em.

You got me thinking now
The Aquarius in Chesterfield lol what a scruffy place!!
Baileys nightclub in Derby ....... I used to think I was soooooooo sophisticated and grown up going there!! redface I'm a simple country girl you see, bright lights, big city!
<Goes off to continue reminiscing>

Flamin' Norah girl... I spent many a night in the Aquarius in Chesterfield... however which decade are you referring to? As for Baileys in Derby... a certain GT of my acquaintance was the resident DJ for a few years... a bit before your time I suspect! smile
Phew... great evening... GT, RHG (Cathy) and myself arrived just as the event was getting into full swing... in the vanilla sense... RHG was pounced on, as she is a stunning lady, and was whisked off to meet and greet all her friends who'd not seen her for quite a while...
Thank you sincerely Steph for organising such a well run event at such short notice after the misshap of the double booking... It was a nice room to have a party like this in... good size dance floor and plenty of room. I now remember not paying anything to anybody for a contribution to the room costs etc. Please PM me with your address Steph so I can send you a cheque/cash/IOU/ whatever... We did buy the SH pins though and what a great design they are... very discreet... congrats to all concerned re them. biggrin
It was absolutely brilliant to meet, for the first time, Kit and Kat, Dawn and Ian_Mids, Postie and others who's names/handles evade my beer soaked brain cell at this current time. Thankfully this problem is not unique to me as I got accosted mid-evening by a striking brunette who'd just left the arms of the lovely birthday boy... We looked at each, recognistion on each others faces and she said 'Ahhh... you're the backgammon lady!' At which point I remembered meeting her at Dave_Notts house prior to the Notts munch...
Sadly though... I still cannnot remember her handle as I don't think she was wearing any identification. If you read this and recognise this conversation please PM me so I can overwrite my brain cell at a moment of sobriety. smile
** Edit... Just been reading the guest list for Doncaster and now realise that it is JucyLucy... but would love to know your real name... <waves>.
There were others I'd chatted with that I'd like to put names to faces also... for instance there was a guy I was chatting to about computer programming... yeah I know... I gotta learn to relax... when the lovely and sexy DebbieWebs sashayed up to him, all guns blazing, and overwhelmed him with her charms... GT whispered in my ear... 'you just got blown out by DebbieWebs' I laughed and agreed... how can one compete with thigh length red boots... a gorgeous face... and a personality to die for... hey ho... LOL
And there was a gorgeous looking guy I was chatting with at the bar when everyone was queuing to buy last order drinks. If 'nil points' and 'Belgium' means anything to you when chatting with a dizzy blonde of ample proportions... please PM me... I'd really like to know more about you... I said to GT... 'Now he *is* gorgeous...' ;-)
I had such a laught with Stuart and Tanina... Tanina was dancing but I guess her feet were hurting as Stuart gallantly removed her sexy sandles. He then was left standing with sparkly black sandles in his hands so I remarked that he looked like he could be looking for Cinderella... Stuart then struck a manly and princely pose holding out one of the sandals and dramatically said... 'If this slipper fits the delicate foot of blah blah'.. you get the picture... He then brought the other sandal to the fore and said 'and if you have a sister...' (wink)... That made me laugh so much Stuart... thanks!
Thank you also to the ladies who danced all evening... you certainly provided lovely eye candy... ;-) and who is the striking lady who strutted her stuff virtually all night... man she's got rhythm... hard to keep your eyes off of ya gal... GT was goggle eyed at her impressive splits and healthy thighs. smile
It was great to say hello to familiar faces like Dambuster, Sarah, Frecklebird, Bassman, Marcuso, Nomad Soul, Essex Lady, Horny Old Tart, Love Commando, Roger The Dragon, etc etc... I know, I know... I've missed out so many names but I do remember your faces... and your body parts. ;-)
Oh... TallnHairy... I checked and I don't have much of a bruise on my breasts when you slammed the door into my chest. LOL... As the lady said, who was talking with you at the time, 'it's a good job I've got plenty of padding'...
It was sooo funny when I came back from the toilet when you were chatting to the lovely Sara, who was with GlosGuy... and, as I walked up, you put your arm around me and said, while looking at Sara and me "'oooh look... l've just 'bought one, get on free" to which we girls looked at each other and both said at exactly the same time "yeah... BOGOF!" Your face... xxx so funny... biggrin
GT and I left at .. the music finally got to us... we old fogies can't cope with anything after 1990... smile Gave the gorgeous Sarah a hug in the corridor... very nice... and gave (RHG)Cathy her stuff from the car. I wagged my finger and said you be careful...
We hoped you all had a great time at Marm's party... give us a bell when you get in Cathy... to let us know you are home safe and sound! xx
Hugggggggggggggs all and thanks for a lovely time!

Awwwww W - I love the fairy lights (as you well know)!!!!!!!!!

I know... and I stole 'em ;-)
Please... shut the fuck up about Christmas!!!
Sorry, but honestly... We haven't even got to Michaelmas yet
Who stole Saturday... not one person posted to GFZ yesterday and as that is exceedingly unlikely I can only presume that Saturday was nicked! mad
I've also noticed how many snails there are this year also... I detest the crunch sound as you accidentally step on one... especially when wearing sandals... ewwwww!
Sorry we couldn't make it... GT was knackered after driving all day... and we wanted to chill out... (Note to Morbius: The last time is still last Monday... we argued sad )... perhaps we should have gone to Derby instead for drinks... *sigh*

Mmmmmmmmm - I love white chocolate buttons! biggrin

Oh... oh... oh... and what about white chocolate maltesers!!!! White choc icecream too! Ooooooooh!!!
This vaguely reminded of a visiting friend who, on arrival at Wobbly Towers, commented on the overpowering odour from a fellow traveller on the bus. A few weeks later there was a report in the local rag of a man who was kicked off of a bus on the same route due to complaints from fellow passengers...
The reason for his odour, according to the report, was due entirely to Chemotherapy for Cancer... I have no way of verifying this but we guessed it was the same gentleman and my heart went out to him for his suffering on different facets.
Some people do have a naturally strong body odour and no amount of washing will cure them of it... I would have thought that the illness should die out eventually as they'd only have only a minimal chance of procreation.
Cheers me dears and happy weekend!

I'm buying a 200mm telescope (i could have said 8" but I know I wouldn't have had a serious reply!!)
anyhow, my question is.....which is the best to purchase: a reflector or a refractor????
I want it mainly to observe the planets, planetary nebulae, star clusters, galaxies etc.
So, I'm hoping that there are a few star gazers amongst you who can offer me some *serious* advice.....

I've got a Skywatcher Explorer 150, a 6" Newtonian Reflector which gives great views of the planets albeit smaller that you would like. You can just make out the stripes on Jupiter and definitely see the wonderful rings of Saturn... The moon is just fantastic...

Refracters tend to be smaller and consequently more portable but my understanding is that reflectors are better... The best advice I can give you is to join your local astronomy club and get their considered opinion and try out their scopes...
Don't buy on a whim with little knowledge... unless you have pots of money... ;-)

A newbie is a regular when:
getting a PM from someone isn't *that* exciting anymore and doesnt make you feel like you were OMG actually noticed

So you're saying I'm still a novice? biggrin
I am, I am... I love getting PMs... don't get enough of em but I do actually realise I have to send em out first... and I don't mainly 'cos I think 'who the hell would want to read the silly meanderings of my mind'...

Has anyone ever seen you blush?.. Somehow I doubt it! cool
November for me...
Hallowe'en beckons in November with ankle high leaf fall giving off that scent of leaf mulsh. Guy Fawkes night, excited children, warm bonfires, exciting fireworks, bonfire toffee, flapjack, sausages, mulled wine and warm faces chatting away till the embers die. Remembrance Sunday, paying homage and giving thanks to those that defended our way of life... Wear your poppy with pride and gratitude.
MY BIRTHDAY ;-)
Xmas lights are turned on at the end of the month and then it is the countdown to Xmas!
Woo hoooooooo!

Believe it or not, for me the best part of a man would be his arms. I love to see strong masculine arms on a bloke and find it a real turn

Oh I love the forearms on a man when dusted with enough hair but not too hairy... I love the sexy, confident twinkle in their eyes... I love the husky chuckle of laughter and the deep timbre of their voices... and above all I love the way that most men, apart from normal hair cuts, top and tail shaving and general cleanliness, have a healthy disregard for their looks... that is sexy! :P

I agree with Feckledbird, this lady is married and may not want to meet with you again, and using that as an excuse rather than saying no thanks , and moving on

That is definitely a strong possibility!
Your post made me realise that we hadn't let folk know if we smoked or not. It can be a difficult subject...
I don't smoke but GT does... He'll have to stop smoking though if it stops me getting playful with George Clooney and his Mrs... ;-)

Am I the only one who's thinking 'but she's married' ?
Surely it won't/can't matter that much as she already has a husband?
Maybe she's using 'lack of confidence in herself' to put off meeting you again because she feels guilty?
Did you join this site for advice? Because swingers know how to get people who cheat, get together? Sorry all you other folks, I am trying very hard here; I know we should live and let live and be tolerant and OK yes there are cheaters on here (male and female) but I do think maybe we should draw the line at helping people to cheat!

Hiya Bev,
Yes I did consider *all* of the above but I chose not to be judgemental because I don't know all the facts. I responded with honesty because I identified with the poster's dilemma. Both GT and I were in very long term but unhappy relationships... all four people in the quadrangle were disatisfied but muddling along because the couples were friends (and still are friends)...
We married, GT's ex is now very happily re-married. If GT hadn't made the first move then, more then likely, there would still be four unhappy people in this world instead of three very happy people and one still looking for the love of his life (good luck babe!).
I do appreciate where you are coming from Bev... but I've found that things tend not to be black and white and until I feel I know the truth of the matter I prefer to withold judgement. smile
Take care both of you...
