Well for me, without a doubt has to be the Internet... I met my ex over the Internet in Spring 1995... set up an Internet business later that year... I've been the once or twice... personally the music policy wasn't to my taste and the fact that it takes ages on a friday evening to get there... Found this report for you though... seems a fair one.

The only soul nights we make a point of going to are local ones and Stoke all niters... Stoke because that's when all our friends of soul groups tend to get together... a good night for catching up with gossip...

Hiya rams_cpl... well what it stopping you? There is as vibrant a northern scene out there as there ever was - if not more so... There are more local northern nites than you can shake a stick at... there are so many soul forums/groups on the internet where people send in daily sets consisting of six tracks... some known - some discoveries... the dancing is not as athletic as it was but it's still fantastic to watch...
One of the best regular sessions is KIng's Hall at Stoke... a Goldsoul event... it really captures the essence of Wigan without the flooded toilets... ;-)

Well I'm thanking God it's Friday only because tonight I get to go up in plane from East Mids Airport and fly north for an hour or so to hopefully see the Northern Lights!
Please, everybody... keep your bits crossed for me as this is something I've always wanted to do and as GT gave this to me as a birthday present I want it to be good for him too!
