I have met someone i knew the first time we ventured to a club! Let me tell you it was a little bit of a shock to be confonted with the kids health visitor halfway down the stairs :shock: . BUT so what? she's there for the same reason as us, ive seen her since and no one mentioned a thing - so all's fine and i hope she had a great time! lol :lol:

i know this probably isnt the place but i need to BIG UP my little boy who has turned one today!
After a nightmare pregnancy where we thought we had lost him on many occasions, to a very premature birth, he's now crawling, sitting and standing! not far off what he should be doing at a year old! Considering he should only just be coming up to 9 months old he's doing exceptionally well and i just wanted to tell the world how proud i am of him. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: well done son xxx

i have hayfever triggered by tree pollen, ibruprofen and i'm allergic to real down/feather pillows and duvets.
My son has the dreaded dairy allergy! please please let him be the 95% that grow out of it by the age of 5! worship
My daughter was allergic to the chemical gels in disposable nappies!

I cant imagine why women would have an issue with tall men, my ex was 6'6'' so its never been an issue for me and isnt for most of my friends either!
for a lot of ladies the attraction isnt just physical, you have to stimulate her brain aswell as her eyes!

The best holiday we have had was a last minute trip to the Dominican Republic to a crappy all inclusive hotel!
Anyway, we got chatting with the local ex pat lady who ran the dive school in the town. She was married to a dominican and had adopted his 3 children! We spent many happy hours at their house, eating fantastic local dishes (beef stew with bananas instead of potatos :shock: , sounds horrible but it really was yum!), meeting the local people.
The Carwash in the town turns into a locals nightclub most evenings - someone brings along some music, lights go off and everyone dances until the wee hours! fantastic!
The supermarket (run by dive ladys hubby), is also a sort of bar/restaurant/club too!. Its set up was similar to Arkwrights in open all hours! you hand your shopping list over and they get it all for you! while your doing that you crack open a beer, pull up a stool, make yourself a sarnie and chill out! On an evening The music is cranked up and there is dancing and mayhem in the shop! One evening we found ourselves dancing with the local coppers! The two of them had to share a moped! lol Even better they decided to arrest two girls who were having a proper bitch fight over some guy and had to borrow someone elses moped so they could take them back to the station! Now can you imagine anyone in this country allowing themselves to be arrested, and having to hold onto the copper cos your riding pillion on the moped?
Drink driving isnt illegal out there (neither is it legal), but the general concensus is that you drive with your hazzard lights on if youve been drinking!.
Taxis come in the form of mopeds! We regularly saw 5 or more people on one, and a Cannister of water balanced on the handle bars! :shock:
If its been raining you dont drive as the BIG land crabs come out, and then its like driving over the biggest uneven and crunchy speedbumps!
We had some of the best meals outside of our hotel for practically peanuts! The best steak i have ever had, lobster fresh from the sea, wonderful fish dishes. On one particular evening us and another couple ordered one of everything from the menue (a mexican restaurant), two bottles of wine and beer, the grand total spend was £15!!!!!
Anyway, we really got to see some of the local life out there on that holiday, a big difference from my pervious trip to a big all inclusive complex with no local towns or villages nearby. Well worth it!

OK after much discussion i would like to introduce UkWineman as our resident FIREGOD! worship

so he is now in charge of everything fire and fire pit related!
as you know we cannot scorch the grass, so we need alternatives to use as firepits!
pete has a supply of logs, any suggestions for transporting all fire related items?
