I've been following this thread but wasnt going to add anything, but it seems to have descended into acrimony, IIMHO for no reason at all.
As has been mentioned by steve_lincs, we all care and the most important thing is that we donate to help those less fortunate than ourselves, be it in this country or elsewhere.
Having said all that, I think the tsunami is on different scale altogether....

I've tried using the chat and ad sections more than the forums, which I generally only browse though this one did hold my attention.
Havent posted because this particular type of forum seems kind of like a community and whilst it was fun browsing i didnt have much to say.
I'm still finding my way around and I'm sure I'll make contact at some point (other than with the gay guys sending me nudes of themselves)

I did explain in my pm (which you've explained as to why you haven't read) that this would be my first munch; if invited.
I do frequent the chat room, but generally no one talks to newbies, not if you're a single guy and especially if you haven't got a + (verified sign).
I do understand all the caution, its just v. frustrating.
