cleared my cache..... three times now but the frame doesn't fit around most pages, it cuts them in half
cliques? What's one of them then? When I first joined the site I knew one or two people from another site. I sat and watched the forum world tick by for a few days to get the feel of the place and then slowly eased myself into it.
I wouldn't move house, walk into the nearest pub and expect to be immediately accepted by all the locals anymore than I would arrive on a new site and expect all the regulars to say hi. It takes time to get known, time to get accepted and this forum is no different than everyday life.
Yes there are people on this site I have met and have chatted to, there are a heck of a lot more that I haven't. Does that make me in a clique? No that just makes me an occassional poster on the forum who has taken the time to chat to a few people dunno

I hope he is improving today.
PK and Celery are on their way

And the only illness I have is a teeny tiny addiction to theme hospital lol
My addiction for animal crossing is far worse :giggle:

how old is old anyway?
>quakes in fear of the answer<
lp

Old is when everyone older than you has left this mortal land wink
don't ask daft questions like where are you from? when the information is freely available on profiles if people wish to share it wink
Other than that, just jump in on any thread like the look of. Just chill, kick back relax and don't go overboard. Don't get pissed off and start moaning if no-one notices you but do join in when people do. No-one likes a look at me type but we all enjoy chatting with the more relaxed types who just take it easy and take time to find swinging partners.. If you realise that the swinging world doesn't revolve around your wants and needs then you're off to a good start

oooh that reminds me.... incoming pm wink

If it involves either (a) tarting (b) further plans for destruction of the futon or (c) the next time there's a 'do' at yours, can I have a PM too? :rascal:
All of the above  and a recitation of the specials from the takeaway menu :giggle:
Love you..... you're gorgeous :giggle: That's soooo changed my outlook you know lol

Celery and Fektart... thank you again for your hospitality, was great to have a chance for a proper blether! Apologies for not jumping on the futon with more force! redface
DGxx

I would say next time wink But next time we won't have a half knackered futon that needs breaking up to get it to the tip lol
oooh that reminds me.... incoming pm
I think the longer you are involved with the internet the more you learn and the more careful you are. When I first started out on the net I didn't know about webarchive, now I do I am a lot more careful about the stuff I post.
If the kids were with me I know I wouldn't become physically involved, although I would be taking mental notes on the attackers descriptions for later. Once the coast was clear I'd ensure that the victim was ok.
What would I do if i was on my own? I have no idea. I'm 5ft 4 and have no self defence training, that's something I HAVE to rectify. I'd like to say I'd do the heroic thing and save the victim, but I rather think I'd be doing the same thing as I would if I had my kids with me.
In the past I've phoned ambulances etc for others. I cannot let people in accidents or who have fallen just lie in the street. When my neighbours son had an accident on his motor bike I took charge of her phone answering and making calls for her, got her to the hospital and stayed with her as long as she needed me. OK a couple of hours later we were all driving home but she knew that she could call round and I'd sort things for her. Am I a good samaritan? Nope I'm just me and it's my nature not to let people go unassisted when they need help.
Big thanks to kaz and all of her helpers for another fantastic Yorks munch.
Huge thanks to Bazza for lending us Vicky to make breakfast this morning. It's lovely to have a fridge full of food magically appear cooked ready and waiting for you to demolish lol Every home should have a Vicky wink
Many thanks to all of our house guests over the weekend especially those who made several failed attempts to completely wreck the futon for us :giggle: Ahhh well I guess when the new one arrives we'll have to dismantle the old one ourselves.
Lovely to see some faces I haven't seen for a long while as well as a lot of new faces. It never fails to amaze me how few people you actually get around to talking to.
Thank you to everyone who attended. It's you who make these events as sucessful as they are kiss
I'm in band A.... guess it doesn't get any cheaper for me... damn shame that. After the tart is fighting the bank to get back his charges for the past 6 years we could have had some spending money on our hols too lol
Seriously though, bank charges are a pain and over priced. Claim them back. The site previously mentioned has all the details as does

It's amazing what Photoshop can do for the elderly biggrin

:giggle: ahhh photoshop, botox for the poor and needlephobic.... sorry I couldn't resist redface
She's right though, you do have a friendly face
I can switch off comepletely when I'm reading, especially in the bath with a bottle of something alcoholic. If it's bedtime and I can't switch off I find radio 4 does the trick... especially during the shipping forecast lol
Basically i think finding something that you enjoy and can really concentrate on will push some worries from your mind. Sometimes if you just want to cry then you have to let yourself. Get a good tear jerker on and just let all the emotions out. Make sure you have a box or two of tissues to hand though wink i know you don't want sympathy... but you didn't say no to virtual hugs  :therethere:
oh gosh the first time with a guy was so memorable I forgot it...... but the first time with a girl hmmmmmmmmmm Guess it's because I was older, it was at my initiation... it was just way more special and I know that she remembers it too wink
Different experiences and I know which one I'd rather repeat

You've heard better juvenile farts in the bath? wink :giggle:
oh god yeah, even worse if you are in the kitchen downstairs.! AND they produce more bubbles than Fairy!
pmsl...mine are still at the "let's see how much bath water we can get out of the bath" stage rather than the "let's have a farting competition" stage... got all this to come yet :giggle:

did I kill the thread? lol

Nah... not at all.... just some threads drop down the page quicker than others and usually there's never much discussion in hello threadsso they tend to drop down the page quite qucikly. It's completely normal so don't worry.
Oh by the way, as the others have said nice introduction profile etc. Just jump in on the threads you like the look of and you'll soon feel like part of the furniture wink
That's really nice Celestria (nice name!), thanks for the welcome! I'll be sure to chip in on a few threads and see how it all goes
x
You're welcome. And as I see it you're fitting in just fine so just keep on doing what you're doing and you'll be fine
I love marmalade.... and marmalaid ain't too shabby either

And fektart says will you please stop picking on cupcake :giggle:

Munches/Socials are like going to some long lost relatives wedding or birthday party. I still get pre-munch nerves though and generally pack a bag which contains half of my wardrobe every time. You'd think I could make up my mind what to wear before I go but I never do rolleyes
No matter how many I go to I still get those nerves, but it does get easier to walk through that door every time

I would say that the only person who can really say whether it's bullying or not is the "victim". If they're feeling intimidated, victimised, bullied etc then they probably are being. If they don't feel that's the case then who has the right to tell them that's how they should be feeling.

I agree with this to a point, however, this principle does not acknowledge the influence, impact and affect of mindsets and personality types.
It is possible in some situations for people to prejudge a person, whether due to personality types clashing or behaviour traits unfamiliar to one person being seen as a negative behaviour with no supporting reason other than – it is not how they would do it. As they have already formed an opinion of dislike, for some people it is possible that crying ‘bully’ has become the easy (almost trendy) option to deal with situations of frustration, being caught out, being confronted and inability to respond to someone else’s confidence or directness.
It is quite easy for someone to come away from a confutation or disagreement (which they may have even instigated) feeling resentment - What then when they cry bully?
And what if the supposed ‘victim’ actually wants more than the situation to just stop – what if this person goes gossiping to all who will listen to their tail of being bullied with little motivation other than to get one back on someone else? Are they actually a ‘victim’ or have they become the indirect bully using diversionary tactics?
I agree with you polo... guess I was just over simplifying things and assuming that the victim of the bullying was actually being bullied rather than crying wolf. Those who cry wolf to gain attention in order to get back at someone are in my opinion just incredibly sly bullies themselves.
