I have never flown with either of them.... okay, I admit it... airline snob!!! lol
but I do fancy a getaway at some point... and since they are the two biggest flyers from my local airports just wanted to know if anyone has and good/bad experiences.....
I know ryanair are suppose to be really "tight" and this story about them wanting to charge for luggage and toilets puts me off... are they really that bad?
and I know easyjet is suppose to be a bit better..
I think it is the "no frills" thing that is putting me off... well, that and being an airline snob like I said earlier....
sean xxxx
okay..... so lets put this to the test........
from kenty's favourite rag......

now... I am sure a lot of you will laugh.... I did when I read the story on another site...... but this person still probably had a family that loved him, and are probably grieving his loss....
so does that make me a bad person?
should I have not let out a snigger when I read it knowing the outcome?
humour means different things to different people, what may be funny to some may not be to others......

I never use the ad section, and infact do not have one on any more, due to the large ammount of mails they generate.
We put an ad on the LMU section the other day, wont be doing that again either, too many mails, and as I try to be polite and replied to all, it tooks ages.
I still prefer a few basic lines on a profile page message, but the really long ones I find I now skip over, unless their first mail to us sparked interest.
The "come and f**k " me style of ads seems to get loads of hits on them, in the LMU section of the forum, way more than a tame ad!
All good fun!!

That is the bit that sticks out at me..... I like my ad, and I don't think it would have been me if I didn't ramble on for a bit.... the way I see my ad is as an extension of my personality, but if long ads has that effect on you, then I am sure it does the same on others.....
maybe it is time that I go back to the drawing board... there has to be a happy medium between "2 lines and a cock shot" and my winding effect which is something akin to war and peace.......
so do really long ads hurt or hinder people?
I have twitter as well..... I use it more to keep in touch with events to my mobile than I do for anything else.......
I said I would hopefully get to one eventually.... can you save me a slot and a sleeping bag please.... lol
I am on a poker streak at the moment....6 wins in a row....I'm on fire..

Apparently there were 9 complaints - the thing that gets my goat is not the fact that there were 9 complaints, lets face it people complain about any thing, but that the bbc were entertaining those complaints!
I heard her interviewed and she came across as so sensible, the perfect foil to the complainers.

9 complaints.... thats 7 more that the original russell brand/jonathan ross hoopla.... just to put it into context
bet the daily mail don't run and run with this one......
actually, whats I would do if I were the BBC would be to make all the email public and publish the names of the people who sent them, it might actually embarrass them into seeing how silly there view actually is....

Isnt it traditional to get yer tits out or do I watch too much late night cable tv?

yes and no...... lol   but it is actually a fairly new tradition....the french quarter of new orleans just happens also to be where alot of the strip clubs are.....
the giving and exchanging of beads has been part of the celebrations for 150 years... having to do something for them is more since the college spring break crowd started going.......
Nola might be a better person to ask...She went to LSU, me.. I only went down on spring break!!!
so new orleans have a big party... and we have... erm...pancakes!!!!
I had a Nokia N95....... tried to get a N96 out of orange for nowt, but they would not budge.... So ended up upgrading to the nokia N85.....
I have been really impressed by it so far..... and I use it like a 8GB Ipod as well, and if you are really smart you can use the BBC Iplayer on it... as a test I downloaded an episode of Hustle.... works brilliantly
I am running really late tonight and tied up with "W***"..... I think I will need to cancel tonight.... sorry sad

I was at the end of the queue when they handed out patience. Sometimes wish I had more of it.
What personal quality would you like, or like more of?

Actually I think I queued up 2 or 3 times in the patience queue..... what do you have to swop???
I'd actually like a bit more "confidence"......
Oooooo a swap shop! I'm a good speller, is that swappable?
right.... with my degree I better be good at maths....
Swop ya spelling for maths??????

I lost interest when it turned into a thread about resurrecting old posts and folk having a bash at each other.
Plus ca change.

people spent good time thinking about this thread and replying in this thread to a question you posed..... so for you to dismiss them so off-hand for me shows a real lack of respect......
I am sorry but that has got me angry... re "firestarter"
like others have said... you can be part of the problem or part of the solution, ....but next time I know not to bother putting down comments in your threads.....
A very disappointed fabio.... you know where my pm box is if you want a constructive conversation

after much thought... I suppose I had better put my name down for a local event for the first time in ages
so can ya at me please... and no rotten tomatoes to be thrown at me... ta... lol
Actually... I didn't mean it in a bad way..... when we did it the 2nd time it was actaully rather nice...... Hence why I stayed around as a lot of people did....
for example... there as so many misconceptions of "swingers" and we put some of those to right... I would be nice to do that kinda thing...
sort of like a "hands across the world" exercise....
actually something in that thread was brought up that I had forgotten about...
Oi ....Sarge!!!!! Where are our "Campaign Medals"..... lol

Totally agree! Increasingly these days it has become a mutual appreciation society.

Okay... we see things slightly differently.....
I do see a lot of strong personalities.. with a lot of strong opinions, even though I disagree with a lot of viewpoints, I respect the hell out of them more than the people who's opinions seem to change depending on the direction of the wind... or even worse change because they think they will be percived differently "to fit in"...
Suede-Head said that it he was put off by the "staleness" of the threads..... there are two different ways to counter that,
a) we can persuade newbies to come in, yes some of them will come and provide questions or slants on things that we may not have seen before and it will freshen it up.....
....but if they ask the same questions that we did then like I said earlier there are only so many ways that you can answer the same question again and again, and it is not going to help the staleness......
b) rather than complaining and waiting on someone else to do "something", or you can be pro-active and become part of the solution... get out there, start a thread! if it takes off... good, if it doesn't then it doesn't!!! I have been there and I am sure most have but at least you can't say you didn't try!
however if it the one thing I have taken from "work" it is that if everyone is waiting on someone else... then invariably nothing gets done...
see the problem, fix the problem........sometimes people don't need rocket science to see the solution
I don't see a problem with resurrecting old threads even though I am not one for fluff personally, if the person doing it can give a new perspective to it that hasn't been brought up
for example, the varification thread that we had a few months ago... I thought that was handled really well...
the Forum doesn't need "firestarters" to get it going, and I am glad that a few of them have disappeared...... as long as you have an opinion that you can talk about in a honest way, and that you are aware that not everyone is going to feel that same way, and you are mature enough to realise that, then the forum will always welcome you....
besides... there are many more fall outs in the chatrooms... the only difference is that you don't have it recorded for posterity!!!
I know... 4 years... I honestly didn't think it was that long either...
I still think the SH on tour idea is a good one....if we do it right.....
I found it........ can't believe it was that long ago.....but have a read...

Ben I have seen all sorts going on in these forums.
But the one thing that I just don’t understand is like what happened the other day the threads were ticking along new posters were contributing and there were about 36 threads 90% of which were all from different posters in today’s forums.
Then whoosh an influx of threads of by gone days that wiped over half of them off the pages.
So it seems all those people that contributed to help what I call was a thriving forum voices disappeared lots of input seem irrelevant,
I have looked back over the revived threads most got another response or two then just faded.
Where the ones knocked off were thriving, one day I looked recently and every thread on page one around lunch time had a response that day so people were coming forward.
Now look only half the threads on page one has responses.
Just something I have noticed that annoyed me a little as I don’t understand it.

They have only dropped to page 2...
If something on page one doesn't excite you then browse page . etc...
have to say I am in agreement with steve on this one.... in effect the same problem as with the "groups"
People can't be bothered to look past page 1 or 2... so set up a new group.... so there are 10-15 on the same subject
we all know what questions get asked again and again and again, there are only so many ways of answering them all, if they keep on coming up then they will be ignored and people will then ask why they are being ignored..... its almost a case of "pick your poison" at times...
I think what people were trying to do was lighten up the forum by bringing up stuff that we had done in the past to get people involved.. The stuff that doesn't come up often... I am looking for a certain thread myself that was brilliantly funny and think we should do again...
At work I go back to my old University Message board and forum in the States...... as well as discussing sports and light hearted stuff,
if you think this one is tough on political views, this is really soft in comparison....
I think what this has done is toughen me up in the last 2 years..... where I would have taken everything personally before it is all water of a ducks back to me now....
I don't think it is ready for a bunch of swingers to invade it quite yet....
ooooooh.... thats an idea, I think we should have another "forum" day trip to another site like me did a few years ago.... that was one of the best threads ever......
if anyone can find that thread I would love you forever..... I still go on one of the ones we "invaded".... lol

So nobody has a link to any respectable information sources that might tell me what this bloke is accused of then?

I could put up the BBC profile link ben...... but I am sure the next thing that would happen is they they would be accused of having a "leftist" agenda

Of course the guy is completly innocent of everything, except inciting hatred, and believed to be involved in terrorist organising.

well he is a really radical idea...... this one is out of left field...
rather than basically intern him, which is what they are in effect doing....actually charge him with something!!!!
for everything you have said I could replace his name with for example "Nick Griffin" and make exactly the same arguement.....
so kent, should we treat them both the same?
Quote by benrums0n
Was this chap actually convicted of something?

Actually... that is the funny bit about what kent has written and delightfully left out.....
Nothing like a bit of research eh.....
in the UK he actually hasn't, the worst thing he has done is going on the run just before government moves to introduce new anti-terror laws allowing suspects to be detained without charge or trial.
He have never been charged with anything in the uk
jordan want him in regards to charges they had against him for terrorism, but like I said in post before they punishment was the death penalty... so they had to sign an agreement saying they wouldn't in this case....
he has been fighting extrodiction for the past 4 years.....
hope that helps....
oh... and kenty also forgot to mention that he helped in the case of getting kidnappers to release norman kember but putting out a plea for the hostages release.........
Quote by kentswingers777
This guy should be kicked out, and left to his own devices when he reaches the country that would no doubt give him the best of presents........the noose!

actually under law... can't send someone back to a country that uses torture as a method of gaining prosecutions...or has the death penalty as punishment for the crime they are going to face....
hence why in cases where they are sent, for example, to the US... they sign agreement to say they can't (hence life without parole)
the same agreement which means he can now be sent to jordan on charges of terrorism.....
if you guys think that is lunacy .... I can actually beat that today....

I think it is more to do with the general sense of "blame culture" than is to do with any particular country.....

i'll soon be going to poole from doncaster. when i called and asked for the cheapest way to get there i was told it was going to cost £274 one way! i only want to borrow the seat not buy the bloody train!! i was then told it would cost £110 just to get to london. it's never cost me that to get there and back before.
but then, having insisted that this could not be the cheapest fare i was put through to someone else. my ticket to london costs just £11, from there to poole is £9 or £16 1st class. on the way back it's a one ticket journey and costs just £41 with the tube fare included. i will be going in two weeks so not like i'm booking megga early either. when i've been going to london i've only had 4 weeks between visits so not always loads of time to look for the best price. still the most it has cost me is £85 for a weekend ticket return.
the trains are not packed and it would cost me far more in the car. i guess it depends on where you live for how packed your local trains are. in london i wouldn't really expect anything different at peak times. the tubes are the same. mind you, depending on who you are traveling with, the crush can have it's advantages
whips

how early is early........
network rail don't comfirm anything in stone until about 12 weeks before, therefore anything earlier than that and all you will find are the open tickets...
and before any of you say "well its not like that in....."
France..... SNCF..... 60-90 days
Germany......DB.......60-90 days...
same in spain, italy, switzerland ect ect ect......
give me a call, pm me your number and I'll find something cheaper... there is a challenge
so can I take it you will all be up in arms as well since this person has not been allowed in either today...

or does your "outrage" and sense of free speech only go one way...... just curious??

So I am going to ask those people that would allow wilders in if they are going to let this person in as well????
