Fabio........Not sure HarryO has seen this thread so if you haven't got him down as a possible could you add him to the list and keep him up to date with the details please.
Many thanks,
Steve

Thanks Steve,
I have PM'd Fabio asking for details. I have no transport problems here, I'm only ten miles away.
If there's a place vacant at the party afterwards, put me down for it as well Fabio please.
Thanks

Memories, what wonderful things they are, here are a few of mine.
Milkfloats drawn by horses, Ringtons Tea delivered in converted horse drawn Hansome cabs.
Walking two miles to school, no school run in those days, only the rich had a car.
Walking home from school in winter, following the lamplighter along the street, and shinning up lamp posts to turn off the gas.
Steam powered traction engines and road rollers still in use
Dick Barton and Journey into Space on the radio.
The Coronation of QE2.
Short trousers until I was 13.
My introduction to horizontal refreshments at 13 by a much older woman, I think she was 16, lol.
Saturday night hops when bopping was all the rage.
Mantovani and the Joe Loss orchestras in the top ten. (It's true, honest)
Posh dances where you actually held your partner.
Playing Skiffle live on stage with Hank Marvin and Bruce Welsh, before they went to London and became famous.
My first wage packet 15/- (75p) for a weeks work.
Youth Hostelling holidays on my own. No parental controls, hooray.
My first car, A 1947 Riley 2.5 litre, 2.5 tons weight with cable brakes.
Four gallons of petrol and two pints of oil and change out of £1note.
The 50th notch on my headboard aged 18.
The time when all girls wore stockings, because tights hadn't been invented.
A round of six pints, 20 cigarettes, and change out of £1.
The first Elvis record.
My first dogging experience 1962.
I'd better stop there before I get overcome by nostalgia.

It's sixteen months since I started this thread, and I am pleased that so many of you have taken the trouble to comment and reply.
Writing out a post in a Word document first, does enable you to spell and grammar before cutting and pasting it into a post.
Failing that you could always put in a disclaimer below your post, such as that below my name.

Good morning all, it's back to the grindstone today. I've still a lot of writing to do
However, I do remember DazandLou, Neilinleeds and DreamerHelen very well indeed, and many others.
Wilma, I still have the Headmasters Outfit and the Cane, lol. Perhaps you should have misbehaved. smackbottom
Dawn, a nice ploy, trying to keep me chatting in here. Sorry but I'm off again. Thanks to all for your posts, take care. I hope to see at least some of you at the NE Munch.
A firm handshake to all the dudes and a tonsil tickling kiss to all the girls.
Farewell again, but I will come back now and then.

I believe that the XP service pack 2 has an automatic blocking pop up feature in it that you might want to try. You can get the pack from a bunch of different places, but I got mine from the cover disc of one of the Windows magazines for sale in Smiths. Might be worth a go.

That's clever thinking ... I downloaded it and even on broadband, it took something like 2 hours to download and then install itself!
As an alternative to this if you're not on XP, current versions of Nortons Internet Securtity combined firewall and antivirus blocks ads quite successfully. Never get them now which is a real bonus on some websites - even legitimate ones like thisislondon ...
I would check out your broadband connection if I were you. I downloaded and installed SP2 a couple of days ago using a 56k modem (I can't get broadband where I live) It took just 3 hrs to download and install. I'm using XP pro which shouldn't make any difference.

Hello Debs,
Simply solved, get onto AOL 9, I haven't had a single pop up or any spam in the last nine months. At a month its very cheap with no restrictions on how long you are on line. AOL's pop up and spam controls are fantastic, they really work. I don't even get adds for Viagra. lol
Harry0

Do you work for AOL?? Or is there really someone out there who's happy with them lol
Hello Sussexguy,
No I don't work for them, nor am I on commission. I have used AOL for the past four years and never had a problem with them at all.

Hello Tune,
It's perfectly true, according to the laws of aerodynamics, Bumblebees can't fly. It just goes to show you, mathematics does not always produce the correct answer. Personally, I got lost after my 3x3 tables when I was at school. lol. But I do remember what 1 + 1 equals, especially if the first 1 is a female and the second 1 a male. However 1+1 can sometimes equal 3, after nine months, if your not careful. lol.

How lovely to see you back - I knew I could nag you to death!!
I just don't need you to tell anyone that I'm nice, it's just not true mad :x
lol
Dinner IS on you, don't worry, I haven't forgotten the arguement

Shouldn't that be the 'arrangement'? Just PM me as to when you are free and we can dine wherever you wish, as long as it isn't the local transport Cafe. As to you not being 'nice', I know different. But, I also know you have a job in 'here' to keep order.

Oh I just love dragonflies n bumblebees!!!!!!!!! Bees especially ...... at work the other day, the chubbiest bumblebee that ever there was came flying in - how the hell it got off the ground I will never know, looked like a cartoon one, must've been absolutely knackered by the time it landed lol - really small wings on a massive fluffy pudgy body. Soooooooo cute.
Oh and in answer to your first question, however you like whenever you like! cool 8-) 8-)
According to the people who study aerodynamics Bumblebees can't fly. It seems rather illogical when we can see they do. lol. Are you sure you can't get to the NE Munch, I'm sure I can arrange a comfortable hotel for some horizontal gymnastics. If not let me know when you are free and I will drive down to your place. Anything for my Chief Miss. lol.

Well Harry0 - you won't remember me but I remember you. A vein of relative sanity in amongst the crazy gang. I remember you and Arti being the surefire datum against which everybody else oscillated. Welcome back even if it is 'Just Visiting' but keep popping in do.
I wonder if our friend Arti still lokks in occasionally!

Hello Tune,
I do remember you, but I think you may have got Arti and me confused, I thought we were the crazy gang and all the others were more or less sane. Lol.
I think Arti does sneak in once in a while, but he doesn't seem to post anymore. A pity.
SH is very addictive, and it has only been the pressure of work that has kept me from posting. I have so much to do and possibly so little time to do it in. I do not intend to leave this world without leaving my mark on it in some small way. So finishing my work has to be a priority. Once it is completed, I can put my feet up, or when the opportunity occurs, something else up. lol

Lovely to hear from you. Do you remember my last question to you at the Midlands Munch?
Me know HOW, when? lol. I'm glad to see your still here, I've missed your posts. Honest.
A great pity you can't make the munch, it would have been lovely to see you again.

As you mentioned your thesis and books and Dawn seems so keen to get her hands on them, I wonder if it may be something that would interest me?
Any chance of a brief run-down on what they are about?
Thanks.

Hello Easy,
I doubt if they would be of interest to you. My Thesis is about a certain butterfly species, and my books are local Atlass's on the distribution of Dragonflies and Bumblebees. Insects are my only other interest other than in sex. lol

Good Grief Mal,

Hello Ian old son,
I'm afraid that the chatroom has changed too much for me to get back into the swing of things these days. I see I am still classed as a system Op., in there, but it might pay to remove me from the list. I haven't been 'in' under my own name or any alternative name since last May. I will pop into the forum when I can. My trigger finger has frozen solid, in the extended position, still it has its uses, as my lady friend says. lol.

Thank you Bluexxx. I still haven't got over the shock of forgetting to wear my chain mail underwear when we last met at the Midlands Munch. lol.
A man that I call a real gentleman - how lovely to see you are making a guest appearance. I think about you whenever I go into Lets Meet Up section as it still has your stickied thread and have often wondered how you are. It is wonderful to see that life is treating you well and a partner of 32 years omg that has to be a record!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of love Corriexxxxxxx

Ah Corrie.
I can do rough as well. lol. All I need is my builders helmet. check shirt and builders bum jeans. lol. Yes, 32 years is a record I think. I was married 25 years. 20 of them were extatically happy, She lived in Australia and I lived here. lol.
Nice to meet you Harry! I must have joined while you were away!
See you at the Newcastle munch!

Keep up the good work with your books when do we get a taste of em then?
Hope to see you at Newcastle babes

Hello Vicky,
I'm sure there is something else else you would like to taste redface no offence
Hiya Harry!!
Good to hear from you again Harry. I really do hope you manage to make the trip to Newcastle, it would be great to see you again.
Steve

Hello Steve,
Newcastle is only 15 minutes drive away from me, a lot nearer than Blackburn or Manchester, although I did enjoy your party and the Manchester Munch very much, especially after the latter with a certain lady who will remain annonymous. lol. It would be great to see you again.

Hello my friends.
Although it's six months since my resignation from this site, I had so many PM's from various members, I thought it time to let you know I'm still around, and surprisingly (to me) still alive and kicking, and whats more, I'm still fairly lucid. I must admit I do miss so many of you, I have never made so many friends either in word or in bed. redface as I have through Swinging Heaven.
I have spent the past six months or so carrying on with my researches and writing up my Thesis (it's nearly finished) and my two books. Another few weeks should see them all finished. Phew. :notes:
I must admit that in times of depression, I have sneaked into the Forum, for a quick peek, and the humour has bucked me up no end. My thanks to all of you for that.
My mistress and I have just celebrated our 32nd anniversary, her husband still hasn't a clue she is seeing someone else. rolleyes I wonder if that qualifies me for the Guinness Book of Records? lol.
Both Jags and Alexandra have been in touch with me recently, just to check up on how I am, what lovely caring girls they are. Which reminds me, I owe you Dinner Jags. Sometime soon, Eh? What a lovely person she is, not at all like the ogre some people think she is. wink
I hope I may be well enough to go the the Newcastle Munch next month to meet up with some old friends, and perhaps meet some new ones.
Until then my friends be good, and if you can't, be careful. My best wishes to all of you in the Forum and the chatroom.

This mail is a natural product. The slight variation in spelling and
grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no
way are to be considered flaw or defects.
I'm astounded, honestly, at all the supportive 'posts'. E-mails, phone calls and PM's I have received since I made my announcement. :upset:
What a wonderful caring bunch of people you are. I have already replied to many of these messages and will be continuing to do so for several days hence.
I've always regarded myself as the 'Old Fart' in the corner, pontificating on various things, I simply had no idea that my pronouncements or attempts at humour were read very often, never mind valued.
All your messages have persuaded me not to become a total stranger, so I promise I will drop in to The Forum occasionally, when time permits.
I had a long chat with lovely Jags last night, and she convinced me not to be a stranger,
(She's in the wrong job, she could sell ice to Eskimo's). I am determined to make it to one more 'Munch' to see as many of you as possible once again.
Thank you all once again for your kind words, they are very much appreciated.
Harry0
I'm sorry to have to say this, but I too am leaving both The Forum and The Chatroom.
The decision has been forced upon me, because I don't in all honesty want to go. It's not that I have upset anyone (I hope) but I am retiring on medical grounds.
Having been a member since just after the site started I have made many friends and had a lot of laughs along the way. To those of you who I have met, it was a great pleasure. To those I haven't, It's my loss I'm sure.
Thank you all for the pleasure of reading your posts, your humour, and comments. To pick out individuals to thank, I think would be unfair, because you all contribute in your own way.
I will no doubt sneak in for a quick peek now and then, and if I'm up to it, perhaps even put in an occasional post. But there are other more pressing things I now have to do.
So to you all, I hope you find what you want in life, if you don't, then have fun trying. I did.

Come on people, wake up. Microsoft has had a 'patch' for this since the 13th April.
I see the Coastguards's computers all went down today. Someone needs smackbottom for not updating their system.
I cannot understand why people don't have their computers set up so that they automatically search for Microsoft updates and updates for their Anti-Virus programmes as soon as they log on each day. Even logging onto Microsoft or your Anti-virus suppliers web site doesn't take long.
Get into the habit of doing it daily. Unfortunately those who have 'hookie' Windows programmes it might pay to 'cough up' and get it honestly. rolleyes
Harry0
Arty,
You will have a PM later this morning. I must echo what has already been said by many members on your postings, I will miss them, honestly. I do wish we had had more time to chat when we met. Finding a fellow enthusiast on natural history subjects is a rare thing.
Do 'pop in' now and then and see whats happening.

Full blown rant mode:
What the f*cks up with British workmen, don't they want to work?
I am still waiting for the effing builder to turn up 6 weeks after he promised and being put off with vague excuses. Would get another one but they are all "busy". Believe that and you'll believe anything. It's only a half day job that's needed if that.
I've also asked the carpet cleaner ten days ago to come in and "do the lounge carpet". Has he turned up. Has he f*ck!! The worst bit is he's a friend and I know that he spent 2 days last week just playing Command & Conqueur on his computer. :x :x :x

Looks like you will have to face the facts, The British Builder is generally as waste of time. Hence the boom in DIY shops. Near me a builder started work on two new houses last autumn, as soon as the bad weather came along work stopped and no-one appeared for four months. When we got a sunny day recently, two of his men had a walk around the site, did nothing and went off. Seeing as how these houses are being advertised at £275,000 you would think he would at least have some incentive to get the job done. No chance.
I think your best bet would be to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, if you can.
Best of luck.
Harry0
I know I'm getting older, that's no reason to rub it in though.
