Both me and my partner and BBW and although we are relative newbies, we have found nothing but friendly people here. We've been to a couple of events so far with more planned and have encountered all sorts of people, the key is just to be yourself.
If you like to chat the BBW is generally on chat server 1, I can be found lurking late on but there are loads of nice people in there who love a natter, the women are all great and a lot of the blokes can string a sentence together too :shock: If you venture in and I'm around, please say ello!!

A friend of mine who was into photography told me that if you have your pic taken looking back over your shoulder and leave your face relaxed generally makes for a good pic, something to do with what it does to your muscles if I recall properly??
Personally i like having my picture taken when I have spent all day on the drink and don't care what I look like, have had too many cheesy bad smile pics to count (all now consigned to back bedroom cupboard

) I don't think its just you love, everyone has one bad interview. The worst one I had was when I was going to see a bigger rival firm and they pumped me for info about where I was working for a full hour with no intention of offering me a job at the end of it. However, I knew from the first couple of questions that it was a waste of time so I fed them this line about how we were going paperless and that we were all being trained on voice recognition so all the secretaries could be sacked!! Their jaws hit the floor and I almost laughed
Just keep on applying and going to the interviews and something will come up, it really always does. A deep breath, a firm handshake and a friendly smile usually say more about you in the first 2 minutes of meeting an interviewer than anything else you say in the interview.

wxmcpl, I'm a big lass and have always done ok, got the jobs I really wanted. Unless you are applying for the Clinique counter at Debenhams or to be a Gym Instructor I don't imagine your weight will have come into it much (not that it should really with any job) but if you are conscious of your size then its always going to come across in your interview technique.

Me and the missus will be off to the gay haven that is Manchester Pride from Friday til Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend. We just wondered whether there would be any other SH peeps going there for the weekend and if so, does anyone fancy meeting for a drink or two while we are all there??

Can I ask if anyone actually uses these things on the swinging scene?? Although I know about them and that they are recommended, I've never met a woman on the gay scene who has ever used one, they certainly aren't provided like condoms and lube are for the gay guys in bars etc.
I have only ever held one once and it looked like a lump of a marigold glove (it was purple :shock:

I just wished I looked my age so people might think I was too young to swing :shock: ! The missus looks her age (24) but I have always been/looked old for my age and have been going slightly grey since I was about 22/23 and I'm now 27!!
I totally agree with everyone else's comments about age, it seems to me that its certainly more to do with attitude and outlook whereby someone in their 20's can seem more at ease with themselves and the scene than people in their 40's and 50's

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome, met some lovely people who we hope to bump into again in the future :twisted: We were really nervous about meeting so many new people but you can't beat a few beers and a few laughs! It was definitely worth the round trip, we will bring the hygiene facilities again next year if it means we get invited
