Phew! I saw the thread question & thought "but I like loads" !!!
So I feel much better now knowing that I'm not an alcoholic and that most people here like several drinks.
But there only seems to be one, token, non-alcoholic drink for most !!!???
For me it's (in no particular order) :-
a little bit of ice & rather more vodka

any dark German beer
and the one & only favourite non-alcoholic drink is a lovely big frothy cappuchino with a couple of sugars & chocolate dusting.

I don't think any advice from others is really suitable in your situation mutley.
My wife & I recently split after 8 years and one little boy who's 2 now. And no matter what all my friends, relatives & veritable strangers said, I don't think they could ever understand or capture the full picture of the whole turmoil of emotion I was going through.
I guess this might be the same for you so the best thing is to do what you want to do.
Just be positive & do whatever it is that makes you feel better / happy / not quite as shit as you were.
Others may not agree with what you do or don't do but as long as you are happy with it then go with it.
It might help or it might not but until you try you'll never know.
And it's better to have tried and fucked up than never to have tried at all.

It was weeks ago now but this is how long it has taken to get my phone line connected in my new flat.
I just wanted to add my (belated) thanks to Darkfire & everyone else involved in organising this Munch.
It was my first so to say I was overwhelmed by the whole event and the people is a huge under-statement.
Being a bit (some would say, a lot) of a shy, boring, miserable old bugger I probably didn't make the most of the excellent hospitality & friendliness of everyone there. But just standing back and watching all you gorgeous people having such a great time was more than enough for my first Munch.
It was nice to meet all the people I did and hopefully next time I won't be driving so I can indulge in something stronger than Diet Coke & let my hair down a bit with everyone else.
