I did use a linux box as a gateway for abit, but my pappy modem wouldnt install properly so it kept not working propely. well when i say it wouldnt install properly i didnt know what i was doing, so now just use a PC as my gateway at home. (USB modem, alcatel yuk)

Yeah as jonjon said there is no need to have a router if you only have 1 PC.
Its mainly a networking thing, as far as i know thats what i use it for at home, he have a router with some basic NAT and 3 PCs plus an XBOX to play some Halo online. Man those players on there are amazing.....

I'd love to upgrade the MODEM/router but I've had to opt for the one supplied as money is a little tight at the mo' (like non-exsistant). I did try doubling my memory (128 x 2 now I think I'd have to check) as I got offered the memory very cheap from a friend. I guess it may be time to bite the bullet and buy a strip of 512.
Some mobos might like it better if you get 2x256. I know i had a piece of sh*t once and it didnt like 1 512.

Yeah if you go for ram make sure you buy decent stuff, crucials pretty good and also make sure you have enough slots and that you MoBo can support the amount you wish to buy.
And just check to make sure you are getting the right stuff, (breaks into song ...), i.e. sdram will not work for ddr or rdram and vice versa (i think ...)
And at the moment SDRAM is pretty expensive, so it might not be a good option. (or at least it was during the summer)

In all honesty your best bet is to get a hardware firewall, which is one build into say a router.
But a really good one which allows you to do extra techie rules and stuff is Sygate Personal Firewall.
I wouldnt trust the MS firewall personally. It kindof cuts everything so you cant really d/l or do anything special.
So i would use Sygate, you can download it free from (i think) and its pretty easy. ZoneAlarm is ok but i dont really like it anymore not since i found Sygate.
Also as for P2P, it was mentioned, i would recommend either BitTorrent or eDonkey, which is both spyware free and better.

i'd have to say luckily i havent done that yet.
although i was playing CS once and someone laughed but laughed saying lol. Which was bizzare, coz it was prob harder to do that than to just say Ha ha ha.
I do use fone instead of phone though, which is quite annoying. Esp since i work as a web developer for a mobile department.

Yeah i know telephopne interviews aint the big thing, this application has 4 parts i think.
I'd be doing programming for MS, so thats why i was worried thought that they may try a sneaky one with the questions.
But i suppose as long as i am confident, (i didnt lie in the app, which is a bonus
), oh apart from the PhD .........

But i dont know how to prepare, normally i kindof just blag my way in but i really want this job, so not sure what i should look at.
I was hoping some of you might be able to give me pointers as to what not to to do. Heres whats kindof obvious.

To me, as has been already expressed by other eople, if i met someone and i liked them then it doesnt matter what the past holds.
The end of the day you should live for today and not yesterday. So ultimatly what i think you should be worrying about are things that directly affect you on a day to day basis. So if someone isnt happy with you for that reason then F**k them. And similarly you shouldnt look on the wrong side of things. LIke rainbow said if she didnt meet you or find you attractive and told you she wouldnt want you to thin it was because of who you are or what you have done. And you shouldnt think people dont like you because of your gender.
Ultimatly you should be proud of where you are now, i would be and what you must have endured i cant even imagine.
So my words to you would be people on the whole are generally happy with the truth, and if you tell them and they become weird then they are obviously the wrong person you should be worrying about.

although i have had some experiences i still fantasie, the thing is i havent had the right type of experience. Each time i have felt awkward and not completely relaxed. Would like to have a proper experience but not sure what to do.... any suggestions? all my experiences are from the net and it was more of a wham bam and i have recieved oral i would just like to see what it feels like to do it to someone else.
