I would like to big up Nola for being a kind hearted, superstar, gorgeous lady kiss
Ummm it would have to be something pretty big for me to leave the site. I'd be to much of a skinflint to re join! :lol2:
I always wonder who decided that by adding heat to bread you get toast??
Maybe she didn't want to believe all of the clues presented to her but once she had seen with with her own eyes she could no longer ignore it!.

If you were a man / woman* (delete as appropriate) for a day, what would you do?
If I was a man, the things I would like to do would be:
1. Have penetrative sex - would love to know what it feels like from a man's perspective
2. Go to the loo - all that standing up at urinals business, so very different to us ladies
3. Masturbate - I reckon I'd be playing with it lots if I had a cock!
So, if you were someone of a different gender for a day, what would you do?

Snap x
My perfect autumn weekend would be very similar to yours Nola, I love walking in the autumn feeling the leaves crunch under my feet, although I have been known to fall ass over tit slipping on wet leaves... confused .
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. My sister suffers from depression and lazy-itus. When she is really down to get her to do the most simplist of tasks is such a chore, I have to call her daily to make sure things are done, drive her to places to makesure things get done. To some my actions could be seen a bullying but without some interference i'm not quite sure where she would end up!.
Ours came today :bounce:. You'd never get a pint in the glass tho...

Personally I have always paid my tax and my NI because of my home business , and whilst i appreciate that this thread was started because of a family in different circumstances to mine can i just say one thing -
Walk a mile in their shoes one day b4 u criticise how they live and dont tar all claimants of benefits with the same brush.

The real shame of the UK system is that the self employed - even though paying NI basic + Class 4 are disenfranchised from the benefits system.. and then people who don't really need benefits get them without much difficulty..
Quite galling really..
If i hadnt paid my NI i would have had problems claiming my widowed parents allowance which btw is just over £70 a week and tbh i nearly fell over when they told me how much - so just to hijack this thread a little - should a surviving parent be paid that???
Yes and a bit more.
Your circumstances are what the system was designed for. A parent that has lost their partner should get all the help they deserve.
OK and if i now told u that when i last sat down and worked out that i receive approx £13k a year from benefit - this includes Housing Benefit, Working Child Tax Credit and also Widowed Parent Allowance what would the reactions then be. I know wot my reaction was when i saw the figures - total and utter amazement. Now find me a part time (around skool hours) job that would pay me that much per year. Yes i have the "sympathy" vote on my side, but what makes ME so different from a family where the husband is disabled and therefore cant work.
Why should i not fall in the same category that lyns mentioned in their original post, think the word "scroungers" and "sitting around on backside" all day was mentioned. That was the comment that annoyed me not the orignal thread btw 777 lol
And tbh if i had a choice between working a normal job on less money and struggling to bring up my son and keep a roof over my head or staying on benefits and just about keeping my head above water then yes I will choose benefits everytime. It does make me a scrounger, widowed or not, disabled or not. You do wot u have to do when u have to do it.
I do understand tho that ppl who work full time and struggle to makes ends meet as most do especially at the moment - see ppl like me and prob the family mentioned in the link and think that there is something wrong with the system. But one day, should god forbid your loved one is hurt and can no longer work or worse as in my situation, be grateful the system is there, because once upon a time I would have been where most others are now - critising someone for having an "easy life". Like i said in my original post - Walk a mile.............
No one said that you should be tarred with the same brush, the benefit system is there for a reason as a crutch to help those desperatly in need. Some abuse the system (as I stated in my post after the original one, I don't know how to multi quote!).
My gripe is with those who think the world owes them a living. I have been a single parent struggling to pay bills rent childcare etc with no help from the father all be it for a short time and it is hard on many levels.
Im sorry if my post offended you, it wasn't a personal dig at anyone and your circumstances are very different to those in the article mentioned.
In edit, this was a post of mine earlier on in the thread!
It is a huge bug bear of mine...
I know a girl my age, with three kids and a husband, they have a newer car than me, sky+ and sky multi-room, a ps3 two of the kids have nineteno ds', top of the range widescreen flatscreen tv and everthing else that goes with it.
She has never worked a paid day in her life. It angers me so much that they can screw the government for what they have and have no shame in doing it, when many working parents are struggling to keep a roof over their kids heads let alone buy all the mod cons.

They should be totally ashamed of themselves. He may well be disabled but didn't stop him dipping his wick and making babies that he can't afford to bring up!, she should be working school hours I can't see any reason why she can't, I do.
This country is full of scroungers who won't take responsibily for their actions and it f**ks me off. Its about time the government overhauled the benefit system, at present it is just to easy for people to sit on their backsides doing f**k all, I suggest vouchers for food and clothing and very little cash!.

You go girl. lol
I was thinking that too, but felt I would tone it down a tad. biggrin
She should be FORCED to work for her benefits. cool As Gaunty would say " the ferel and the long term useless". lol lol

I lived with my grandparents from the age of 6 till I rebelled and left home at 16!.
I never had friends round for tea after school sad , I never had friends over for a sleepover sad and I was never allowed to just lounge around the house, I had to be up dressed and busy sad.
The only thing I wanted was what I classed as a normal family.
I think it has shaped me into the parent I am now tho, I have our 5 year olds friends round for tea and round to play in the holidays, oh and we have a pj day every now and again!!.
The annoying voices of Big cook Ben and little cook Small.... if you have little one you'll understand...
