A very serious question sent!!
My second cousins grew up in South Africa. The girl came back to the UK with her mum when I was about 8 but her brother stayed out there with their dad till about 5 years ago when he decided to move back to the UK. He met (in a nightclub) fell in love and married my very good friends younger sister.
Myself and Mr Lyns used to live three streets apart when we were younger and attended the same nursery but a few years apart. We both moved away from the area and met up many years later.
Some rather relieving news :rose:
Being a parent is the hardest job there is no doubt about that.
If you hit a child, that is your anger and your frustration that you are trying to dispell. It has nothing to do with diciplining the child. As soon as you smack, hit, whack (insert whichever here) a child you have lost the control.
I don't believe me having a smack or two as a child has done me any lasting harm on the other hand it didn't teach me anything either.
I'm not a perfect parent and I have smacked my eldest child but have always felt instant regret and I have instantly known that I have lost control.
I don't yet know which dicipline technique is most effective for my children but I do know that hitting them isn't going to have the desired effect.
I was christened as a child as was my sister.
My husband and I married in a church and he has never been christened.
I would allow my children to make their own choices regarding religion as I/we do not particulary believe in god.
Our eldest attends a C of E school so knows a little of religion and has Father John come into school to take assembly once a week. The whole school attend church a few times a year.
Flower I think you are right in that your daughter is now to old for you to make the decision for her and inly you and her mum will know if she is mature enough to make the decision for herself.
My 5 year old dragging me out into the garden for her very first snowball fight :rose:
Dunno what we're having yet...
I watched this last night, I have never cried so much to a tv program    .
The scary thing is this could happen to any of us and I for one would not like to live a life where I have no quality of life at all. I would want to spare my family the pain and the burdun of caring for me. I am pro euthanisia and would support any of my family if it was also their wish to die a digified death.
