ooooh, finally stickied!
I love this munch already, since I don't have to drive to the other end of the bloody country to go to it. biggrin
I have no helpful suggestions at all, but here's a great big HUG and hope it all gets sorted out without causing too much coldness and wetness!

Bugger, really have to start deciding what to wear!

Since it sounds like we've got the communications covered... biggrin
I'd bring books... my iPod... a really big warm snuggly jumper... and my new chocolate fountain to which I think I'm beginning to form a slightly unhealthy attachment! (Is it normal to sit alone in your kitchen at midnight looking for things that would be good covered in chocolate? 'Hmm.... Chocolate-covered Doritos... well, it might work' redface :D
Hi, you two -
What an absolutely lovely first post. I think you're going to fit in well here. smile
I'm 22 (oooh, first time I've said that - sorry. birthday over the weekend!) and have been on SH for a year now, although I didn't get that involved until quite recently. I can tell you that your age is not a problem - there are people here looking for all sorts of different things from all sorts of different people. If you have a bit of a read of some of the posts in the Cafe and Let's Meet Up, you'll see that 'swinging' means something different to everyone.
So I suppose what you have to do is work out what you want it to mean to you.
Do you want to have individual meets with other couples, single females or single blokes? If so, the photo ads are quite a good place to start. You can either put up your own ad or answer other peoples' - from this post, you're obviously articulate and willing to take the time to go into some detail, which is a real bonus in the ads section. If you get chatting to people and 'click', it's very common to meet socially before you decide to go any further... a lot of people have a rule that the first meet is always purely social. Anyone who is worth meeting, will also be sure to take things at a pace that keeps everyone comfortable - and if you're not comfortable at any point, there's no shame in saying 'we're not ready for this yet,' and taking a step back.
Do you want to play only with each other initially, but with other people around, who you might possibly want to join in with you eventually? A club might be a good idea - read some of the reviews in the tab at the top, you'll see that clubs are not pushy environments, and you are absolutely free to take things at your own pace. (lol, says she who is yet to go to a club!)
The other thing you'll see mentioned an awful lot is coming along to an SH munch - these are designed to be purely social evenings, where you can meet lots of people, strike up friendships which might eventually turn into more, chat to everyone else about their experiences and get some advice from those who've been around a bit longer than you. They're definitely the best way to get involved with SH and make friends with other SHers. They're also, believe me, a hell of a lot of fun!
The key thing to remember is that YOU are in control of what you do, or don't do. There's a world of fun here, of all different levels, and you can join in on as many or as few of those as you like. Look after each other, and get to know some of us - this is a really caring community, and everyone wants to make sure that everyone else is ok.
Please feel free to PM me if you'd like to.
love, Cocoa xxx
Awwww, you guys redface biggrin
Didn't want to bump this myself by saying thankyou, but since tatty and Marty have bumped it now....
THANK YOU!!!!
I had a lovely birthday. I got a little drunk. I saw some friends I hadn't seen for a while. My brother and sister bought me a chocolate fountain, which is the coolest thing ever. And I felt all snuggly and loved when I came back to the forums after the weekend and found this thread (and Vix's other one!)
Can't wait to see some of you again / finally meet you in Wigan... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: And those who aren't going to make it, see you at the next one. kiss
love Cocoa xxx

I couldn't agree more - I have spent quite a bit on undies and "other stuff" ready for Wigan next Sat and it's making me even more excited and fired-up for it! biggrin

Ooooh, good idea.... I think I know how I'm spending tomorrow afternoon! We can compare our new undies on Saturday.
Yes?
This is the first time I've been summoned into anyone's welcome thread. Honestly, I'd've been along in a minute...
Hello and welcome, Tamworthguy. wave
Once, aged about 5, wandered in to a dinner party my parents were having for a load of work people, to ask if I was allowed to get one of the popsicles I knew mum had left in the freezer for me. Just got a bit confused with all the long words.
'Mummy, am I allowed one of the testicles from the freezer, please?'
Intelligence, creativity, passion for something outside themselves, the ability to make me laugh, a sense that they're comfortable with who they are, a sense that they're comfortable with who I am, a propensity for silliness and drunken misbehaviour, the ability to work out when I'm trying to be funny biggrin , the ability to work out when I need to be listened to - the ability to listen to me when I need it. Interesting thoughts, an interesting past, the ability to take the piss out of themselves.
And I tend to find that once I'm attracted to someone's personality, I find something (or everything!) in their looks that does it for me as well.
Angelina Jolie. I think she's great - she's incredibly sexy, a wonderful mum, a talented actress, has achieved success where she wanted to, pissed off half the world and made the other half love her.
She's half what I want to be - and half what I know I never could be, and probably wouldn't want to. I admire her for both!
I'm going to take it as read that is despicable. I won't get started on that, because I might not stop.
What I do want to say though, is that I wish women would not 'cry ' when it wasn't, just because they have other motives, or regretted it in the morning, or whatever. It belittles the hell that women who have actually been have to go through - and it leads to opinions like those mentioned in bluexxx's original post. And it does happen - maybe not often, certainly not most of the time, but it happens and it changes the way people feel about .
is so awful, and destructive, that being a victim of should not be brought into disrepute by people who just kind of wish they hadn't shagged that guy. And it must also be the worst thing in the world to have a drunken shag, and then suddenly find yourself branded a .
What a nice thing to do for a birthday present. smile
I would be a little careful about making it a complete surprise, though. If she's at all nervous about any of this, then she might panic if it's too sudden. I do like Missy's idea of telling her at the start of the evening - that gives her time to think about it without any pressure, and back out if she's not happy.
Oh, I really know what you mean. There are a number of people I intend to leave death-bed-stylee confessions for, just so they spend the rest of their lives thinking, 'Wow, I really misjudged her!'
On the other hand, I recently 'confessed' about swinging to a friend who said 'Yeah, that doesn't surprise me at all - I kind of wondered if you did'! Which is worse? redface biggrin
And it's not just about swinging, either - I often feel the same way when I'm having a crap day at work and no-one appreciates me and some idiot talks to me as though I'm (a) eight years old and (b) really thick. It makes you just want to stand up and scream:
'I am a VERY interesting person! I have deep thoughts about lots of things! And I have a whole life you know nothing about! And you're really just not as superior as you think you are!'

P.S. Without meaning this as a compliment in any way, I don't think you're jolly at all :D

If you want to be a community behave like one and welcome new blood
and stop taking the piss out of vanillas or newbies
just my opinion, you are welcome to dissmiss it

We are a community and a lovely one at that, and, as someone who still considers herself a newbie, I can't imagine a better welcome than the one I've received here. You get out what you put in. And the piss-taking is part of what makes this community so great, as long as no-one has a sense of humour failure.
I'm going to pop out of this thread now as otherwise I might become offensive, and that wouldn't do, now would it? smile

Just a thought whats the diff between a promiscious vanilla male, and a single male on here who is only looking to meet single women? well apart from the vanilla getting more sex LOL

The best kind of single guy on here (and the one who gets lot of sex! biggrin ) is completely different to a vanilla male who's shagging around. Single guys here are polite, discreet, respectful, interested not only in sex but in friendship as well, and really care about the people they swing with, and making sure everyone is happy and comfortable and has a good time. Women are never left feeling used, or cheap. Everyone knows the score, and everyone goes away happy.
(anyone else feeling a bit like they've been making sweeping generalisations about vanillas tonight? Just so I've said it - I know it's not all of them. I have a specific 'type' in mind, and I know not all non-swingers are like that. /pussyfoot)

awwwwww!!! :inlove: :inlove:
So happy for you both. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing - it's lovely to hear such happy news!
Just read this on a friend's blog and I had to share - still laughing at it now! It was on the Scott Mills show on Radio 1 yesterday, and this girl had apparently sent him an email with an embarassing story. He called her to ask her to tell it on air. After rather a lot of 'Oh, no, I can't, it's just too awful'-type protests, she finally told him and this is the story:
"I went out on Saturday night and met this guy. We clicked somehow, I liked him. We flirted, and by the end of the night we were together. I don't usually do this, but I went home with him. We had a great night, and I didn't regret going back to his because I really liked him and didn't think of it as a one night stand. I had to go into work on the Sunday, early, so I got up before he woke up. I went into his bathroom to get ready to leave, and I needed the toilet. Like, um, a, you know, number two. So I, um, went. But the thing was, I quickly discovered that the toilet wouldn't flush. I kept trying but it wouldn't. And it had started to smell. Really, really bad.
I kept trying to flush it, but it just wouldn't.
So I started to panic.
I couldn't face just leaving it there, stinking. I just couldn't. So I found a plastic bag that was lying there and, well, scooped it. I wrapped it in toilet roll, planning to get rid of it on my way home. So I made to exit, quickly.
I thought I'd just write a little note for him, so I found a bit of paper on the kitchen table and wrote a note, just saying I had a great time, I'd love to see you again soon, here's my number. I signed it with a kiss and left the house.
I was halfway home before I realised that I'd left the bag on the table. Next to the note."
