Britain is broken in two respects:
1) Manufacturing
To develop an income for a nation you need something that other nations are prepared to buy. Most developed countries maintain a manufacturing industry for exactly that purpose. We have not. Instead, the sexy world of finance was seen to be the best way of assuring income and her beckoning call was answered - succesive governments bent over and took it all. We can see what happens when that particular finance stream falls over (I won't call it an industry because it 'produces' nothing). This fickle revenue generation method is crazy - banking can be moved to anywhere with good communications.
Until we have a stable manufacturing industry, we will not get 'richer' as a nation.
2) Society
It has broken down - certainly.
Neighbours often don't know each others names, stick up for each other and ensure that the moral fibre of our society is cascaded by their own actions.
Thirty years ago, if a child was disciplined at school (whether corporal or otherwise), the last thing they wanted was for their parents to find out - otherwise they got it all over again at home. Now ? Instant trip to the school and rants at teachers for picking on their offspring.
That's my two-pennorth and I'm off my soap box now.

i just dont get it.
now i would get this sort of thing on a free site. but why would someone pay to post as something they are not?

I've had two of these in the past fortnight or so, and I asked myself the same question.
The only answer I have is that it's how they get their kicks (and I guess they know we will respond..... 'just in case' .....

You Scored as Experimental
(((Note: I haven't covered all aspects of BDSM in this quiz due to the length the quiz would have to be. It is sex-based because psychological profiles can be complicated and motivations for engaging in fetishes vary with couples and individuals. I have written this category as one of the alternatives because this quiz is to test inclination not a definite interest in BDSM.))) Experimentation is a great place to be. Open-mindedness when it comes to sexuality can open doors and allow you to discover things that you didn't think you would find engaging. Having such a curious attitude can help you learn more about your own sexual nature as well as the nature of others.

God im glad someone got me! maybe you just pull things apart too, but this to me is the real issue here

I was going to say "Great minds think alike"
but .......
"Only fools agree" spring to mind too !
LOL
Yes, I DO like to pull things apart - we hide everything in political correctness these days and no-one dares say what they really feel any more sad
Most are valid points, however The Pope does have something of a dilemna - if the Catholic Church states that homosexuality is wrong, it's their choice.... for sure.
If they say "And we will not therefore employ gay priests", well again, that is cheir choice, after all, it IS 'their' religion.
So, now they have rules and live by those rules.
Simple.
Now a government says, OK, but you can't employ those rules in this country, it's discriminatory.
Yes, it is, that's the whole point, because if they did NOT discriminate, then they have (by default) fouled their religions basis (well.... part of it anyway).
Therefore..... (logical progression), if the UK says that the Catholic Church cannot follow this discriminatory policy, they are also (by default) discriminating against the fundamental beliefs of that religion ...... thin ice I think !
And..... isn't religious discrimination the worst kind ?
It starts wars ....

It does however beg the quetion of why we should bother to create a more equitable society?

I agree, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"
Mind you, a mild beating every now and then isn't so bad
Is anyone short of a nice, considerate (and genuine) guy tonight ?
Please drop me a line via SH mail and I'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks,
Tony

i did say whether we could use it as an example married, not that i was 100% certain,
is socially dependant state worth googling, and are there other examples?
I agree with what socialism is not, but do you not think the alturistic urge could he harrnessed to counteract the urge of the aplha to dominate.

Ah, yes, I apologise if I seemed a little dismissive !
But...... could the urge be harnessed and Alpha's counteracted ?
No, I don't believe so - there is always a need for someone to administrate anything larger than a commune, and this leads to lots of opportunities for greed to rise and flourish - we are by nature, hunter-gatherers, and this genetic coding will come to the surface in some of us, regardless of the greater mass to want otherwise.
NB: MP's expenses really demonstrates this even in what you would think is a fairly area ......

we could use britain 1939 to 45 as an example of a successful socialist state.

Umm...... no.
Britain '39 - '45 was a 'socially dependent state', driven by a single goal (a war) and quickly reverted to a true capitalist identity powerfully demonstrated by the Berlin airlift and it's statements about the soviets at that time.
We often confuse social responsibility and dependence with Socialism, but they are worlds apart.
Most importantly, as someone already said, we are naturally heirarchical (think Alpha male, etc) and cannot function in a truly Socialist way as the Alpha male (or similar) will always rise to the top and 'control' the mass - which is exactly what Socialism is NOT.
There are no real examples of long term national Socialism that has worked without some dictatorial control, and this means it's not true Socialism.
The only thing screwing it up is human nature !
This is also patrolled a LOT now - quite an unfriendly approach by local police too - I would suggest avoiding it also.
Oh yes - And....... I'm BACK - Yippee !
(For all those that still remember me from way back !)
I'm back in the UK and horny as hell ;
About thirteen or fourteen -can't remember the exact age, but I DO remember it clearly. After that, it's a surprise that I wasn't blind by 15 rolleyes

1.
How do singles fit into swinging? Whats the difference between swinging & having f**k buddies(pardon the expression)..is there one? do you see it like that?

Err... does it really matter ?
I'm not being dismissive, but don't understand the point, unlike question 2 .......

2.
whats the difference between swinging and prostitution???

Okay, shoot me down, but swinging is 'enjoying an open and potentially polygamous set of sexual relations with simmilar minded people'.
Prostitution is exchanging sexual acts for money.
So.......
Unless the club pays the women, it's swinging.
If I pay for a hotel for a female 'friend' and the inevitable happens, is she a prostitute ?
Well.... I paid didn't I ?
See my point ?
Hope so !
600 - just trying to work out which button to use for voting (am I being a bit stupid here ?)
I'm surprised at the score though, to be honest, nothing seemed overtly 'kinky' to me.
Well...
Maybe the vampire stuff is a bit 'strange', but not kinky ......

It would probably take less than 30 seconds a week to delete the admin pm's, should leave you 604770 seconds free time after that every week.

I can't believe you sat and worked that out !
(You weren't an accountant before were you ?)

i thought that was constructive criticism..............

If you'd advised how to make it better, then it would have been constructive.
Without explanation or advice, it's just destructive.
I still smiled though.
Your profile says you are a single male - did I read your original post incorrectly or what ?
Are you a couple or a single male ?

Well however hard it is to meet 'genuine' people - it is still a darn sight easier than trying to meet alien life!

I just heard on the radio that Michael Jackson wants to meet an alien, and has asked an 'extra terrestrial investigator' to help him.
rolleyes
I wonder what's in his profile / advert ?
PL, have you been talking to him ?

I was in the National Gallery in Cardiff last week and in the shop was a shild's dressing up roman helmet made of a soft foamy type stuff, the label on the inside said 'Caution. Do Not Misuse'

I think any kind of dressing up as a Roman should be considered 'misuse' !
(What is it with the bloody Romans this week ?)

OK just once more guys ! lol
My point is its too late !
Even if the Government "pay up " they are going to clawback that money by cutting Jobs.
and that means more unemployment and lack of services..
You may get your pension but make sure you don't get ill because there will be no hospital and keep driving your car because there will be no bus ! Oh and "buy a shotgun" because there will be no police .in short take your money and run !

I agree to a cirtain extent, what's the point of striking if there's no money there to stike for. But surely the people who decided that this was the best thing to do are the same people who award themselves payrises above and beyond inflation. The amount of money waisted on burocracy in this country is appauling.
Too true - why is it that there are as many administrators in the NHS as there are medical workers ? (when the government spend more each year on health - is this what they mean ?)
The police forces are 'on their knees' as they just don't have resources (i.e. people) any more to cope.
The point of striking is to make an issue of this situation - if no-one says anything, it becomes accepted. FFS we should ALL be shouting about this right now. I'm not a fan of strike action, but to revoke peoples rights is bang out of order, and if it's not dealt with in an appropriate manner, as someone else said, it's going to be carte blanche for the next stupid f***ing idea !
