Well I count myself very lucky then coz my local shop opens at and closes at 8.
I don`t think anyone is realstically saying don`t shop in them but the large stores have strangled out the corner shops where local produce was sold, the sort of places you`d meet friends and neighbours for a chat, I remember those days, the smaller shops were part of the cummunity now replaced for many of us by endless queueing at a till.
Its not about tomatoes ffs, its about community

Just because these mega stores can throw it out at cheap prices it doesn`t make it good quality.
I wholly agree with the tomato test, the local grocers by me have veg with dirt on that taste like veg is supposed to and tomotoes on the vine that smell like the ones you grow in a greenhouse and taste divine, and sweet and juicy cucumbers not the bitter dried up things you get in supermarkets.
The local butcher has great cuts of meat not that pale stuff they sell in supermarkets as best top side of beef, or some scraggy bit of lamb for around a tenner, and real bacon not that watered-down wafer thin shit that takes 5 slices to make a decent sandwich.
The only advantage a super market has is the opening hours if you need butter at at night.

BMW has a prince albert and his pee doesn`t go every where so don`t belive that, and as for being out of action with BMW it was more like 6 hours not 6 weeks

I too am loving the weather
Yesterday after a little retail therapy I took my 4yr old nephew to a country park and just sat for 2 hours watching him enjoy himself running, climbing and jumping off anything he could find, bliss.
This morning was spent wiht my lover semi-naked on a blanket in a field doing what comes naturally at this time of year, the warmth on us and simply enjoying being together in the morning sun, again bliss

The handbag museum was very good too, all those little beads intricately placed and held with tiny stitches, altho I do see that this may not appeal to a guy :doh:
We had some great food too and I would agree that you need good footwear as some of the centre is cobbled and it blooming hurts through your flip-flops

Years ago I used to have a boss with a massive comb over, even walking down the corridor the thing would be waving at us from 2 feet beyond the back of his head, gawd knows how he coped on a windy day, then he`d scoop it all up in one hand and scrape it back over his scalp, bless him :giggle:

I`m not impressed by graphics, dont like car chases or explosions.
I like good scripts and well acted parts
you cant pick the best of all time, so many genres its impossible

I sprinkle grated cheddar, finely minced spring onion and sometimes shredded ham on to the cooked pancake still in the pan. When the cheese melts I roll it up.
Spinach and lots of nutmeg with cheese is good too. The spinach has to be cooked slowly with butter first.
Mushrooms cooked in olive oil and garlic are good.
A couple of times I've shredded a crisp iceberg lettuce and spring onion and chilli with a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil. A bit like a spring roll. Bean sprouts would be a good addition to that.
A banana sliced lengthways thinly, warmed on top of the pancake then with a sprinkle of dark sugar then thick cream and a splash of rum.
Runny honey and lemon juice.
Damson jam and sloe gin
Maple syrup, natch.
One variation is to grate an apple into some of the mix and fry that. It is a lot thicker and needs to be cooked more slowly. Thats nice with cinnamon and caster sugar.
Olive oil to fry the savoury ones; butter for the sweet ones.
And as people who know me will verify, I'm a tosser.

I`m not sure I can comment on that :giggle:
However a really good pancake has raspberries in it and greek yougurt with honey or syrup over it.
Or golden syrup with really good clotted cream or vanilla ice cream mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
