I for one am just astounded by the double standards here. I have to say I agree completely with Max on this subject, but had I have said some of the things to another member on here that Max has said to Mids, and the other way around, I would be on yet another ban.
There is just no consistency here whatsoever. My last ban I asked what it was for and was refused an answer. I had another member contact me to ask what it was for as they looked back over my posts and could see nothing at all, and yet the slagging off that is now going unpunished when I would have been banned for it is laughable. Whilst I would never stick up for Flower, I can understand why he was pissed with being banned for calling someone a doughnut and then not appologising. Does it all depend who is on what shift here?
I am not asking for anyone to be banned for anything said in this thread or in fact any other thread, but what I am asking for is a bit of fecking consistency from the site.
I am going to, and have so far succeeded to refrain from answering any question from the member that runs to admin at the slightest drop of a nose drop, at least that way I have half a chance of yet not another ban, but the next ban had better be a permanent one as I won't be back.

Yes a MAX reply for sure, no solutions, no answers to the questions, no "oh yes I never thought about what happens on 2 lane motorways or for traffic that is not permitted in the 3rd lane" just scorn.
You are the best at telling people what they shouldn't do but can never justify what you say with fact and never come up with an alternative idea that could work.
Says a lot more about you than it does about me Max lol

Keep going... One day you may even learn how to construct a coherent argument!
There is only one way to settle this ....
*takes Max to her left side & Midscouple to the right and leads them to the SH Urinals*
Right stand back 3 paces, no cheating now ....Ok, the one that can pee up the wall the furthest wins ok?
You both have opinion, both obviously differ to the other but why oh why oh why (did I say that enough?) you have to A/ Make things so personal all the time and B/ Keep on bleating about what is pretty much the same point......well it's anyones guess.
Anyway, on your marks ....
Because they are always demanding an answer to their questions or proof of what people say yet when challenged to do the same they never actually do, in this thread Max says "I have asked you three times to show me in the Highway Code blah blah blah, and I did but he still won't answer my questions, GnV will not show me where I made the statement he quotes me on, they just like to argue without reason or basis and will call black, white if it suits them, they are children playing in the forums and it ruins good discussion.
Shame the forums are not like the chatrooms where when you block someone you dont have to read what they write and vice versa, perhaps then more people would use the forums instead of fearing to do so because they know they will be ridiculed and questioned like some sort of Spannish Inquisition by people unqualified and too stupid to ask such questions.

I am obviously a tosser as i DEFINETLY DONT SPEED !
I think if i did it would only ever be if i was getting to one of my kids or my husband in an emergency or if i was driving and some one was having problems and to avoid them hitting me i would speed to get out of the way ... however i have never had to do either of those things so far in many years of driving.
I dont speed ever, call me what you want i dont care smile
I have always voted for the same party all my voting life and i supose that if they said they would have a referendum about bringing back capitol punishment then i would mostl likely still vote for them.
However i would always vote NO to bringing back capitol punishment.

Yes to both questions smile
Having had someone close to my die after being in an RTA where the other driver was driving dangerously (and went to prision for it) i defintely would pass on the video to the police simply to maybe save others from going thru what we have been thru due to some idiots dangerous driving !
I don't mind being called a snitch if it saves someones life :)

My family totally agree with the above, we all have a responsibility for the safety of others.

A good post.

Thank you star, we're trying to join in with sensible comments but its difficult sometimes as you guys are sooooo serious !
No we only joke with each other Gerty lol
The forum can always do with new posters as it just gets plain boring with the same ones. wink
I dont find it all jokey, i find some posts very hurtful (not to me but to others) and nasty and spiteful ... but im sure you and others like that !
There are many people in this world who are paid far far to much for the job they do but personally i LOVE football and love watching it so i am happy that they are paid so much because i enjoy watching them play smile
i prefer footballers to other "celebraties" (yes i cant spell but i dont care :) )

If you don't want to pay their wages, dont buy the kit, dont go to the matches, dont pay for Sky Sports.
Ask the players at Port Vale or Acrington Stanley why they think an average of £50 grand a year is not excessive.

sorry Mids, yes that old apple. I don't buy the kit or go the matches and don't have sky let alone sky sports. Rather than hijack your post should I set up another one to discuss role models in modern society ?
yes smile

When you consider the pain people have gone through to win the right to vote, particularly women, what an odd thing to say!
Voting is never pointless. A single vote can make a difference.

How very true GnV. No vote is pointless, so to the lady in question....it is YOUR right to vote and please use that vote.
( UKIP ) is the way to go. wink
As Nellie is disabled IIRC, I would wonder if she would cast her vote for a party which parks it's campaign bus in a disabled parking bay lol
I have no idea who you are refering to. However i have no interest in disabled parking bays and who parks there nowadays. I dont park there, i park in ordinary bays as i dont have a blue badge.

I will be voting later as long as hubby will drive me down to the polling station, although my vote will be pointless because the torys always get in where i live sad

Nothing odd about it as far as i can see, the torys win by a huge majority where i live so my vote wont alter who is the winner.
It would take more than a single vote to make a difference where i live.
I am well aware of what people have gone thru to get the vote, and i am using my vote but it wont help the party i prefer.
I will be voting later as long as hubby will drive me down to the polling station, although my vote will be pointless because the torys always get in where i live sad
If someone has been injured or died in an rta then they need to take photos and take measurements and stuff ready for court.
I am glad they do becuause it meant that bastard that killed soomeone in my extremly close family (in a rta) was sent to prison. That accident caused very serious injuries to someone who later died even though the accident itself didnt appear to be very serious, so i presume thats why they take the time to correctly record it.
Iphones are the best ........... lol
We all know that's not true lol
Well certain newspapers say Blair agreed with the funeral years ago so but i did only look at one page of Google so maybe there is other evidence but i cant be bothered to search for it smile
Im not sure how that shows that he admires her thougfh but hey ho i will go along with your comment :)

I thought that Thatcher just got rid of the companies that were oozing money, more importantly taxpayers money down the drain?
Anyone would think that Thatcher left office last year, and not all those years ago. When Blair eventually got the Tories out, did he give the unions back their power, or get back the loss making companies Thatcher sold off by any chance? Did he actually reverse any of her policies?
Secretly he admired her and Brown even invited her to number 10 and had a very nice photo opportunity.
Ah...........Silence.

That bit smile
What were we suposed to pay it with though ?
Our combined wages didnt cover the poll tax plus rent on our tiny house and food and bills ?
If i worked more hours then i would have had to pay for childcare and that would have cost more than i earned (as a nurse) !
Nowadays i live in a household with 3 adults who all pay towards the council tax and the amount each of us pay out of our wages is less than the percentage the poll tax was from our wages then (not explained that well but im sure you know what i mean).
I don't think i wished her dead but i can see why many people would.
The Poll Tax made my and my familys life impossible. I was the mother of 2 young children. My (then) husband worked hard, i worked part time when he was home so he could look after the children, i wasn't able to work when he was working because child care was way to expensive. We didnt have holidays or days out that cost anything, we lived a very difficult life finacialy.
I had to pay the same poll tax as someone who was working full time and my husband also had to pay it. When that was paid out of our small wages there wasn't actually enough money left over to pay the rent, pay the bills and buy food. We got no help from the state. If it wasn't for my parents heliong us by buying us food etc then there would have been many times when only the children would have food !
Hence i hate MT.
So although i don't think i wished her dead i am not shedding any tears, i shed them in the days when i was cold and hungry and waiting for mum to pop round with food for us !
I don't care if she's dead or alive.
I am just extremly grateful she's not PM still as she made mine and my childrens life dreadful (the Poll Tax) .... if it hadn't been for my parents finacial help then my children wouldn't have been fed and kept warm let alone have clothes !
Hopefully her funeral will be paid for by her family and not my taxes !

I am proud to admit that i never speed, even before the death in our family i didn'nt speed.

What not even 2mph over the limit? Sorry Nellie that is just purely impossible, and if it were at all possible that would mean you would be looking more at your speedo than the road ahead which is ten times more dangerous than the speed itself, as you are not watching the road ahead at all times.
Everyone creeps over the limit whether you are in a 30 or on a motorway. Even my Elderly Father who thinks 40mph is faster than a space rocket can on occasion creep over the 30 limit and can even get to 33 mph.
I never speed.
I am considered a good and safe driver by those in the know.
I would only ever speed if it was to get away from an accident happening around me or if i needed to get to my children or grandchildren or husband in an emergency.
I have been drinving for many many years both as a car driver and in the past on motor bikes
I have been involved in one accodent as a car driver (non on a bike) and that wasnt my fault, the other driver was prosected by the police.
I drive every day usually (not at the moment due to having had an operation so not allowed to drive for a few weeks) and i drive happily all over the country, in the past i have also driven in France.
As i said before .... I am proud to say i dont speed smile
I am all for having speed cameras, i hope those in my county arn't turned off although at the moment that's not likely to happen thank goodness !
I think anything that lowers accidents, injuries and deaths on the roads is good and important to keep
I had a very close family member die follwing a RTA and the trauma and long standing problems that that death caused all family and friends is huge and i would hate anone else having to go though that
I do remember the Serious Collisions Unit police saying that speed cameras are a good way of stopping deaths.
I am proud to admit that i never speed, even before the death in our family i didn'nt speed.

He isn't likely to get out in 15 years though.

Absolutely right!
It is highly unlikely he will ever again walk the streets a free man....Why are people A:WAYS so quick to complain that the sentences are too lenient?? These comments bear no relation to reality.... this guy will almost certainly die behid bars ...which i think we would all agree is no more than he deserves..."lenient sentence?" I don't think so!

We do this in a way though.
I know of someone who killed a passenger in their car in a RTA.
Then a few years later he killed someone else in an RTA and he then got the biggest sentence possible for that crime simply because he had done it before.

But that would only be taken into account if it were recent. If the first RTA was say in 1984 and the second one in 2011, I would be unsure if a Judge would look at both crimes in the same light as they would be years apart. There are always mitigating circumstances for all Judges when passing sentence.
They were a big time apart, i put "few" simply because i don't wish to give to much info about myself, family and friends away.
According to the police, CPS and judge, the amount of time betwen the offences is/was imaterial.
In fact although the crimes were the same thing (someone driving a vehicle killed someone else while doing that and then repeated the crime years later) when the first crime was commited the actual name of the offence was different from what it was called when the second crime was commited !
Yes the judge does look at all evidence when sentancing someone but he said that because the person had done the same crime in the past then the sentence would be higher which is also what the police and CPS said.
