Another thing we could learn from the US is the 3 strikes and your out rule, however I would amend this, commit arson twice then steal a pizza so you get life is ridiculous but related crimes such as multiple car theft, multiple murders at different times, multiple benefit fraud the third conviction should carry a mandatory maximum sentance for that offence.
For example two convictions of fraud and one for drunk and disorderly should not break the 3 strikes rule. 3 convictions for violent crime should

We do this in a way though.
I know of someone who killed a passenger in their car in a RTA.
Then a few years later he killed someone else in an RTA and he then got the biggest sentence possible for that crime simply because he had done it before.
A very odd test .... why does it need to to know how much my husband earns ? He keeps his money and i keep mine ! He earns way way more than me but i have savings and he is in debt ! Odd lol
I would only help my own birth children and grandchildren and husband finacially if i was/am able too and they needed help. I already do when needed.
However i wouldn't help any other relatives finacially although i would and often do help them in practical ways, those include my parents and step child (it would be my husbands role to help her not mine).
If i had more money then i probably would help them but as im skint most the time anyway it's not possible.
I have already used a huge amount of my own money to keep my husbands ex and child in their house ... i did it because i thought i would get my money back but sadly thats not happened yet and probably never will sad i should have left them to the state to sort them out !
I can't see the government being able to force this to happen and although i am sure many families do help each other out there will always be plenty that don't now and never will !
Thank you smile
I could do it, in fact for most of my life i have .... and i am in full time work with no benefits lol

What is the £53 for ? Is it just for food or all bills ?
I am presuming this has been in the news recently but i havn't seen much news for a while so must hve missed it !

Here you are.

I don't see anywhere in that link that tells me what the £53 is for though sad
I have no knowledge of what benefits there are hence my question.

Hi folks .
Im fat but can still easily fit in an airline seat with no trouble so why should i pay more as the airline have already put their profit margin on the price of my ticket.
If i was so fat i needed two seats then they would have their profit margin x2

I do not mean to be rude in anyway, but when you say fat, what does that mean exactly?
People's interpretation of that word varies enormously. Obesity is a huge problem ( pardon the pun ) for airlines as they charge an excess for baggage that goes over a persons allowance by a couple of kilos, so if a 24 stone man boarded a plane, that is a bit more than a couple of kilos over the average mans body weight, and yet would pay the same price for his ticket as me.
You say fit into an airline seat with no trouble, but that then surely means you are not fat. Those seats are pretty small at the best of times and to be fat I would have said that part of your body would have infringed on the seat either side of you, and so that passenger. If you do not do that in any way, then I would not have you down as fat.
I easily fit into a airline seat with space to spare either side of me on my seat but i am classed as fat, bordering on obese according to the charts at the doctors surgery !

Do you really think ?
Didn't that attitude disappear when they stopped making Carry On films and Ealing Comedies?

No, not all. It is alive and well!
You'd be amazed at the number of Brits that arrive here in France and complain that they can't get decent bacon and spend most of their time slagging the French off!
You think they'd stay at home if they hated the French that much loon
Last time we went sailing on the Med off the coast of Spain, most of the ports we visited had Brit run resto's offering all day greasy breakfasts :rude:
Yummy smile
It's odd it didn't work as there were often people in the Pool who kept going on about how they miss the mids room !
At least it should stop that whinge now anyway lol
Is she old ? Flower says she's disabled but i don't see it mentioned that she's old ?
I could have missed it in further posts though.
Personally i don't think she should have to get rid of the dogs but i do think she should either pay for the spare room or move.
Her plight is no different to many others and i feel her plight is better than mine for example .... i am disabled and so is she .... i work fulltime, get no finacial help from anyone or anywhere and only earn minimum wage which isn't much at all ..... i cut my cloth to suit my earnings (i don't have a spare room as i can't afford a bigger property) so i don't see why others shouldn't too !
She has the choice on how to sort out her finances same as all of us.
This country is in trouble finacially and some how we have to get it sorted out and if this helps then so be it !
The trouble is that some of us are also disabled and poor (i am disabled and earn just above minimum wage) but we get no help at all but then see our taxes go to help others who have a bigger property and have enough money to suport pets aswell .... !
It is a difficult problem however i only earn just abve minimum wage, i get no finacial help from anyone or anywhere. I live in a house that i can only just afford and i dont have a spare bedroom, i can't afford to support 1 dog let alone 2 dogs.
So to be honest it does seem unfair that my taxes are going to help support people who can afford more than i can !
If she wants the spare bedroom then she should pay for it same as i would have to. It's her choice about the dogs and as she already has them then i presume she has already made some choices on how to budget her money.
Not everyone who is rich is as selfish as that.
Of course being "rich" has different meanings for different people.

So basically star, you haven't got a fucking clue what you are talking about, have you.

You really are a nasty rude man. I was always taught to respect my elders, but certainly not in your case.
No wonder the youngsters of today have zero respect for our pensioners.rolleyes
I agree
It's a shame there isn't the choice to vote "i have no idea how the budget has affected me" becuase thats the one i would tick as i havn't heard anything about the budget and have no idea what's happened !
Edited my post because i have done the quick calulator on the BBC news website and according to that i will be better off smile so i have voted accordingly :)

What is it with you lot ? Snip snip at each other, for goodness sake dont you have anything else to do in life but have a go at each other ?
So boring and so sad !!

It keeps the forums alive...
Use it or lose it.
It doesn't though, there are very few who post here and i can see why lol.
I would be happy to lose it if this drivel is all the we get.
If you are that happy to lose it, why read it?
I rarely read it these days but i popped in while waiting for the paint to dry !

After many years of trying different ways to get a smooth shave and no after shave rash on my bits i now always do the following .... i use Wilkinsons lady shavers, i cant rember the exact name of them but there are 4 in a pack and they have either 3 or 4 blades on each shaver. I use Tescos mens shaving foam, not the value one but the one above it in price range. I run a bath and while its running i shave my bits first with an old shaver thats been used for approx a week, then rinse off and then shave again with a new shaver, then i have a hot bath, dab myself dry then hubby checks me for any bits i might have missed and uses my electric lady shaver to finish off any i have missed smile
It sounds like a very long time consuming task but in actual fact it takes hardly any time at all unless hubby gets distraced while doing his part of it lol
No rash ever now, lovely smooth skin and only occasioanlly do i manage to nick myself .... ouch sad

Thing this one has got twisted and confusing, people have said that budget/cheap processed food is to blame not least through long supply chains to get them onto the shcelves usually as own brand produce, I have said I do NOT consider Findus to be budget/cheap products.
I said it was the fault of the supermarkets not the consumer in answer to the allegation that is is the consumers fault that prices have been driven down, when I believe that those who have to buy budget products through circumstance are still in that position whilst supermarkets who are often the ones pushing farmers for the cheaper products are still making huge profits.

The only circumstance that makes people buy budget processed food is laziness.
It would be far cheaper to buy the ingredients and make your own. One would also have the advantage of knowing what you are buying.
Hi Flower, so nice to know that you say i am lazy smile
Just spend some time in my life then maybe you would alter your opinion !
I work full time in a very physical job, i am also disabled and in extreme pain and am waiting for an operation to (hopefully) sort out the injuries that cause the disabilty and pain.
I have a family to feed.
I earn slightly above minimun wage.
My husband works extremly long hours to suport his daughter and ex wife and the house they live in and is also paying off his ex wifes huge debts so his wage is gone on paying that plus his share of our mortgage. When he is home he does as much housework as possible to make sure that i dont have very much to do because of my pain. He then doesnt have time or money to go shopping to buy the ingrediants to cook from scratch. He is usualy exhausted and sleeps ready to get up early the next day to start over again.
Soon i will be without full wages while i have an operation.
Sometimes we do buy cheap ready meals because i/we am tired, and i am in extreme pain that even an opiate doesn't help, therefore i am unable to stand and cook from scratch, i am also unable to afford the more expensive ready meals so i am stuck with life as it is, but i a NOT lazy so dont judge everyone so quickly !
Lazy ? No i don't think so !!!! Upset ? Yes very upset that someone makes such a judgement without thinking about how others are forced to live though circumstances out of their control.
Yes i like watching 2 men together, only if one is my husband thou, not so bothered to watch other guys !
I am educated on how to cook and i dont often buy ready meals but i do buy beef mince and make chilli and spag bol etc and i am now worried that it might not be beef, i buy it from a supermmarket becuuse i earn minimum wage and cant afford the price my village butchers charges and to be honest i dont trust him any more than anyone else.
I can understand why people buy ready meals thou and i probably would buy them more if they did ones i like ... i, like many other mums, work fulltime and i am also disabled and in extreme pain so the last thing i want to do when i get home from work is cook from scratch and i would love to have the option of ready meals rather than the limited food i do eat (due to time, money and pain but not abiltiy).
Not everyone is able to buy from local butchers and especially ones they trust and some people dont have endless time to cook from scratch aswell as working fulltime and all the house hold stuff they have to do aswell.
Not everyone has the same lifestyle as all of you who are able to buy local meat and cook meals from scratch, dont be so critical, maybe you would like to live how others live for a while to see how they cope
In any case if i or anyone else buys something that is labelled as beef then thats what it should be, it doesnt matter if its a ready meal for a single mum with a full time job and 2 children or a wealthy couple buying lean beef mince to make their cottage pie from scratch.

Following a discussion with friends today, turns out that some people are happy to go to various types of events alone, but need to be with a friend to go to others.
Stuff I'm happy to do alone would be for instance, go see a band or a play, a football match or the pictures. I'd certainly want to go to a museum or picture gallery alone, then I could wander round at my own pace.
I could not go camping or holidaying on my own as I'd find that boring.
And I certainly would not go to a swingers club alone unless it was as part of a group meet.
Others feel the same way, or am I just different?
John

I am more than happy to go to cinema, football, live gigs alone and have done, i wouldnt go to see a play either alone or with someone ! I would go on holiday alone although not camping cus its not very disabled friendly and i prefer home comforts smile
I would and have happily gone to a swingers club alone, i dont like and now never do group meets at a club although i do enjoy going with my husband but i have also been alone. :)
It depends who you're married to i supose smile
My first marriage wasn't to good (apart from having 2 wonderful children from it) but my second is fantastic :)

Glad they have sorted who it is, and now a correct burial can be given.

I agree smile
I am also very pleased for my home town to have something of interest in the news :)

Our accountant is cheap and does the job well, i wouldn't be able to do it myself so i am more than happy to pay the small amount he asks for smile

A good accountant should be at least able to save enough from your tax bill to pay his fee....
He saves far more than that ! It's amazing what you can off set against your tax !
