ok i was a single fem (not any more) but while i was single i used a buddie/s to tell where i was going and who with giving extimated times i would be away ... also tho we used each other to 'bounce' ideas off as to who i/we were meeting and if they had any reservations as to whether it was a good idea to meet somoneone, and sometimes i have cancelled an arranged meet because my 'buddie' had a bad vibe against the person i was due to meet and i am a great believer to listen to instincs be my own or a good friend.
do not be upset that this person discussed meeting you with their buddie i am sure that they were only thinking of their own safey (allbeit unfounded that you were unsafe to meet) and that meeting you or not would not have gone any further than their buddie

Don't you think I should have been told before arranging to meet that he had a buddy who he would have to get agreement off first though?
Safety? I think it was more about her not wanting him to meet another woman full stop. I would not have arranged to meet a guy that was beholding to another woman, simple as.

Recently I got talking to a lovely single guy who I was really looking forward to meeting.
Then out of the blue he told me that he had previously played with someone else and they agreed to buddy up and tell each other of any other meets.
Apparently when he told her of our pending meet she was not happy and he called it off.
I have had time to think about this and actually feel quite annoyed that he didn't tell me of this agreement before offering to meet me, or at least talk to her before offering. I don't like the fact that I didn't know he had a buddy or that I was going to be topic of conversation and most of all that a 3rd person could decide if I was ok to be met or not.
Is this a typical situation and what are your feelings on this? Has it ever happened to you?

It sounds more like a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship to me than just "buddies." In that situation, or when playing with one half of any couple , I'd expect their OH to have a right to veto.
I do think he should have made it clear to you first though. confused
I think this is where I am a little annoyed. I usually meet single guys as there are no ties and if we get on it means we can meet when ever we like. It totally changes the dynamics and what I thought the situation was.
Being the 'romantic swinger type' I prefer not to know about my future victims history of swinging. I also would class myself as a fairly private person sexually and would rather not discuss previous meets with people, although sometimes I don't mind talking about experiences, especially if they do relate to a potential meet.
I think it is better to say nothing because quite frankly why do people need to know?

I would luvvvv to meet someone who lived in the same town who could accomodate. That actually would be my ideal. The place is big enough to still be discrete and as I've not really been out much in the last 8 years not many people know me.
I did have a buddy for a short time in the same district as me. No one new me in the flat he lived at and it was great escapism. Unfortunately he fell in love with someone he met before me and we called it a day as it was developing into a relationship.
Distance is difficult being a single Mum as my childs Dad is not in the same Country and my Mum is a pensioner so not fair to keep asking her. Now he is a bit older and it is legal for me to leave him on his own I will do up to 30 miles if I can afford the fuel. Any further and I worry.

We should conduct an experiment. In your 10 days of freedom, i'll pop round and walk in carrying a toolbox, then the neighbours will think i've come round to give you a service or fiddle with your plumbing rotflmao
Their bedroom is next to mine and I'm a tad noisy...

i'll make sure i've packed a gag in my toolbox
Go on then, you have twisted my arm. Let's do it and see what happens hehe

Both my neighbours know my Mum and talk to her. My one neighbour has a daughter who was in my year at school and they have complained about the noise 3 times and talked to my mum about me being up all night.
In some areas the stereo typical 'curtains twitching' thing still happens and I was born and bred here, so people do talk.

 Nosy gits! If they complain, tell them to sod off - it' none of their business and they're probably just envious. Buy them some ear plugs lol
As for talking to your mum about your being up all night, I think that's appalling confused If you know that from your mum, next time she says anything, make up some story about what they have been doing (eg she's shagging the milkman). If mum goes back and tells them, of course they'll deny it, but they'll still be embarrassed about it. Might even mention it to you - in which case, tell them that they have no right talking to your mum about your private life.
Hmmm... I like that idea FB.
I might even tidy the house and make it presentable 'just incase' I do decide to entertain. It's quite an exciting prospect as I might actually be able to use my child free time instead of have to apologise for not being able to travel or afford to do stuff.
Not sure the milkman idea would work as we don't have one, but the postman!!!! hehe

wave Ninja teacher reporting for duty, Venus lol
And I don't like Jaffa cakes confused - chocolate fingers for me please, or chocolate Hobnobs smile
Steve smackbottom smackbottom

lol FB how are you going to teach about the cycles of the moon with a chocolate finger? haha
I'll have the jaffa cakes then and the hobnobs for you, although I nearly died on a hobnob during nbc training, so do be careful.

No I don't mean do you accomodate your neighbours.
This one is more for the singlies amongst us really as I think a couple having people over doesn't make the neigbhours bat an eyelid, but when you're single I think it looks a lot different.
Are there any singles out there (men or women) who have kids that do accomodate?
Unfortunately my child is a young teenager now, so getting him to stay with his gran is getting harder and harder as he doesn't think he needs to, but... When he is out the house it would be lovely to use my home (after all it is my home!) but I worry about the twitching curtains and the neighbours talking and possibly saying something to my son.
Does anyone else in a similar position to myself accomodate and how do you get round it? Do you neighbours ever mention it? Do your get knowing looks? Or are the neighbours typically British and not saying anything?
I've got 10 child free days coming up so what you say might actually change my actions.

i think your worrying for nothing...the sign of the times is no ones cares what the neighbours are doing anymore, long gone have the days of litlle old ladies standing on the doorstep gossiping about what the single mum is up!

As a single Dad, I have my daughter 50% of the time.
Means I get a two free weeks a month lol
Most of the people I know are just jealous wink
None of my neighbours appear to disapprove of people staying over, although my next door neighbour in the house attached to mine did ask me to move the headboard away from the wall redface redface
Apparently his wife was moaning at him cos she wasn`t getting it that good !!! :giggle:

Ahhh yess ummm... this brings me on to a point. In the 6 years I've been here I've had guys round maybe a handful of times and the neighbours have complained 3 times. There bedroom is next to mine and I'm a tad noisy. The last few times I made sure we played down stairs in the lounge (no complaints). Not sure that is a long term solution though.

TED days are nothing to do with teaching really. They really involve SAS training so that the teachers are prepared how to handle the horrible children who think they can walk out or disrupt the class.
They also have 'gymnastic' training so they can vault across the room at double speed to stop Joey from hitting Johhny in a flash.
They have training on how to get the truth out of naughty children who won't snitch on their mate without using chinese torture.
All these things are vital to keeping the harmony in a class room and allowing the more innocent children to reach their full potential.
See... you didn't know your local unassuming teacher was so highly trained and skilled.
One thing that is missing though. I do think they should have a regular supply of jaffa cakes bought for them, so they can teach about the cycle of the moon properly. Schools in some areas of so under resourced. How is a teacher to do this without jaffa cakes??? I ask you!!!!!
I don't know if I am the only female to think this either, although may be in the minority with the 'straight' label again, but... I have actively looked for bi guys in the past, because being a tad greedy and enjoying playing with multiple men occassionally I can see myself buddying up with a bi guy much more comfortably than one who craves to have FFM all the time. I would also feel less guilty as it doesn't seem fair that I may happily enjoy MMF as many times as can possibly have it and begrudge my buddy the FFM because it does nothing for me.
So... the cautious men that are not putting bi curious or bi on their profiles could be possibly missing out on an ideal partnership.
As I said before, I'm not homophobic and as long as I'm being kept busy I'm not going to get upset if two of the guys are playing with each other, in fact it brings another element to the front, as you can discuss who u fancy together or who you would like to play with and share the desire.
I don't know, maybe I'm wrong?
Thank goodness I made time to have one before getting up for work yesterday, otherwise I would have missed out too. It must have been the hand of fate that willed me over to my toys lol.
Edit*
I did it again this morning, just incase I got the dates wrong biggrin
Most people do not read my profile. I have had rather a lot of couples ask to meet me, cutnpastes from couples telling me how bi their lady is and how much she would enjoy playing with me and single women asking to play with me and men asking to buddy up with a sexy bi lady.
I just write back, saying "sounds great, I hope you have fun finding her" or something like that.
I also get guys emailing me saying hi to us 'both' and would we like to meet up with a guy to spice up our fun.
I then turn round and say, "I know I'm big, but both of us?"
I've even been asked what I'm doing here if I'm not bi and I was a bit odd. The truth is... I like sex!!!! Omg!!! how awful is that???? I also like meeting new people and variety, but nope I'm not bi.
I also have no concerns with bi peeps by the way, although I couldn't eat a whole one! Seriously I can't help the way I was made and why should I change that any more than a bi person should try and be straight?
I wouldn't swing with me, I'm too fat lol. I have a really weird brain that is attracted to people for the oddest reasons. I have said no to some guys that say they have never been told no before and I have said yes to men that tell me they never thought they had a chance.
For me part of it is to do with the brain. If I don't feel at ease and comfortable with the person, then it isn't going to happen and in the same vain, if I don't feel the chemistry it isn't going to happen, it's almost impossible to know what makes that right combination though.
It's those supply teachers I feel sorry for. 6 to 8 weeks of no income can't be easy, especially with the economic crisis, which means there is much less casual work going about.
I don't know many teachers that aren't having to take on 2nd jobs, like home tuition and marking SATs papers.
My bro lives with a teacher and she reckons she does 52 hours minimum a week during term time, so it's not exactly a cushy job.

Venus,if we can prove this, perhaps we can get sex on the NHS. Just like our local doctor and fitness centre is doing, three months free work outs.

I'll start doing research straight away!!! lol
I've had a really stressful year and I have to admit I have gone to chams purely with the idea to unwind and destress a bit. I find sex does do that for me and afterwards my smile has returned and I'm much more myself.
I've never ushered over random people off the street though lol.
They do reckon that people who have a regular sex life live longer, which is why I try my best to lol (not very good at getting it though). So maybe there is something in it.

I might add the cancelled swinger lol. Most of the meets I arrange seem to end up being cancelled! I think I must be uber scarey lol

Wow, you arrange meets?
lol even when I ask directly, 'fancy a shag?', people clearly think I'm joking.
Noooo I don't mean ones I have instigated, I mean ones that have been arranged and I have agreed to (soz) then something more exciting turns up like... Rugby or something and they cancel on me.

I know what you mean Mrs Bone, there are folks on here who I kinda afford an almost 'legend' like status and I think no way would they be interested in me... but, seeing just how many people have mentioned in their responses to this thread that they lack confidence or don't make the first approach, I'm reckoning that I may just chance my luck with a few of those 'legends'... who knows!! :rascal:
Could be my summer adventure! :giggle:
Nola x

Oooooooo can I be a legend just once then? Can I? Can I? :rascal:
Green Light, Green Light, Green Light!!!!
Cooo I'm really enjoying reading the responses. It's so interesting to see that so many of us don't notice that green light. I wonder if there is a way round that?
Quote by Srne
I think during our 3 years here we have been most of the above.
These days we are mostly in "The Social Swingers" category, and it's me (Mr Srne) that comes on the site, usually for the Forum. Not sure if that makes us "The Reluctant Couple" but I think myself and miss srne just have different ideas about how often we would like to swing rather than that one or either of us is only doing it for the other.
Good post though. smile

Ahh how about, The out of synch swinging couple? They both enjoy aspects of the lifestyle still, but rarely both at the same time.
What do you think?
Quote by Freckledbird
We're crap swingers - never sure when anyone is interested so don't make any suggestions - then take ages to get around to sex because we don't want to be pushy rolleyes redface

Oh that sounds like me when I want to buy something. Would that come under the 'Indecisive swinger?' Possibly missing out on opportunist as they can't make their mind up?
Or...
'The non-pushy swinger' Often making good friends, but not able to notice the green light, so rarely getting past amber? Would play more if they were approached more directly.
I've noticed over the years that there are very different types of swingers.
Here are some of the types that I have noticed.
The reluctant couple - One of them is very keen, but the other one is doing it for their partner and a little reticent.
Number cruncher - They are the real prowlers who systematically go through as many partners as they can, rarely looking back unless they get a quiet moment and then they'll start working through again.
Opportunist - Always eager to get involved but lacking the courage to instigate, so they wait for a good opportunity and take advantage of it.
Romantic - They want to make friends, be desired and each encounter is treated like a little romance.
Slutty sex God/Goddess - They're often already in a happy loving relationship and use swinging to get rid of their excess sexual energy. They really are looking for good hard sex and fun.
Social swinger - They spend most of their time socialising and aren't really fussed about the sexual side, although when the chemistry is there they will play.
Greedy cum lover - Mostly for the ladies, they love oral cock play and having cum all over them more than penetrative sex and being the centre of attention.
Indecisive swinger - Possibly missing out on opportunist as they can't make their mind up?
The non-pushy swinger - Often making good friends, but not able to notice the green light, so rarely getting past amber? Would play more if they were approached more directly.
Timewaster - Has lots of enthusiasm, usually has a cam and always ready to meet, but never follows through.
The No Show - Usually wants to meet at short notice, will not show you a picture of their face due to work, but expects to meet saying you won't be disappointed. Dodgy!
Popular Single Guy - This person has been to a few parties, goes in the chat room and possibly forum and is well known amongst the regulars as being well behaved and a safe bet. He knows his manners, understands boundaries and can have a conversation as well as enjoy playing when asked.
Fake pic swingers - These people either use pics years out of date or someone elses and pose as this person in order to get a meet. They hope that on meeting the person will feel obligated to go through with it.
Scared Swinger - Reasonably new to the seen, has lots of dreams and fantasies, but doesn't know where or how to start, let alone approach people.
Seasoned Swinger - Has been around for several years, is known by most people and lots of experience. When they go to a club the staff know them well and there is usually a story or two to be told. These are people that get name dropped in conversation and you either really want to meet or you're scared stiff by them or even both!
Swinging Enigma - For those who are way too skittish to be pinned down!
I'm sure there are lots more that you may like to add or edit in this list. Which category do you fit into and have you met anyone from any other category?
Do you identify with any of them or more than one depending on your mood?
I think I fantasized about 3 men before I lost my virginity, so all distinctive to me in my various stages of sexual maturity.
The first was Johns Travolta while in Grease (I loved those dimples)
2nd would be Lenny Henry (Did he have dimples too?)
And I have to admit I think David Bowie features somewhere in there for me too, especially in the Labyrinth.
I believe there are already 2 predominantly black groups in the Midlands that already formed. Nothing new about it here I'm afraid. A bit like re-inventing the wheel from where I'm standing. lol
I am still yet to find a predominantly white group of the type though, which might be a new angle.
