Gary had been seeing his wife's friend for a few months,  but she was becoming demanding, wanting more and more of his time and asking how much he loved her.

Gary's response was to suggest they stop seeing each other. 

Stella had other ideas and told his wife.

Emma was waiting for him when he got home. “How could you fuck her of all people.”

Gary knew just what had happened, Stella was getting revenge for being dropped or was hoping he would be forced into her arms. “She means nothing, she threw herself at me and I  fucked her.”

“You didn't have to. Why her?”

“Like I said..”

Emma cut him short. “You didn't have to, get out, I don't want to see you.”

Gary decided it was best to go and gave Eva a call from his car. It was the first time he had asked to see her so late and she knew something had happened. 

“What's wrong?” Eva asked as he opened the door in her dressing gown. 

Gary explained with a single word that made no sense to Eva. “Stella”

Gary took Eva's hand and led her to the bedroom. Eva had not known Gary like this but allowed him to push her on to the bed.

He lacked the tenderness that he normally had and he lacked the foreplay that made him her best lover. He even lacked the condom that ther both insisted on.

That evening Gary and Eva made love. It was after dinner. 

Gary put condoms on the side of the bed. Nothing was said about the lack of condoms the night before. 

They kissed, ran hands over each other and Gary fingered her.

“You are wonderful.” Eva confirmed.

A little more effort and she came. Only then did Gary pull a condom on and they made love.

Gary was laying his head on Eva's breast. Eva was holding him.

“I think it would have been better if it was a stranger.” Gary suggested. 

“You can have all my friends, mother and sisters.” Then Eva backtracked. “If they ask.”

“Don't worry.” Gary assured her.

The following week when it was clear Emma wanted a divorce Eva asked to stop using condoms. Gary had effectively moved in. Stella had tried calling Gary several times, but he blocked her.

At work Emma and Stella were kept separated as much as possible. Stella eventually left.
