Sorry and all that, but from where I am currently sitting the rain is p........g down, when I get up in the morning it is dark, and the nights are drawing in. Leaves will soon start to fall, the central heating will go on and Tescos' will be displaying Christmas Decorations. Oh God, winter must be nearly upon us.
SO - Suggestions please : All you bright, imaginative, creative bold people - what can we do with the longer, colder winter evenings and nights? Tell me your wackiest, sexiest, silliest suggestions. Would say the best one gets a prize, but then I would be lying. The best one gets giggled over though.
I have some ideas, but I want to see what other people come up with. Oh, and by the way - any suggestions involving beasts of burden, vegetables or public humiliation will be ignored.... although the vegetable thing sounds promising....
its amazing....just today been to Tesco's and they just put christmas section boxes up on the shelves....not even half way throu September yet !!!
Dark winter nights normally mean I start cooking really nice comfort foods like hot pots and stews and that means getting warm and snuggly in the house. I come over all motherly and tend to feed my guests and ply them with drink, and make sure they are all wrapped up warm before they leave. .. other than that, I still go out and get too drunk, just get a bit colder when trying to flag a taxi down, but then up in Newcastle we always go out without a coat when on the drink so we are used to it.
Winter
Too Feckin Dark
Too Feckin Cold
and i really feckin hate xmas :taz:
Autumn is pretty wet down here and Winter doesn't get proper cold.
Damn that Gulf Stream!!
I love winter, can't wait for it. I find hot humid weather extremely unpleasant and there's no escape from it. In winter if you're cold you turn on the heater or exercise or shag or wrap up in woolies... in summer, once you're sitting naked in front of the open freezer, that's it mate, you aint getting any cooler.
I love late autumn/early winter all the halloween parties and christmas but after that its a long cold and dark time and I suffer from SAD .. so its not nice at all. Once we get to March and the light is getting better I feel better too.
DD
Well i dont know about winter coming
Here in North London is bright and Sunny, clear sky and in sitting in my
shorts as its so hot
Its just grey and a bit dull here but i think the sun is trying to get through
you can either buy these light boxes or maybe get something through the docs but the emit a certain colour light the replicates daylight exactly.. you sit in front of these light boxes for a bit each day and it counteracts, or at least reduces the effects of S.A.D.
