An American werewolf in London is coming to the big screen..
As is..
Citizen Kane..
I love both of these movies how lucky i feel to have two such great(in my opinion,before im slaughtered by the egos for daring to suggest anything is great before checking with them)films in cinemas near me in the same week.....
If you could have two, which films would you pick..?

My two choices would be
Grease.. as my daughter is alomost my age when I first saw that, so would like to take her to see it on big screen
2nd choice
Shawshank redemption.. as it was a complete flop on the big screen the first time around, and such a great film, one of my all time favourites.

Sometimes less is more, in my opinion, you don't need all the special affects to make a film good.

it was set in a prison based film how do you make that cinematic??it was also entirley character based and concentrated entirly on the story without trying anything flash...everyone who has ever tried making a stephen king film should take note that that is how they should be approached,that said stand by me is a far better film
back to the question though for the big screen it would be a complete uncut version of bladerunner(the one that has never been released) and errrm yeah debbie does dallas smile

OMG! You're the only other person I know who's ever heard of this film! :shock: I scoured the shops to finally get it on dvd a few years ago and I never tire of watching it!
I'd like to see Touching The Void and Glory - two films with the most amazing photography that deserves to be seen on a screen bigger even than my 42" biggrin

One of the most influential movies of the time....The Exorcist.
Even though it seems reasonably quite tame now, back in the 70's it was such a horror film, and I must have seen it countless times now and it is still a brilliant film.
Also one of Patrick Swayzee's films....Roadhouse. That had everything. The girls, the violence, and he was brilliant in it.

what a brilliant choice i love all of them.
My choices would be anything with Tom Hanks in or directed by him.
Ultimate favorite is Forest Gump i now know the whole dialogue of that
"And thats all i have to say about that !"
the worst film ever is Matrix coz i cant understand it and have fell asleep twice trying to watch it!!!!

I'd love to watch Purple Rain on the big screen - *swoons* at the thought of a ginormous Prince! I'd like to watch it in a really super-duper sound system screen too. Aaahhhh, bliss!
Before brucie-the-forum-Scorcese quibbles about lack of cinematic qualities, I would also like to see lots of poncey filmy films too... having also studied Film. cool

But if I was going to hire a cinema for the day, it'd be Purple Rain followed by The Godfather Trilogy. Sod cinematic qualities... it's sometimes about loving the film!

I can see why people like Green Mile & Shawshank, Darabont is very good at tugging at the heart strings via the innocently wronged man.
I blub like a baby at the end of the Green Mile but I prefer to do that at home as otherwise it makes my popcorn salty.
For epic scope how about all six remastered Star Wars films in an arse numbing day of Vaderness?

Pricilla Queen of the dessert for my first choice
then i'm torn between
Forrest gump and Green Mile both fabulous films that get all my emotions working overtime and give me goosebumps so just can't choose between them
