..........this really is quite unprofessional (sp dunno

) I like what they have done with and for the site and can appriciate the problems that come with the server swop so I really don't mind the down time then. But it seems to be one error code after another with little or no explination. I know we can't always get things right.........in the past I've rebuilt engines only for them to go tits up months later redface

and to be honest as a non paying member I can't really gripe when a free site goes down on me, but non the less I do think its bad form to keep people in the dark.............is this gonna be a regular thing, whats the problem, can it be solved easily? all these things some of us would like to know.
I'm not knocking admin as I've shared banter with em in the past and do enjoy that and them being around, but non the less they must understand that constant fook ups without explination will cause frustraition in even the biggest of arse kissers lol

So all I ask is prehaps that we arn't kept in the dark as much biggrin

having done a bit of sql stuff recently, i have to say that it is a reet pain in the botox :kissmyarse: and can only be compared with a surprise strapon :shock:
also take into account that the www is experiencing the biggest "net-split" since it was conceived, (anyone noticed their msm doing funny stuff?" and you have to cut a bit of slack here.
I do take the shedsters point that being kept in the dark seems a bit Non-user-friendly, but you are assuming that admin actually know what the problem is.
many high profile (non swing) sites have been perplexed over the last couple of weeks, so lets not be too hasty here.
I have been as annoyed as anyone (especially as i find myself with an empty house all week rolleyes

) and yes, its bloody frustrating :taz:
but lets just wait and see what is really going on before we jump off at the deep end

We had to roll back to the old server rack after the problems last week and it should have worked pretty much the same as it did before any of the move attempts, however there's been intermitent problems with services dropping out that Started on Saturday so far as I can tell and until I get back into the office in the Morning won't be able to talk through options with the others, at this point in time we are looking to get the servers back to exactly the same configuration as before last weeks changes, tonight M/Cluster fell over and had to be restarted, hence the downtime at 21:00ish.

To be honest I think admin are just as much in the dark as we all are, fixing one thing will often show up another thing that needs a fix, fix that and another will show up.
Getting some info would be good, but we would all be a lot pissier if we were told all done by Friday..er no Sunday…make that second thoughts Thursday next weeks etc. If we don’t expect a final time, we can’t be disappointed when we get an overrun.

Although I do understand that the site occasionally wii expereince problems there just seem to have been too many lately. As you said sheddy as a non paying member perhaps you dont have the right to complain ... however as a paying member I must say that I'm getting a touch frustrated with it. I know admin are doing their best to fix it but perhaps a suspension of payments until it is sorted wud be a good will gesture????????

thank you sheddy for that. I never suggested that I have more rights than others and I dont expect to be insulted by some idiot who cant even spell explanation. I said that as a paying member I dont see why we should pay for a sub standard service. Insults are unnecesary and dilute your arguements.
