Its got quite a sweetish flavour, was was decribed once as alcoholic vimto. Be warned you can get very pissed on this stuff :giggle:

its widely available in most supermarkets and specialists, do you have a threshers near you?
i have recently acquired a taste for pink fizzy stuff
there is one in asda, australian and its something like yellowfin cos it reminded me of tuna, the name obviously not the taste lol
Earthy xx
Not tried the red stuff, but I too like the pink variety - anyone tried Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque? It's hideously expensive but yum yum!

theres only one pink fizzy and that Laurent Perrier rose, trouble is its not cheap.
i have heard of yellowfin cant remember who makes it but dont think its bottle fermented but then again you have pay for that.
theres some really good stuff out there these days but its starting to get run by big brands again, which is making it harder for individual vineyards

Pink Belle Epoque now thats some thing you dont see very often, if you want to go to the top of the tree try Louis Roederer Crystal rose they dont make much of it and has a bit of a rich playboy tag.
The white is very delicate and so yummy i have had it a couple of times and i have a bottle 1990 in my rack which was looking for the right moment to be opened.

Other than that I've just felt heartburn as soon as I read this, I'm much more of a medium dry lady lol
i dont do the " wine" thing but i was invited round to a lady's house for a night in the other week . she asked me to bring a bottle of wine ," what do you like" i asked " rose " she repliyed . so i go to the offie and pic up what i thought looked like a nice bottle.
OMG it tasted like viniger
so i had to go get another one " jacobs creek " that went down well and a very nice wine i must say wink
From the Loire Valley, and as such cannot be called champagne, however it is produced in exactly the same way. It does not attract the same high "Brand" pricing and yet the taste is sublime.
If you enjoy the buttery taste of a decent vintage Champers then I can heartily recommend trying a Cremant from Langlois-Chateau. They do this in a Rose as well

For a different experience try a bottle of their red, yes I did say RED cremant, a delicious wine with a hint of strawberries and cream. A great way to toast the summer.
I shall be making my annual pilgrimage next month and the RR will be well stocked on my return.

Cremant is great stuff i used to drink Cremant de limoux (i thinks thats its name) but you try and find any more, (apart from source as you do )only proprer specialists have it now as it has been pushed out by major brands.
Pink drink is the best!
Being proper poor at the moment, I have been conducting a survey of the more budget versions of pink drink.
Current favourite is the most excellently named Pink Fizz from those lovely Morrison's people.
Am liking the thought of a red fizz option although I have a bad habit of spilling red wine over myself and anyone unlucky enough to be in the same room as me.
Am a fan of the odd glass or three of the old rose myself - but must admit was recently bought a bottle of Wolfblass red and really enjoyed...
... maybe getting more sophisticated in my old age (or maybe just appreciating stuff that was free!?!)

thats the start of it once you get the taste of something a bit better, encourages you to try something else, and suddenley before you know you go back to your old stuff and say, "did i really used to enjoy this"
Wolfblass is good stuff and depending on what you had either the red or yellow label will depend on the grape variety which will determine what style of wine to choose next. They do have some black label varieties but doubt if it was them.
enjoy drinkies

It was the yellow label. I also like their white wines, have had them a lot, just never tried the red.

ok well you need to look out for Cabernet Sauvignon wines then.
slighty softer will be Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot blended wines
a bit spicyer will be Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend
the first grape listed is generally the predominate grape
going out now see ya tomorrow folks.

I am just going out for a pack of 12.
I must say there are some nice wine from the new world. I also like Black Island form Chile, a very nice set of wines.

Champagne gets you pissed quickly as well. Why is it that bubbly does that?
My favourite red at the mo' is Jacob's Creek Grenache Shiraz - can't seem to stomach Cabernet Sauvignon. The Grenache Shiraz seems to me to be good value for the price.
I haven't drunk Rosé for years but recently a lovely lady here introduced me to the Galleos' White Grenache. It's very sweet and can be drunk like an alco-pop - it's lovely - good fer drizzling down someone's throat.

oooh I know someone who loves this stuff and we purchase a couple of bottles whenever theres any excuse for a celebration, appart from the usual, it does produce some very pleasing side effects in her wink
Being a total wine ‘numpty’ my experience of wine is limited to say the least, it’s in no way my favourite tipple but occasionally I come across one that pleases my pallet.
Recently I have found that most wines from the White Grenache stable are very drinkable, particularly the reds  I know it’s a contradiction but I think White Grenache is to do with the grape, rather than the colour of the wine.
Ernest and Julio White Grenache I find rather nice, especially with pasta or red meat.
Almaden White Grenache Rose is rather nice, not too heavy but delivers a little kick that lets you know its there.
If you prefer white wine then I can recommend Sierra Valley. For a Californian wine its very good.
There are a couple of grape blends that work quite well, one of which I found particularly good was White Grenache with a light Shiraz such as the Australian John Duval range.
Well that’s about all I know, my apologies to the purists who will probably be cringing uncontrollably whilst reading this, but hey ho, each to their own.

Hmm I tend to agree with you on that one, a bottle is OK, but a bottle and a half / two bottles gives me a mother of a head the next day which lasts all day!

Something you might like to try is a white grape called "viognier" not sure what sort of wine companies you have there but if you have problems send me a pm of where you are and i can look for more specific wines.

i will have to be careful with what i say in a public forum about what i believe on certain wine companies.
personally i find some names here mentioned as over priced vinegar, but then i have tasted over a 1000 plus different wines. The main thing about wine is drinking it because you ENJOY it, and not because someone else likes it personnaly or through marketing suggested you drink it.
I have a lot of fun looking at new bottles and trying them, and thats where you find the differences. You may not want to find new wines and just stick to what you know, as you say each to there own
Grenache is a RED grape, but the juice of all grapes is white. The colour comes from the skin, for red wines the juice is kept in contact with the skin and thats why people say red wine is better for you than white because of the chemicals (natural ones)in the skin. White grenache is the Rose(pink) version same grape but the juice has much less time contact with the skin to impart the colour.
if im boring you guys with this, then tell me to shut up as i do ramble on this subject at times.
No. Ramble more, please.
I like being educated.

Aaaah, does that count for all "fizzy" alco drinks ie., cider etc (not that I drink it) my friend regularly drinks Magners and is always p*ssed!
