This is the first weekend in a long time that I have no plans for the weekend (apart from work on Saturday afternoon) and my beloved will be at home in Notts. This is also my last weekend before starting back at uni (the calm before the storm), and have no idea what to do with my spare time confused I am so used to juggling my life that when the balls have been caught, wtf do I do now?
So:-
1. Any suggestions?
2. What is everyone else up to?

id like to say that before we formulated the theory we did discuss the "embarrasment "issue.
confidence is a thing that affects us all......... even the ballsiest of us have the jitters sometimes.
if you play it through in your mind..... and the other person said "no"....
whats the worst the other person could think???...... (give or take a few harsh put-downs-which really dont mean jack shit anyway...)????
"so and so asked me to play"..........
it aint sooooo bad is it......?????

My motto is "if you don't ask, you don't get" but flirting with peeps is one thing but getting straight to the point is another. The fear of rejection would definately stop me from asking those direct questions.

I previously liked black russians, but after an unfortunate incident with a mini bus, a ruined expensive dress and the pavement, I definately won't be drinking that again!

I had to google it, so for those of us who didnt know..........
Cornelia Street Café in downtown New York. Five years later -- on Feb. 10, 2001 -- it's going to Madison Square Garden for an all star extravaganza featuring Calista Flockhart, Jane Fonda (making her return to stage), Melissa Ethridge, Oprah Winfrey and more. Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues is back -- with three new monologues, a new introduction, and dozens of heartbreaking testimonials from young women around the country who have performed the monologues at their local colleges as part of a nation-wide campaign to stop violence against women, VDay. What started as a play has become a national phenomenon, the bible for a new generation of women

Thanks for googling for the info kiss It saved me having to explain.

If you were wanting to try a new look, I personally would go to a Department store. I prefer Debenhams and always use Clinique makeup. The beauty consultants can try a variety of different colours/shades on you free of charge. I always ask them to show me how and where they have applied the makeup, so if I like what they have done, I can recreate it again.
Go for it Bernie, its your special day kiss

Seeing as it has been such a nice day (weather wise), it seems a good time to have a reflective moment back to the summer

This summer the thing I enjoyed the most was knowing that this is my last year of my degree.
This summer I managed to work part time and study a little of the time. :notes:
This summer I had a great time when I went to Bakewell biggrin
This summer I didn't have a holiday :violin:
My favourite drinks are vodka, martini and lemonade, medium white wine and stella & lime. Obviously not all together and definately not on the same night
I previously liked black russians, but after an unfortunate incident with a mini bus, a ruined expensive dress and the pavement, I definately won't be drinking that again!

I am thinking of going to the see the Vagina Monologue production at my local theatre and wondered has anyone else seen it?
Any reviews would be appreciated
The worst movie for me was "Hostel". I went to the cinema to watch it with my sister, whose turn it was to choose the film we watched. As she is a horror flick fan, I should of known better. Blood, guts and gore were an understatement and I walked out half way through because I was feeling nauseous.

I had my tooth extracted with conscious sedation at 1pm today, just thought I would give you all an update of how it went.
After sitting in the waiting room for over half an hour, seeing younger patients coming out crying, my brother in law had to practically sit on me so that I wouldn't bolt out of the door confused Eventually my name got called and I walked into the treatment room with trepidation. My dentist was very reassuring, gave me gas and air to relax me. The anaethatist placed the venflon in my hand, and that is the last thing I remember. I was then aware that I was in the recovery room and 15 minutes later, I was escorted home. The procedure had slight complications as the Dentist was unable to remove the tooth and had to ask another Dentist to assist him. They cut my gum open and removed as much of the tooth possible and consequently, I have stitches in my gum.
Apart from looking like a hamster with a swollen left cheek and nasty pain down the side of my face, I am so relieved it is over biggrin .
I would definately recommend conscious sedation to dental phobics like me.

Angelchat - ltns kiss , where have you been hiding?
Thank you so much Angelchat - there is certainly a lot of points in your post that are directly relevant to my life at the moment. I am a firm believer that dreams are a reflection of your unconscious pschye and those feelings that are repressed cannot be held down indefinately and will eventually out themselves in the only way they can, which is through our dreams.
Thanks again for unravelling my mystery. Hope to see you out and about soon

Over the course of the last couple of months I have been quite stressed with course work, exams and ex problems. Anyway ................... this has led me to have some really weird dreams, one of which I have deciphered myself, but another two I just can't work out. Any comments appreciated.
OK, so here goes ..............................
Dream 1
I am lying in bed with my partner at my mum's house (which haven't lived there since I was 19 y.o.) and it was a hot summers night. The big window was open to let some air in and I woke up in the night to the sound of rustling. I looked out of the bedroom window, which incidentally had no blinds or curtains, to see a tall, large man who appeared to be doing the gardening! In my dream I lay back down and closed my eyes. I then heard louder noises, so I then opened my eyes again to see the aforementioned man climbing through the bedroom window with a large knife in his hand. I then start screaming and shouting "Dave, Dave wake up", only to look across at him to see that it was my ex actually lying in the bed next to me  . At that point the man moved to my ex and slit his throat   , terror was running through me as I bolt out of the bedroom with my mobile phone in my hand, trying to call the police and get my children to safety. I woke up at that point and could not get back to sleep all night because I was scared!!!
Dream 2 - Which Is A Reoccuring Dream
I am standing in a public place, could be a supermarket, work, university and I faint/pass out and I am lying on the floor in a heap. I can hear people around me but I cannot move or talk. Eventually someone calls an ambulance and I get taken to hospital.
Help!!!
dream two might be ok,well at least if the ambulance dont ask you and dave for directions lol
rotflmao You know us so well :rotflmao:

Well I bought that Rescue Remedy and went off with my nerves in my throat this morning to see my new dentist. After squirting enough of the stuff under my tongue to put me over the drink-drive limit I was still a little nervous but not as much as I used to be.
Not sure if it was my dentist who actually put me at ease or the Rescue remedy so the jury's still out on that one.
Got a few more visits coming up so let's see how I feel next time I go.
Good luck with yours Alex kiss

Thank you Sassy-Seren for letting me know about the Rescue Remedy. I am off to the chemist tomorrow to buy some as well as picking up some Emla cream up from the Dentist's in ready for my appointment on Wednesday lunchtime. I am so so so scared  and so want to do this bolt

Certainly for me, I have only ever met one person who gave me that confidence and it wasn’t anything that was said, it wasn’t even actions – I have no idea exactly what it was, but I know when I was with that person I believed I could achieve anything.

I don't believe anyone can "give" you confidence. I personally believe that confidence, as well as happiness, comes from within. Maybe it was how that person made you feel about yourself inside. Affection and tenderness, to care and to be cared about, I think, can affect how we feel about ourselves inside, which will in turn effect our self esteem and confidence levels.

Ooohh Alex, I reckon this calls for a debate. And before you say it, no, I dont mean a poll type debate, I remember all to well your polls
biggrin :D :D :D
My last poll was successful in proposing an alternative paradigm to your theory. I hate to say that you were wrong but ..............................
YOU WERE WRONG!!! lol

Always makes me smile whenever men say they are X amount of inches, I always get images of them measuring themselves with one of those snappy back, pull out workman's tape measures and it doing welll what that kind of tapey does and uummm snapping back and owwwwww!!!

Is it just me, or have most men just grimaced and crossed their legs
Personally I use a slide rule, you never know if someone asks for total surface area it would be quicker to work it out rolleyes
That is if I can ever remember Pi redface
Are you talking about pythagoras' theorem?
Quote by Manolishi
squared!!! I have qualifications in surface area measurement, would you like me to check your calculations Manolishi? wink

redface surprisedops:
confused
Only if you use my slide rule - it's a special home made one. The numerals 1, 2, 3 and 4 have been replaced by 5, 6, 7 and 8 rolleyes
You cheat smackbottom
