As mentioned by a couple of others theres one main thing aside from the obvious (money, clothes, insurance etc etc)......
A camera - normal with silly amounts of film or digital with stupid amounts of space !
If the holiday is something a bit different or one you're not likely to repeat then it's a total must have. 14 films were used on my France, Switzerland and Italy jaunt because I realised this - only 7 were used in Russia prior to this - what a muppet I was at the time !! :doh:
Besides, good photos mean we can all get to see some when you come back ?

You say your machine was rebooting - is it still doing that ?? Something like a "you're machine will shutdown in one minute" - and then it does ??
If so, then you may have the Sasser virus (on your computer, not you personally !)
I'd go to to see if you need their handy tool (ooooer matron !)
I'd also make sure you go to and use their windows update tool to patch the problem and plug your gap (double oooooer !!)
Of course, if it's not still rebooting after you've quite rightly knobbled any spyware on there then all this has been for nothing !! rolleyes

There I am innocently munching on a piece of rosti, catching up on posts from during the munch....and find this !
Very sad to see you go and will know you as the first person from the forum to great me at the Mids munch - you were, and are, a gentleman.
If you ever come back then expect a welcome, but if not then know you have our thoughts of concern and our thanks for the posts.

I know music threads on here seem to come round again every few weeks....and I'd convinced myself I'd not chip in like I always do.....but the others seem to end up as "fave tunes/artists" threads so if this is kept to music for during the fun then...... wink

Massive Attack are such a good pick - you've the sensual and uplifting like "Unfinished.." right through to putting on "Mezzanine" for something dark and deeply dirty...... I've always thought that they were ideal for this sort of thing but didn't know if that said a lot about me redface

We should add a few extra awards though:-
"Worst attempted use of a microphone cable as a skipping rope"
"Worst attempt to play Jenga with speakers and amps"
"Best bruise from a short slide"
"Earliest/Latest ripped stockings of the evening"
"Most double-takes before you realise who you're talking too"
and, especially for that hilarious moment after you sang

Very well put - exactly how I'm sure Misschief and I view these munches too. The only pigeonhole we may use is that a few people were the super-lovely organisers who've made it possible to have such a great evening......but certainly not a mod/visitor split.

Loved it. Bloody loved it. Again !
Apart from the music being a tad loud and the room doubling as a sauna it was a wonderful night - what a turnout !! Loads more faces put to names (Corrie, AngelChat, Tigger, JQL, Kinky Lizard, MikeNorth, Ice Pie, WellBustyBabe, NeilInLeeds, Fred & Wilma, Rebecca...and, of course, Sarge - amongst many others !)
Also great to see some others again (Tim&Jas, Will&Sappho, MR&Mrs FC, Kit&Kat, Blue, Judy...and again many others)
A few tips though for those going to a Munch in the future:-
1) If you have a pet with you (say for example a small red evil duck) then letting him nest throughout the evening in cleavages, ripped stockings or under skirts will spoil him for life - he simply won't look at a normal nest again ! rolleyes

Then again, who can blame him ! :twisted:
2) When accepting a very kind lift from somebody (ta Fred !) ensure that both parties are thinking of the same location BEFORE turning up and realising it was a different hotel !!

3) If point 2) happens don't bolt from the scene - enjoy a drink with friends and you never know what will happen (eh Sarge !) lol

4) If you get the chance to get to a Munch, GO !! After this second one for me I really would urge those forumites to meet us in the flesh - so nice to put faces to names and all that.
5) Do not be overly cheeky to people before a Munch (again, thats a barely disguised Sarge reference !) :lol: :lol:

I've agonised, toyed (no, not that sort !), wondered and otherwise fretted about voting - as much as letting some people know how much I think of them would be wonderful, it's the thought of those names not listed thats makes me hesitate.
I'm just going to vote for SH as a whole.
Yeah, it's a cheat and a cop-out, but it also happens to be true - it's the combination of people on here that help raise the bar for everybody.

Personally I do like the mix of sexual queries, light-hearted harmless lunacy and serious soul searching. I wonder though if we are diluting the recipe for people like yourself who used this place, as you ably describe, as an extension of the other forums rather than a totally seperate thing ?
I'd be curious, being such a latecomer to this place, what the original rationale was for the Cafe ? Escape from the scene in a place to talk on a different level or discussion forum angled towards the scene and lifestyle ?
If it is the latter and some of us do have the end of the stick then let me be the first to offer apologies and the offer to bring my posts "back on track" for fear of driving people away from it's primary use.

Nice to see this thread back again - I remember when it made me think so hard first time round - even the realisation that I was bothered enough to stop and contemplate it was a surprise enough.
What does it mean to me now, in a nutshell ?
Exploration, friendship, boiundary-stretching, light-hearted banter and an openess to surprise myself on a regular basis. Oh, and an Indian squaw - not a bad bonus wink
